Jaquilin Leroung |
Sorry I would've replied yesterday, but Paizo site was down.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
"Let us explore. I hope there is something more interesting than mangy dogs. Maybe a devil." she smirks at the prospect as she begins to read through her book.
Heveel Ash'maïm |
Heveel is oblivious to Sago's answer as it actually takes all his concentration to write these few words right.
When he's finished, he puts back the paper in the moss and follows happily the others in the room.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Io Hammerhand |
Io nears the tower with great interest, his eyes catching every detail.
"Fascinatin' ruins," he muses as he enters the northern room.
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Jaquilin Leroung |
Looking over the group she looks to Sago.
"As we are travelling together, may I ask where you lived before joining the society?" she asks curiously with a smile "Must be difficult being stuck between an Elf and Human, I assume." as she says this it's obvious that she is showing pity, despite that fact it came come off as a mocking tone.
Sago Joles |
Sago shrugs, It's not so bad at all. So long as I avoid people who think they're inferior cause of their heritage, then I do all right. Besides, those aren't the type of people I want to hang 'round with anyways. I lived with my mother in Kyonin before joining the society.
Sago Joles |
Sago looks at the spider, raising his spear and asking the group casually, If anyone has some ranged weapons they want to use before we get its attention, now would be a good time.
Heveel Ash'maïm |
"What do spiders eat, ermm... Human flesh? Oh yeah, I bet it's human flesh. Do I have human flesh..." the sylph begins to search his bag before saying eventually "How silly of me! I don't! Of course I don't! Hahahaha!" and bursts out laughing at his silly thoughts.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
Recover lost arrow: 1d100 ⇒ 26Fail.
"Any flesh, if it's edible, they eat it. They might even like meat with a smokey flavor."
Locke nodges an arrow and pulls back the string.
Fly arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23 Dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Crit?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10 Dmg: 2d8 ⇒ (6, 4) = 10
Io Hammerhand |
"Nae gonna negotiate, spider? Nae? Well 'ave at ye!" the dwarf yells as he throws a javelin at the creature.
javelin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 201d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
StephNyan |
Locke shoots the spider in one of its eyes with a carefully aimed arrow.
Io: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Jaquilin: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
Locke: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Ruegann: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Sago: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
Spider: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The spider turns to attack, but is slower than most of you.
Round 1:
Io
Jaquilin
Heveel
Ruegann
Locke
Spider -4HP
Sago
Locke triggered initiative. Io may make use of his attack and damage rolls during his 1st round.
Heveel Ash'maïm |
"Always violence, sure, that's a thing! Go ahead and kill EVERYBODY! You can't do that..." mumbles the druid.
delay
Jaquilin Leroung |
Jaquilin sighs as she sees this spider.
"Damn pests." she waits for the spider to approch and then fires a orb of acid at it.
ready an action to fire a glob of acid when it gets in range.
Ranged Touch 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Acid 1d3 ⇒ 3
StephNyan |
Io hits the spider hard with one of his javelin's.
While Ruegann and heveel aren't exactly sure what to do, Locke readies an attack for when the spider comes down.
Jaquilin sighs and readies an attack for when the spider comes within range.
Web: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
The spider shoots a web at Io, but misses. As a result it stays where it is.
Round 1:
~
Sago
Round 2:
Io
Jaquilin
Heveel
Ruegann
Locke
Spider -13HP
Sago
Everyone's up before the spider's up again.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
Do we keep our readied rolls or make a new roll for this turn, since the itty bitty didn't come closer.
In case new one is allowed, hereby;
Fly arrow: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Dmg: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Io Hammerhand |
Io throws another javelin just inches from where the first landed.
javelin: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 211d6 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Heveel Ash'maïm |
As a full-round action, Heveel begins to prepare a new "cigarette", leaning against a wall.
StephNyan |
@Locke: The actions stay readied till the trigger occurs, and the same rolls will be kept. Though you may always decide to break the readied action off on your new turn.
