Osric Longstride |
Osric joins the others searching for a way through the wall.

The wall comes to blur for most of the pathfinders, and eventually disappears from mind and sight to reveal a small cavity in the rocky wall. Inside it lies the famed tapestry of Hao Jin, which appears to be intact save a few dried bloodstains on it. These stains clutter around an ominous symbol-a demonic ape face
Darius Swiftblade |
"My guess is this particular door to the tapestry leads to somewhere associated with Angazhan.. Which sounds great..
Darius Swiftblade |
Indeed.. Darius will cast Extended Bear's Endurance on himself and coat his blade with a Bless Weapon Oil.. He'll drink an Antitoxen and Antiplague, along with a Soothe Syrup..
"Who wants to go first?"
GM Lithrac |
As he presses his fingers in an intricate pattern, Darius nods to his companions, indicating how to proceed. Then he suddenly disappears from view. One after another, you repeat the ritual and vanish in turn.
You instaneously travel to a hot and muggy jungle. A small sphere of pulsing blue light forms nearby each of you, yet only you are able to see it. The heat is dreadful in there, and you sweat heavily under your armor. Do you have any means of resisting extreme heat? In any case, I'll need two Fortitude saves from each of you as you progress in the jungle.
A single path leads away from the clearing, taking would-be travelers deeper into the unknown. Five sets of booted humanoid footprints and a familiar set of spiky tracks lead down the path. It gradually slopes upward and away from what was once the shore of a lake, then continues through the thick jungle for another mile.
Cairo. |
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20
Fort: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 21
Cairo, though used to the desert, is not used to the poor humidity as he sweats profusely. He wipes his brow as he sees how the others are doing.
Arnthoth Koortuskson |
Fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
Fort: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21
Being more accustomed to more norhtern climes, Arnthoth grumbles continually to Volfie as the party trudges along, occasionally cursing as he slaps an insect away from his face.
Osric Longstride |
Osric takes his ranger training to heart and tries to mitigate the heat as best he can.
Bonus from Endurance feat included in rolls below.
Fort + Endurance: 1d20 + 11 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 11 + 4 = 23
Fort + Endurance: 1d20 + 11 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 11 + 4 = 19

