As the beams of fire lance towards Urko Artemis leaps this way and that, trying to help him evade them but to no effect.

Artemis will use bodyguard to aid Urko's AC against the beams but even adding +7 that doesn't bring his flatfooted touch AC up to where it would help.

We offered to talk and you respond with violence. So be it, you are clearly just as enthralled by this Unity as the fool Deacon, you can suffer the same fate.

Raising both hands Urko intones a spell. Between his hands a ball of intense light forms, it grows brighter and brighter until, with an heave of effort, he hurls it down the long passageway where it blossoms briefly into an intense flare of explosive energy which vanishes as quickly as it arrived.

He then quickly casts a second spell, reaching out to touch Miranda, Marduk and Artemis before pulling Artemis off to one side.

Make them come to us he calls to the group.

Urko defensively casts sunbust, targeting the doors at the far end of the corridor. He cannot fail the check. It is an 80' radius burst so should hit everyone in the doorway, everyone in the corridor and possibly people in the chamber beyond. It deals 6d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6, 1, 4, 6) = 24 untyped damage and permanently blinds everyone. If sunlight is harmful to any of them they take double damage. A DC31 reflex save halves the damage and negates the blindness. Undead specifically harmed by sunlight as well as molds and fungi are destroyed on a failed save. He follows up with a quickened communal resist energy fire on the people he can reach, providing fire resist 30 to all.

Artemis will save: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (12) + 19 = 31

I am currently down 18 actual HP as I had not lost any of my heroes feast temporary ones. Artemis took 8 damage from the orders wrath I believe but she still hasn't lost any actual hp as she started with 13 temp hp from the heroes feast. She is now at 115/110.

I think Sweet Mawd should be at 1 dmg, not 11. She took half damage (due to improved evasion) from failing the save against meteor #2, which would be 11, and then she has fire resistance 10, leaving a balance of 1 hp of damage (she also has SR 20 so technically there should be a check to see if the meteor swarm affected her at all).

I presume that we cannot know anything about the turrets without the Technologist feat? When her turn comes around, Agata will use her prior "32" Knowledge (Nature) re vanilla gargoyles to ask (in descending order of preference): Immunities, Resistances, Special Defenses, Saves, Special Attacks.

That 48 damage will burn off his 13 temp hp too. Leaving him 35 down

Hugo will fly down to Nalshene for an emergency revive paddles. (breath of life)

NALSHENE! You cannot resign just yet, lady. Arise, and quickly!

Breath of life: 5d8 + 14 ⇒ (6, 3, 2, 1, 2) + 14 = 28 (whew - I think that is enough?)

Up front, you better shut down those turrets quickly, or we will have more bodies than Abadar will allow me to revive...including my own.

Note, if I am reading this wrong, and she is beyond saving, then Hugo stays put, casts communal resist fire (on any not covered already) and channels instead.

You are correct, it should be 1 hp damage, I did miss the fire resistance Sweet Maud possesses. But let me tell you this: on a 1, I overcome SR. I am thus not going to bother with a roll.

Battle Map

Odd for Yellow turret, Even for Red: 1d2 ⇒ 1

Narshala launches herself at one of the turrets but finds its armored shell tough, even with the enchantments she possesses!

There is a bark in Terran, and a gargoyle appears in the far room, a room which appears to be colossally big, with banks upon banks of Numerian tables with comfortable seats, with a larger seat in the center of the room, all facing away towards a dark wall all in black which illuminates all of a sudden with a figure you have seen before on a beautiful, almost heavenly background of marble colonnades and buildings in a style that mimics that of perhaps early Jiska, or late Azlant. "It is you who offers nothing but violence. Look at your world. Flawed. At war. Torn between those who hunger and those who have plenty. Those who lust and those who are lusted after. You would come after me for my evil, my inability to be humanoid, but it is you who are inherently evil" says the figure in a monotone that obscures up to it's gender as the gargoyle, accompanied by one in the hallway cast a spell and translucent battleaxes seemingly made of force appear and attack Narshala!

Buncha rolls:

Spiritual Weapon, Blue vs Narshala: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Spiritual Weapon, Red vs Narshala: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8

The battleaxes do not seem to get through Narshala's hide though, and one of the casters opts to tactically retreat as his companions clutch at their holy symbols hung around their necks and cry out to Unity for it's favor.
"Yes my children. Soon I will heal your affliction" booms Unity on it's screen, as a strangely cybernetically enhanced gargoyle raises it's arm and fires small red beams of light at Narshala before eclipsing himself to the side.