While Heveel takes a deep smoke, and both Locke and Ruegan prepare for when the spider comes closer, Io throws another javelin. the javelin pierces the spider's head and it drops dead on the fortress's floor.
Combat's over!
Sago Joles |
Sago will look around the webbing that the spider made, searching for any other animals, and finds a collar studded with gems. Poor thing probably got caught in here, let's try to find its owner and at least let them know what happened.
Heveel Ash'maïm |
"Hey, duudes. You need to chill out. I once met an angel whose name was Kita. It said something in a strange tongue... Wait it spoked in druidic! And then, it went in my body and sometimes I hear it giving me advice in my teeth." says the druid, exhaling a pretty big cloud of blue smoke.
Without saying anything more, he takes the collar and attach it at is belt.
Sago Joles |
Sago probably wouldn't have handed over the collar to Heveel, who at the point he, in character, wouldn't trust all that much based on his actions so far.
Sago politely resists the druid's attempts to grab the collar from him, ignoring the still-smoking man as he brushes the webs from collar before placing it carefully in his pack.
Heveel Ash'maïm |
Heveel gives a puzzled look at the elf but doesn't try further to get the collar.
StephNyan |
Ruegann searches the rubble, but finds nothing but more rubble.
Io opens the door, which leads to a stone spiral staircase that runs through the center of the tower. Unfortunately, the stairway is also blocked with fallen rubble. It looks like the stairs used to go both up and down, but there's no way left to go down. If you wish to go up you will have to go back outside and find a way up.
If you go back outside, here's a repost of some information on the fortress's exterior:
The tower stands 80 feet tall and its exterior walls are amazingly smooth. Climbing the ragged remains of the east wing’s walls looks to be easier, but won't let you access the highest floor.
Jaquilin Leroung |
Jaquiilin watches the group and continues to study the ruins for any identifiable marks.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
"I remember studying the Angels and Archons. Powerful beings, if you let them. she smirks and looks over to the scorpion.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
"While i have heard and read a book or two where they were mentioned, what do they have to do with this?"
Locke looks at the others.
"Does anyone have a rope and grappling hook we can use?"
Jaquilin Leroung |
Jaquilin rolls her eyes.
"You did not buy a pathfinder kit? It has all the essentials." she states as she gets her pet to fetch it out of her bag for her. "Tahnks, Touran."
She hands over the rope with a smile.
"The best Pathfinders are prepared for anything." she states openly before looking back to her book, pausing to continue "Do you need a grappling hook? Pivots? Torches? Tinderwicks or even a Dagger?"
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
*Shrug*
"I never volunteered to join the pathfinder society. I was tricked."
Rummaging through the backpack, Locke discovers a recently purchased rope...without a grappling hook however. Creating a makeshift lasso, Locke looks ad will aim for any part of the broken wall it could latch on to.
Toss lasso onto extruding object: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
StephNyan |
This module assumes you're not yet part of the Society, but whatever :P
While outside you look around. There's nothing new to see except what you've already seen, but you figure a decent climber could scale the east wall's rubble without rope.
After a while Jaquilin and Locke both retrieve their ropes from theirs backpacks. Before anyone can take the rope from Jaquilin, Locke's already thrown her rope up. The rope comes back down, because it fails to latch on to anything.
Ruegann Mankin |
After examining the wall Ruegann attempts to climb up
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
not sure how many checks are needed
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Climb: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Heveel Ash'maïm |
"Hey, duuuude! Throw a rope so we can climb like you did! I'm not as skilled as you! Well, I am high, but not enough..." he says with a sad expression on his face, looking at the remains of his cigarette.
Locke "Firebug" Arkham |
"Well, if you want to climb like me you won't 'need' a rope.
So we give you another few minutes to smoke and you fly up?", a joking response comes from above.
Regardless of that, Locke looks for a spot to tie the rope to.
Between myself and Ruegann, we can easily help you all up.
