* Wand of Reduce Person -750gp
* Wand of Shield -750gp
* Spellguard Bracers -5000gp
* Headband of Alluring Charisma +2 -4000gp
* Quick Runner’s Shirt -1000gp
I'm leveled up and ready to go.

I've updated Rhuul now. Probably need to buy some more armour. Big pick up this level has been Discordant voice, so now when he is inspiring courage you all also do an extra 1d6 sonic damage.

With six players, welcome to subtier 10-11! :-)
I'll wait to hear from Garmit and Herrick that they are done with purchases before diving into part 3.
Xichi, as long as you have the money and fame for your purchases, you are good. We are between scenarios, so there are no external restrictions.
Rhuul Irontoe |
It is early season scenarios. I'm playing a 7th level monk in a CORE late season tier 10-11 scenario. Now that really is scary.
Princess Xen |
We only have one player in the 10-11 range. Strange how we are pushed into that tier, especially with half the party firmly in the 7-8 camp. So I'll worry a little.
If your core monk is with a bunch of level 11 players it should be no big deal. That is not the case for this run though.
Rhuul Irontoe |
Three tens, a nine and two sevens, one of which is a pregen...
But we do get the four player adjustment to help make things a little easier.
We can just take things nice and slow. Unless there is a big need for speed healing up between encounters is a good idea.
GM Rinaldo |
This is actually one of the reasons that Starfinder went to the 4-level bands, so that there is no "in between" to have to deal with. I suspect PFS2e will go that route.
Are we ready to begin?
Herrick Whiteraven |
Herrick will also buy a few more blunt arrows, to make up for those he used, and a few more weapon blanches(to round his numbers to 40 of each in total.)
Sorry to everyone for my lack of posting recently. Life has really ticked up much more than normal; and it really has been impacting my ability to post for the last few days. I should be able to catch up Sunday, but I do still want to apologize. Feel free to bot me as needed so as not to delay the group.
Princess Xen |
Purely based on the scenario cover, which the GM made available on the map page, IF there are undead, don't forget that Xen can affect them with her mind powers AND possibly channel to control some of them.
Princess Xen |
Ok, Ambush Planing:
Village
Some of us on the roof, some on the ground. Place yourselves on the map.
We should start close enough to be Hasted by Rhuul.
I have no long term buffs. I would prefer to wait until whatever enemy is close to initiate combat, but that might go counter to some archer;s desires.
Garmit |
Garmit is on board with all of that. He would prefer to be on ground and in cover to pounce with a sneak attack when they get close.
GM Rinaldo |
Rhuul, there aren't "open slots" for a spontaneous caster like a bard. Any time you gain new spells, you select them immediately as part of leveling up, then they are fixed. You do get "swap a spell known" as a class feature at certain levels, but you still have to make the decision of whether and what during level up.
We'll finish out this combat, but we need to make Rhuul fully legal before we continue.
Rhuul Irontoe |
I know. They are spells that I never got around to picking. I thought I had done my level ups, but I had just put a placeholder in (+1) that I never filled.
The fix for that is
level 4: Greater path of glory
level 3: Displacement
and
level 2: Swap out of path of glory for cats grace.
GM Rinaldo |
Further explanation on my reading of the Chains of Perdition:
A floating chain of force with hooks at each end appears within an unoccupied space of your choosing within range. This chain is a Medium object that has a 10-foot reach.
As a move action, you can move the chain up to 30 feet.
I read that as saying you pick a location for it, and it attacks your target as long as the target is in range. If it automatically followed your target as it moved, there would be no reason for it to have a 10' reach - it would just be wherever the target was.
Xichikitte |
Fair enough. If I thought it mattered I might respectfully argue further that using RAI it moves automatically at 30 ft per round (so a slightly faster opponent might be still within striking range), but clearly RAW support your conclusion.
And GM's ruling is law. :-)
GM Rinaldo |
Work is very busy right now and we have a family emergency requiring travel this weekend; between that and US Holiday / Paizocon next weekend, my ability to post will be limited. Things will be slow for the next week or so.
Xichikitte |
Thanks GM. Real Life comes first.
GM Rinaldo |
I'm awake post-convention, but now doing catch up housework. I plan to post tonight or tomorrow.
Lin Kai |
I'll be on vacation starting from tomorrow til 17 Jun. Will be bringing my laptop along though, and will still try to keep up with my posting. But if I fall behind, please go ahead and bot.