Moar dice rolling:

Ray vs Narshala: 1d20 + 21 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 21 - 2 = 22
Fire Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 2) + 5 = 9
Ray vs Narshala: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 16 - 2 = 18
Fire Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (6, 1) + 5 = 12
Ray vs Narshala: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (12) + 11 - 2 = 21
Fire Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (5, 3) + 5 = 13
Ray vs Narshala: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (1) + 6 - 2 = 5
Fire Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (1, 4) + 5 = 10

Most find their mark, striking Narshala.

Agata:
Agata recalls that gargoyles typically have no immunities, have a thick hide DR 10/Magic, can freeze to appear like statues, Are typically quick on their feet (Reflex) and have middling constitutions and willpower (Fort, Will). They do not have any special attacks.

Would my companions be able to tell if Narshala is damaging the turret at all with her attacks? If not, hopefully one of them can let Nalshene know to tell her to retreat instead. If she's dealing some damage, she can keep going.

Insofar as telling how much damage you're dealing I think Narshala could tell for herself. Beyond that, she has a pretty good wisdom score, so I think she could opt to take the wisest option (the most sensible option). It may not be the most tactical option, but wisest I'll approve of all the way. Now Narshala can tell that whatever these things are made of, it's definitely more than hardness 10.

Just to clarify, is the strangely cybernetically enhanced gargoyle the white token just beyond the far door?

Spellcraft to know what spell just hit Narshala: 1d20 + 29 ⇒ (9) + 29 = 38

"Gargoyles, eh? Well these ain't so much like some o' those minor league gargoyles I seen in me time, lemme tell you that. Now those gargoyles, ye had best have a magic weapon if'n ya want to whack 'em, and they usually got 'em some quick reflexes, but they ain't immune to nuthin', but as for these here Hoomity-lovin' gargoyles, who knows what they's up to. No good, I'll bet ya that much!"

Staggered from her gyrations avoiding the meteor swarm, Agata cannot do much. She moves 5' northeast to have a clear line of effect (and also drops 5' in altitude) and casts Greater Discharge, selecting the area discharge option, and centering the 20' radius burst between the middle turrets and the furthest turrets. By my calculation this should get the blue, green, purple, and orange turrets, as well as - if it matters - (type A) purple, yellow, green, and orange gargoyles and (type B) purple and green gargoyles.

Note: I'm hoping that this will knock these 4 turrets offline for 1d4 rounds, but from the wording of the spell, it's not clear to me whether or not it will actually do anything at all (not knowing what the turrets really are or whether they use electricity), but I'm not sure whether or not Agata would know that. Although she doesn't have the technologist feat, she has certainly encountered 'teknik' before, and she has a +17 Knowledge (Engineering), so it's not unreasonable for her to think that these turrets might be electrically powered. On the other hand, if you think it would be obvious to her that the spell will do nothing just tell me and I'll do something else. Or, alternatively, if you feel that the spell will do nothing, but that there's no way for Agata to know this in advance, then c'est la vie (or possibly c'est la mort, in this case!).

If the spell affects the turrets:

Blue turret, rounds suppressed: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Green turret, rounds suppressed: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Purple turret, rounds suppressed: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Orange turret, rounds suppressed: 1d4 ⇒ 4

Gazing wistfully at her now fire-resistant comrades, "Ooh, now ain't they purty now! Ya kin almost see them flames just dancing off o' them. That sure would be nice if'n anyone's got some more to spare."

When she hears the bark in Terran, Sweet Mawd cocks her ear to listen. She has truespeech, so she should be able to understand it if it was significant.

Also staggered, Sweet Mawd sighs deeply and shakes her head before heading into battle once again. She swiftly draws a tiny scroll from her wrist sheath, flies 5' closer to her comrades (and 5' down), and casts haste (she cannot fail the UMD check) on Marduk, Miranda, Urko, Artemis, and Agata (5 rounds duration)

The gargoyle yelled something to the effect of "You idiot" to the other one."

Agata racks her brain, but whatever that was was not a spell as the spell leaves her hands and lands in the midst of the gargoyles without hurting them. The turrets however begin gyrating wildly as one of the gargoyles in the front runs to the other side of the hallway, smiles wickedly at the witch, and casts a spell resulting in a battleaxe made of force slamming into the elf.