Fort Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Ace succumbs to the extreme heat. Guys, Ace don't play out here. S%*~'s too hot.
Darius Swiftblade |
Darius pulls a wand out.. "I have this here wand that should set everyone straight.. Bought this for a trip to Rahadoum a few months ago.." He gives everyone a tap, including the animal companions.. You all gain Endure Elements..
Atum Nakhti |
Atum raises his visor to look at Darius as the mage casts a spell on everyone to stave off the heat. "You've been to Rahadoum? Wonderful country; my homeland, in fact. Traveled across the wastes to Osirion just to prove I could. That's how I came across a sphinx and was inducted into the Living Monoliths."
"She asked me a question and I stood there for three days trying to think of the answer. I may not be smart but I'm determined; at least that's what she said when she woke me up after I finally collapsed on the fourth morning. I'm still pondering it but that's just the nature of the Order, or so I'm told."
Darius Swiftblade |
"I was there for a few days on a mission.. Nice place I suppose, well unless your a divine type.. Quite enjoyed this particular bathhouse there.."
GM Lithrac |
You finally reach the end of the trail, which end up in a clearing. There, a half-elf matching the portrait you found earlier is currently talking to two of his companions, each bearing a wayfinder. There's no telling where the other two Pathfinders are. "... and there, we can build the main hall, about thirty feet long with arches building up to the sky. We'll have to do something about the heat, though. Great Sarenrae, I'm suffocating here!"
When you approach, he realizes you're there and addresses you with his proud and friendly tone. “Friends! Welcome! I was wondering if they’d send agents to find us. I’m glad to see they wasted no expense in sending some of the very best. Rest assured that all is well and your services are no longer needed. The crew and I will be settling here within the Expanse to open a new lodge. Isn’t that wonderful? Please, consider your mission a success and report this great news back to the Grand Lodge. Thank you for your services.”
Ace of the Flesh Puppets |
Ace is sweating like mad, his rockstar tunic tied in a turban on his head. His physique is less than impressive compared to his "bodyguard" Atum. Sweet, now we can get out of this miserable jungle. First round is on Flaxseed!
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (10) + 23 = 33
Ace of the Flesh Puppets |
Ace sighs. Too good to be true, huh? Ace turns back to the Pathfinders. Well maybe we can still be of some use... I'm Ace of the Flesh Puppets, perhaps you have heard of me? Ace slams on his strings for a deep metal melody.
GM Lithrac |
Nikolai answers Cairo first. "As you can see, we're fine. We're building a new lodge here. Isn't is the best place to do so? A place that the Society has hardly ever explored until now, ripe with opportunity."
As Ace starts his metal riff, Nikolai's gaze changes a little, and you catch a hint of surprise in his eyes. "What... Yes, a lodge. The Decemvirate's envoy must be right, it is high time we built a lodge. I've always wanted it, though many would deny me the opportunity of doing so."
Ace of the Flesh Puppets |
Ace elbows Atum in the side and whispers to him.
A lodge, huh? How would we go about building one of these things.... Ace keeps him talking while Atum wracks his lunkhead brain for an idea.
Atum Nakhti |
Let's see. . . how would Cha 7 respond to that?
"Hey! Everybody! He's been enchanted. Either fix it or I'll tie him up and take him back the hard way."
Darius Swiftblade |
Darius whips out a scroll of dispel magic and gives it a go.. He'll aim it at the VC..
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25 Well that is by far the best i can do lol..
I believe that is up to caster level 14..
GM Lithrac |
A brief flash of light surrounds the Venture-Captain, who now looks at you with a serious frown.
"Who are you to use your petty magic against a Venture-Captain?! I believe I gave you a direct order, report to Absalom immediately! ... unless you're not Pathfinders but impostors. I'll leave you a last chance to leave, lest Sarenrae's blade should strike you down."
Atum Nakhti |
Atum will start moving in to smack the Venture-Captain with the butt of his bec de corbin. (So in other words I think we're going into initiative.)
Arnthoth Koortuskson |
Arnthoth grips his weapon and growls. "This is not the way a Venture Captain should behave. What has taken over you? Who is this envoy you speak of? We are hear under orders of Farabellus. Are you saying we your orders should override the orders of one more senior than yourself?!"
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Ace of the Flesh Puppets |
Ace shrugs. Well, I didn't hire you for your subtlety...
Atum Nakhti |
Atum's not the overly violent type. If you guys are able to talk him down, Atum is fine with that. But if he continues to be uncooperative, Atum's vote is to knock him out and carry him back.
Ace of the Flesh Puppets |
Ace intercedes, drawing on his innate magical gifts. Woah, can't we all just get along and drink like men are supposed to.
Charm Person on the Venture Captain. DC 19. Going for an opposed Charisma check against whatever is controlling him.
Osric Longstride |
Just because...
Osric activates his Shining Wayfinder' s detect evil ability.
The needle points to the nearest evil aura. Probably the strongest if two equidistant.

GM Lithrac |
Arntoth, that isn't enough, though you didn't miss by five or more.
Cairo, he won't respond to you because the others took offensive actions despite his warnings.
Ace, your spell doesn't land.
Nikolai frowns, unsheathes his scimitar and yells. "I've had enough. You will learn your place and not question your superior or cast feeble spells at him."
One of his companions seems dubious, however, and won't engage you.

Darius Swiftblade |
"Good Lord.. At least don't try to kill him.."
Darius enchances his blade to +4 keen as a swift and then uses spell combat to cast Bladed Dash.. He charges forth to the VC and takes a swing with the flat of his blade, and then swings twice more with his attack actions..

Bounce off? As in missed? Or some magical effect? Regardless of confirming the crit still would do its base damage..
Darius Swiftblade |
Gothca, so he has a super high AC and the module is gonna make us kill him.. Sweet.. Always wanted to murder a VC!