Character level (for subtier determination): 10 (YAY!)
Normal or Slow track: Normal
Day Job check or Downtime activity: Survival Take 10: 10 + 14 = 24
Herrick is spending 2 Prestige and has been invited to join an elite hunting lodge allowing him to use survival for day job checks.
In his downtime he is focusing on inner tranquility and growth, taking a level of monk(zen archer) and selling his armor(for half price=1050gp). He is buying a Bane Baldric for 10k, upgrading his cloak from +1 to +2(+3k), leaving him with 8090gp and 3 sp.
EDIT: I am going to replenish the arrows that he used, and score another 2 applications of silver weapon blanch for a 10 more gold.

Probably have some spend to do.. currently thinking
cloak of resistance upgrade to +3 (5k)
And maybe get a magic (+1) adamantine longspear to hang the old banner off.
Herrick Whiteraven |
Spending 2 prestige for a wand of mage armor. Will have a friendly character that has a high UMD or can cast Arcane spells activate it on him from time to time.
Also spending 2k for a cracked vibrant purple prism ioun stone.(holds one 1 lvl of spell/I will adjust this for the situation) BTW I know you can use a scroll to cast a spell for spell storing, but I am unclear if you can use a wand. If not I will get a few scrolls after I get some ideas.
Xichikitte |
Still working out my purchases. Would prefer a staff for my buff spells but can't really afford it yet.
@GM, I'm not quite clear on purchasing a custom staff. Can I commission one with the specific spells I want or do I have to get one "off the shelf"? I have a bunch of Prestige saved up so I don't think availability is a problem, but can I spend 2PP for 750gp multiple times at the same time?

So, the last game leveled Xen to 9. If allowed I shall use a home game chronicle from Hell's Rebel's to level Xen to 10.
With that money and new fame she will purchase both Flying boots and a Mesmerist mask. The mask is one of the few (maybe the only) mesmerist specific items. There is a 22k whip I have my eye on that lets me deliver enchantment spells with the whip and if I do damage AND you fail a fairly low will save (18 if you are the target of my stare) you take -5 to saves versus my enchantment spells for a minute. Not sure its worth it.
GM Rinaldo |
Xichi, there is no custom item creation at all in PFS, including for staves. You have to buy off the rack. :-(
Xen, are you talking about a "campaign mode" chronicle? I'm not sure what the rules are applying FtF chronicles to a PbP character that was in play at the time. If you want, I can check with the PbP VOs about it. When did you play the Hell's Rebels game?
Princess Xen |
We played the campaign a while back. Finished it up a couple months ago. The GM, who is a venture officer, offered PFS chronicles, explaining you can apply them to existing PFS characters if they are the right level range. I admit I did not question him further on that, which is why I am asking you about it.

GM Rinaldo |
Xen, I confirmed with VC Hmm that as long as the Hell's Rebels game occurred between the start and end dates for Part 3, you can apply it now same as you would for a GM chronicle.
If the game occurred before we started part 3, then it would not be eligible, as it would have to have been applied immediately when you finished the previous scenario.

Everyone post once you've completed your between-session updates and are ready to go.
And I love the "downtime RP" going on. :-)
Herrick Whiteraven |
Had one question then ready to go. I know you can use a scroll to cast a spell into a spell storing item, but can you use a wand?
Rhuul Irontoe |
Generally if you become eligible for a chronicle because of level, you can apply it between scenarios after you become eligible for it.
That is how a lot of GM chronicles work.