Another gargoyle yells something in Terran as it casts a spell and another battleaxe begins to go after Agata. Between the two, it seems as if she is taking some damage!

Back to Miranda!

Barely fazed by the strange turret's spells, the Rose grins as she feels magical speed wash over her. She takes a short adjusting step into the doorway, standing shoulder to... shoulder? leg? with a massive dinosaur, and unleashing her rapier at the nearest turret.

"I'm feeling rather judged, here," Miranda says cheerfully as she works on disabling this device the old-fashioned way. "Evil? I'm not the one blasting people with enormous meteor showers for just poking our heads in. Anyway, we did knock." Sort of.

I believe it's a legal 5-ft step on the map for me to get into that doorway; if it's not, I'd probably prefer to do something else than take a step and a single attack, but I don't want to make retcons too darn tedious. Here's the attacks if it is a legal 5-ft:

Attack 1, hasted, combat expertise: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (8) + 27 = 35
Damage (adamantine, magic as a +4 weapon): 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22

Attack 2, hasted, combat expertise: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (5) + 22 = 27
Damage (adamantine, magic): 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

Attack 3, hasted, combat expertise: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (19) + 17 = 36 Potential critical, not sure if these are counting as objects or constructs; if they can be critted, then:
Damage (adamantine, magic): 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (3) + 17 = 20

Confirm critical? (#3): 1d20 + 17 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 17 + 4 = 27
Damage (adamantine, magic): 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22

Attack 4 (haste), hasted, combat expertise: 1d20 + 27 ⇒ (19) + 27 = 46 Potential critical
Damage (adamantine, magic): 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (6) + 17 = 23

Confirm critical? (#4): 1d20 + 27 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 27 + 4 = 38
Damage (adamantine, magic): 1d6 + 17 ⇒ (4) + 17 = 21

Some notes:
If the turrets can actually be blinded (seems unlikely, but hey, maybe), then each confirmed crit requires a DC 25 Fortitude save vs permanent blindness. Success will instead dazzle for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds. Also, if the turrets are immune to precision damage and/or critical hits, then Miranda's damage drops by 3 on each attack.

okay, stuck on phone, but if someone could move me in and up to those first two gargoyles (red and blue), I’ll just tank any AOOs this may incur, and take a single attack on blue, using that first roll from my previous post. If for some reason I can’t get to them (like if they’re flying) then I’ll just move in and single attack turret. Sorry for delay

Urko casts quickened divine power on Artemis, then he uses his hasted speed to fly around into the corridor and casts prismatic spray. As a 60' cone it should hit all of the gargoyles in the corridor. He will cast defensively, he cannot fail the check. The DC is 30.

Some are damaged, one has turned to stone, but overall faith in Unity has shielded these gargoyles from the worst! One of the gargoyles comes back into view, and another battleaxe of force comes into being, swinging at Urko!

Unless that spell qualifies under your ready Marduk? I don't think it does, but I could be wrong. Actually, if you could be more specific: Are you readying to disrupt a AoE Spell, a spell launched by a turret, any spell...

OK, Gargoyle B Yellow has triggered your readied action Marduk; as for the turrets, it's complicated: Essentially Unity has a limited ability to channel some of it's spells through their cannons. So they aren't casting per se. Anyway, let me know how you are ruining yellow B's day; he's all the way in the back.

No chance of holding onto that spell.

Hearing a creature casting, Marduk launches a fireball from around the corner, bringing the spell to an abrupt stop. The gargoyle in the back, barely seeing Agata from his location, nonetheless decides to redirect his spiritual weapon to this new, seemingly softer target as his blind companions slowly move up to deal with the intruders. He is joined in his efforts by another, who moves up to get a better view.

Spiritual Weapons Red and Blue:

Spiritual Weapon, Red vs Agata: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (20) + 14 = 34

Spiritual Weapon, Red vs Agata (Confirmation): 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28
Damage: 2d8 + 4 ⇒ (5, 8) + 4 = 17

The force weapons hit Agata repeatedly, one landing right into her stomach leaving a ghastly wound.

Fort Save (Green) vs Poison: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27

A blind gargoyle attempts to hit the Rose of Taldor.

To the tune of the Benny Hill Show theme:

Green A, Battleaxe: 1d20 + 16 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 16 + 3 = 20
Percentile (High is good): 1d100 ⇒ 22
Damage: 1d8 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 3 = 14

It fails miserably, almost severing it's own foot, as a single beam of red light cuts through the air towards Urko.

