Lysaer leads the party out of Wadi al-Hesr and through the warm countryside. The tracks are easy enough to follow, and after three hours you reach the Karzha Necropolis, where the foot traffic obscures any possible leads.

Rolling his shoulders with a creaking of plates, Lysaer takes a look at the necropolis before activating the pouch at his belt to access the mystical storage within. Drawing forth his necklace bearing the holy symbols of his Order's five patron deities, the Hellknight feels more comfortable with his godly connection restored.

"Well, there is no time to waste I imagine. Are we ready?"

The Karzha Necropolis is filled to nearly bursting with modest gravestones and just as many marble tombs, sepulchers, and crypts. Its recesses form a veritable maze in which an individual could easily become lost.

You recall the area most likely to contain graves with the particular style of date your clue has.

Before entering the necropolis, Zinkyudo pulls a wand from his belt pouch and asks Sparky to use it. He then calls on his own monastic training to further protect himself from attack before following along with the others.

After a few surprising rebuffs from the visiting locals, Zinkyudo finds someone willing to point them in the right direction based on the dates in the clue.


Given the necropolis' size, it takes you an hour to find the exact grave you're looking for. This is the tomb of one Adel al-Manhir, a landowner of some wealth, and is a simple single-room affair made of sandstone whose door has been forced open. The inside of the crypt measures 20 ft. by 40 ft., and shelves holding desiccated corpses line the walls—servants of the deceased. An ornate, stone sarcophagus stands in the middle of the room. The dust around it has been disturbed.

Standing before the grave that matches the dates they've got, Zinkyudo scans the area. Once inside, his eyes continue to rove back and forth, freezing on the ornate sarcophagus. "Hmm," he remarks in an even tone, "someone's removed the lid to that big stone coffin and replaced it recently. I wonder, were they going in or coming out?"

Will re-up mage armor and barkskin (2/7 ki used), since an hour has passed.

Following the directions towards the Crypt, Lysaer agrees with Zink's assessment of the coffin and draws their silvered blade in anticipation of trials to come. Looking around the room, the Hellknight then downs the extract provided by Sparky, their sin hardening like ancient wood beneath his armoured shell.

Focusing for a moment, Lysaer chants softly in a magical tongue, bidding aura's reveal themselves.

Acknowledging there's work to be done, Zink sets his shoulder to the stone and helps Rogar push the lid off.

The slab falls away to reveal a black aperture. A horrific miasmic stench rushes from the hole, a nauseous mixture of neglect, decay, and sweet spices. No corpse lies within the tomb, only the top of a flight of irregular stone steps leading steeply downward into the earth.

Taking the time to say a short prayer, Lysaer sets off down the steps cautiously, their eyes seeking for traps and uneven stonework as they make their way to the lower depths of the mausoleum.

So we are waiting on Deaglan and Auric to check in. I'm hoping to play Sparky in an irl game on the 17th. Hopefully 3 weeks or so will be enough time.


The stairs lead down 120 feet to chamber whith its dusty walls and floor covered in Ancient Osiriani hieroglyphs. A body lies face down at the foot of the stairs, dressed in a tan robe, a blotch of red staining its back. The repugnant smell of decaying flesh hangs in the air.

Perception DC 17:
You find a jumble of footprints in the dust and sand that lies atop the ancient flagstones.

If someone succeeds the first check:

Two shod humanoids fought a number of unshod creatures with long toenails here and then fled east.

Perception DC 15:
The corpse seems to have some items on it, but it's also infested with flesh-burrowing scarab beetles.

Perception DC 30:
At the foot of the stairs you discover scratches and grooves in the wall indicating a heavy stone has been lowered and raised here a number of times over the centuries.

The construction of these tunnels is over 7,000 years old and reflects the influences of ancient Osirion and the Jistka Imperium

Ancient Osiriani:
The hieroglyphics all proclaim the inimitable excellences of the Immolated Mirza, Verdizaam Charad, and of his many triumphs over the scum of the Jistka Imperium. Verdizaam claims credit for the downfall of the entire nation.

Sparky bends down to look at the body then jumps back a bit.
"They didn't loot the body but it is infested with beetles. One moment."

Sparky steps back and firebombs the body. Assuming the beetles are dead he then pours water on it. If not then things get interesting.

Seeing nothing beyond Sparky''s initial assessments of the room, Lysaer once more scans the room for any lingering Evil or Chaotic auras before they press on. Keeping his sword drawn and his spell-enhanced eyes moving Lysaer shakes his head at the filth down here.

"Well disposed of, now, how shall we press on? I happy to go near the front again and can activate my Wayfinder to light the area around me, anyone have any last minute preparations?" He asks grimly as he waits for the others.

"Well done. Now let's search the place, shall we? I think we should start with these doors here" Says Rogar examining the door to his right

All three doors reveal empty, dusty rooms, though Rogar is sure there's something hidden in them.

Moving on, you find a room with two bodies lying slumped and bloody on the flagstones. One of the corpses leans against the wall, stripped to the waist, its chest cavity torn open and hollowed out. The other body lies face down in the middle of the floor, clothed in desert garb with a green turban.
The room itself is spacious, though part of the roof seems to have fallen in, leaving a clutter of stone debris on the floor. Alcoves line the walls, each one holding an ornate sarcophagus. At the far end stands a 30-foot-tall stone idol of a winged humanoid beast with a horned, lion-like visage.

Knowledge (planes) DC 30:
The idol is identifiable as Ahriman, Lord of the Divs, a powerful fiend of Abaddon.

DC 12 Perception check or DC 15 Wisdom check:
You recognize the robes and green turban of the corpse in the middle of the room as being those worn by Agosa Agion when you smuggled him into Rahadoum.

"The treasure is back there! I swear it! We just have to go back and search better!" Rogar complains as his companions decide to move deeper inside the subterranean complex.

As the group nears the corpses Rogar scans the room searching for clues about their identity...

Moving into the room with Sparky, Zinkyudo can't help but feel a sensation of deja vu. "Oh, that is unfortunate," Zink concurs as he notes the clothing on the body on the floor. He kneels down and takes a look at the man, to confirm his identity and see what he can learn about how the man died.

On my phone so can't move myself. Assuming each square on the map is 10' i can swing round to flank with Rogar due to haste.
