Thanks for the link explaining the name, DM! I saw some cool kasbahs in Morocco a little over a year ago (like this), but I didn't recognize that this was the same word.


The stairs lead up to a cellar of the fortress apparently hollowed out from the rock of the cliff. A pair of rotting barrels stands against one wall, and a closed door sits in the western wall.

@Zinkyudo: Yeah, I felt like that detail had flown over your heads. For some reason the author chose the Indian spelling, even though Rahadoum is Golarion's version of Morocco/Algeria. Nice picture, though! I've never been to North Africa myself.

Zinkyudo's great, amber eyes scan the room as well, pointing out little details to Sparky as he leads the search. He pays particular attention to the rotting barrels, trying to determine what their contents might have been, and checking to see if something might be hidden behind or underneath them.

There are no traps to be found, and the door doesn't even have a lock. One of the barrels is filled with sea brine and now inhabited by small crabs and the other holds the rotten remains of a bolt of Vudrani silk.

A number of bales, barrels, and crates are stacked in the southern portion of this room. The reverse side of a secret door sits in the west wall, though it is quite obvious from this side. To the north small hollows are cut into the stone of a deep storeroom and iron manacles are set into the walls.

"Makes sense to me," Zinkyudo concurs with Rogar, though he pauses to take a closer look at the cells and manacles. "It appears we are not coming at this place by the expected path, hopefully we can take any threats by surprise."

On the other side of the secret door is a low and musty storage cellar, holding a number of pieces of discarded furniture stacked to the south along with four large wicker baskets that appear to hold the remains of some putrefying root vegetable. A door exits to the west where a stair ascends into the fortress, and the ceiling of that wing of the room is the underside of the stair. Tucked into the hollow beneath the stairs is a small closet. A slight gasp of air escapes from behind its wooden door.

Moments after you step into the room, the tread of many heavy feet thunder on the stairs outside the room. (Walking, not running)

You have one round before whoever is coming reaches the bottom of the stairs.

Zinkyudo weighs the right words to try to use on these godless souls, but before he makes up his mind, Lysaer speaks up and makes their case.

Well, we were supposed to be here meeting someone, he thinks as he considers the tale Lysaer has spun, but perhaps we were doing it in that hidden spot because the guards weren't meant to know about it. We shall see.

I only threw one bomb. The Desiccating Lubricant is a regular alchemical weapon I pulled out last round. Edit: Ah my mistake. It is a standard to toss the bomb not just 1 per round. Ignore the bomb toss then and Sparky will pull out a Tanglefoot bag as a move instead.