Shooting, second range increment, Cover: 1d20 + 21 - 4 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 21 - 4 - 2 = 30
Fire Damage: 2d6 + 5 ⇒ (2, 3) + 5 = 10

But while the shot hits Urko right in the torso, he takes no damage, to the horror of the gargoyle who exclaims something to the effect of "Get that one", or so Sweet Maud understands.

Agata is most displeased by the cloud of spiritual battleaxes surrounding her, but keeps her focus on the larger problems facing the group. With a word and a gesture, a blast surges out from her hands towards the blue turret.

Ranged Touch Attack vs. Blue Turret: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (17) + 14 = 31 +2 more if it's considered a construct; I have not modified the attack roll for cover or shooting into melee - not sure how those apply given that it is a Large object.

Piercing Disintegrate. I think that if it hits the turret is simply destroyed without a save or damage rolls.

Having fired her blast, Agata quickly moves north to get out of the sight of the gargoyles and their hated battleaxes. My understanding is that if the gargoyles can't see her their spiritual weapons simply return to them - let me know if that's not how you interpret the spell.

Agata's spell reduces another turret to scraps of glaucite and wire, as Agata gets out of the line of sight of the spiritual weapons. Two of them return to their masters who send them off to fight Urko as one retreats backwards and the other attempts to defend itself against the Rose of Taldor, stepping away as it does so. Nalshene, finally conscious, casts a spell to give some breathing room.

Ack, sorry, not sure how I missed that I was up!

Miranda grins beneath her mask as she notes the nice clump of gargoyles. "Ah, do you think you have me surrounded? Not so. I surround you."

(Look, it sounds good, even if it makes no sense.)

Taking a small step forward, the Rose begins lashing out with her blade in a circle all around her, moving from one foe to the next.

I didn't see any reference to any of these gargoyles being flying too high for me to reach, but please correct me if I missed that. If they are all melee-targetable, then starting with red and going around to blue then purple if by some magic I manage to drop two.

I'm just going to forgo the blindness save as we are already blind.

Miranda thrusts into the gargoyle's flesh, her enchanted rapier easily cutting through its tough hide. It howls in pain and attempts to return the favor!

YES, IT'S THE BENNY HILL SHOW!:

Hugo will 5' step up/closer to the double doors to get a better view.

Abadar, we need to clear these miscreants from the hall. Bathe them in divine fire!

He calls forth a column of orderly crimson fire down upon the center of the room.
flame strike: 15d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 3, 5, 6, 3, 5, 1, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 6) = 46 per map DC23 for half fire/divine

Bleh!

And erase the debts we have received in the exchange with their turrets.

He will then use two channels (move action) to quickly heal those on this side of the doors (within 30')
channel positive: 7d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 3, 4, 5, 3, 4) = 28

I believe HP down 7, with all temp hp gone.

Most of the gargoyles manage to get out of the way, leaving only one blind gargoyle and a turret to take the brunt of Hugo's wrath. Incredibly, they are all still standing! The remaining turret by the door locks onto Agata as Unity states, it's voice booming from seemingly everywhere: "Why, why do you continue? My faithful have endured your attacks, as they will continue to endure in the hopes of a better world. A world where they aren't cast out because of their appearance, ideals, or beliefs. You believe yourselves to be doing this world a service by opposing me?"

And I've been doing the turrets wrong. Oh well. I'll keep on doing them this way. Trust me, it's to your benefit; I missed the part where it said "all targets in LoS". That would be fun, right?

Red Turret vs Agata:

Attack #1: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 20 = 30
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 4, 4, 6) = 20
Attack #2: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 = 40
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 3, 2) = 12
Attack #2 (Confirm): 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35
Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 4) = 18
Unholy Blight vs Normal, mortal people: 5d8 ⇒ (3, 3, 8, 6, 3) = 23
Unholy Blight vs Good Aligned Outsiders. Or as Unity calls it: Screw you Sweet Maud: 10d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 2, 2, 5, 5, 3, 3, 2, 3) = 34

Suddenly Agata, Sweet Maud, Hugo, Marduk and Artemis feel pain as unholy energy radiates from the shots.

If I could get some Will saves vs Unholy Blight, that would be great. Sweet Maud's SR is bypassed; same deal as before, I need to roll a -1 or higher on a d20.
