@Caduceus: You'll need to concentrate for 3 rounds to learn the locations of each magic aura in the 60 ft. cone you're examining.

Sorry for the weekend absence; it was a busy one.

Perception, DC 20: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (4) + 18 = 22

Despite getting caught up watching the eruption of the brawl—while calmly sipping his ale, no less—the Varisian’s sharp eyes catch site of a gem that bounces across a nearby tabletop. He quickly hoists his ale at the two northman who are so ably handling their opponent, and yells out, ”Get him, fellas!”

Then he darts over towards the other gem, hoping to help his team secure as many as possible.

Jal has Dodge, Mobility, and Spring Attack, if that can help flavor him nimbly darting among the fray to grab another token. :D

Grab two if you want! We have a couple of rounds to kill. Seriously though, grabbing another is fine if the GM is ok with that. ;-)

"We're going to get rooms somewhere to rest in for the next few nights... and keep those things out of sight for now so we don't have to kill anyone else tonight." Braxus says offhandedly when he sees Jal juggling. Then more appreciatively he adds, "Nice haul though! Glad you were looking out for us."

As he notices the healing magic working on Caduceus, and looks over to Eramos and also notices his wounds are all but gone, he adds "Looks like we are in good hands for keeping us all hale and hearty. Your goddess must hold you in high regard Caduceus, and that bodes well for us in this contest."

And that brings your total haul to 9 rubies (9 more than my party managed when I played it way back when :P). I should probably give Shifty a heads-up that our table wont be present for the thing, though.

-Posted with Wayfinder

The gathering of rubies is understandably abstract, to allow any number of tables to gather any number of rubies. As for giving spare rubies to other tables, the scenario dosen't preclude it, and it's in fact being discussed in the GM thread. I'll let you know if and when you can help other tables.
The thing triggers if there are any groups still in the inn after the cut-off point. It's not exactly happy-fun-times and includes the very real risk of being arrested or even (theoretically) trampled to death. Any tables in the inn resolve it separately, so your actions have no negative impact on the others.

As Braxus flashes his own Wayfinder, the innkeeper cracks a smile and hands you a key.

Braxus is fairly straightforward, simple and easy to read. He is genuine with his emotions... confusion, surprise, excitement, sadness... the works. Lies are overly complicated and exhausting so he doesn't bother with them... He doesn't even seem to embellish when he tells a story or three as the night wears on. Though his stories get quite outlandish, he believes his tales completely. He even tells a most chilling tale that has you on the edge of your seat where children's souls are stolen and placed in living dolls!

He shudders at that and you realize he has a strong dislike for dolls. A very strong dislike.

From the bed Eramos rolls over almost and props his head up and clasp his hands.Imagine some one laying on a therapist couch "I was a lad when I was taken from my tribe, just barely old enough to fight and got forced into servitude. Jal flops down in his own seat, ordering yet another drink as he idly spins one of the gems in his fingers. Eramos's story gets a raised eyebrow, and he shakes his head. "Nothing like overly-transparent strangers, am I right?" He gives Eramos a wink as a lame attempt to take some sting from the barb.

Then he looks over at Auric. "I've been walking the Society's roads for a few years now." He shrugs, "A busy few years, though. I'll give you that. But as the old saying goes ... Má tá tú ag dul go dtí dance, a thabhairt do bhróga dachas.."

Varisian:
"If you're going to a dance, bring your dancing shoes."

He gives the man a smirk and continues, "They send me on an assignment when they want to make sure you get to keep your skin intact."

Sorry, busy few days.

Taika offers merely a curt nod to Eramos, and speaks little until they have reached the inn. In the common room she obtains wine for herself and asks the kitchen for some raw turnips for her rabbit.

"I suppose not everyone is as familiar with the ways of the arcane," she says eventually. "I cannot fault you for your..." Taika considers and discards the word 'ignorance', moving on, "...different customs. The whispering magic, as Braxus calls it, will allow us to be heard at a great distance to one another. It does not truly affect your mind: it merely carries the sound of a voice, quietly.

"Nothing I do assaults the will or senses in the fashion of which you speak. I am no charmer of the senses, and I consider it abhorrent to overcome the natural will of another and substitute my own.

"My magic is of the northlands; I call the power of the snow and the ice and the deep colds to hinder foul creatures. I can also speed your feet, or open chasms before those who would harm us. But your mind," she says coolly at Eramos, "is quite safe from me."

Taika feeds turnips to her small white furry companion. "As for tales of travels... I once journeyed far underground to save dwarves who had been captured by duergar. There were many sights there that are worth the remembering: a bulette, a creature of the earth, who had been fashioned into a terrible beast of war by means of adamantine plates bolted to his skin. And the folk called 'mongrelmen', no two alike, each a patchwork and a hybrid more piteous than anything the surface world could hold."

"Alas, no high deeds here to speak of my friend. Though I have traveled my fair share, I am the one often impressed by the efforts of my fellow Pathfinders. My faith in Iomedae allows me to contribute, but I believe she would raise an eyebrow were I to claim any glory for myself." The paladin takes a long swig from his goblet. "Hmm.. Braxus, I seemed to have found the bottom of my cup. Perhaps you have another 'prayer' you could share?"

Before we turn in for the night, I will Paly channel once to ensure everyone is topped off.

***OVERSEER ANNOUCEMENT***

Overseer thread

Without warning, loud slamming noises echo through the tavern, even over the fray of the combat within. Moments later, the front doors rupture in a shower of splinters. In full battle regalia, a contingent of Absalom’s First Guard rush into the room. Swinging heavy chains and nets, they beat into the brawlers en mass, dragging dozens to the floor. The remainder of the contestants break from their opponents, and the crowd devolves into a raging mob as all race frantically for the nearest exit to avoid arrest.

If you are no longer in the tavern, this is more for your awareness...

What you actually see:

After you've made yourselves comfortable, you hear some commotion out on the street. Peeking out, you see a contingent of the First Guard bustling past, towards the Devil's Dregs. The fact that someone has deemed it necessary to send Absalom's elite military force to break up the brawl, makes you quite happy to have a soft bed comparatively far from the inn.
