No noise comes from the other side. Sedlarjan opens the door, thus revealing what was once an exercise yard for inmates. It is now a choked yard filled with dead grass, animal nests, and trash. The yard is open to the sky and at the north end the ruins of a gallows can be seen. In the northwest corner of the yard a small, rickety wooden platform leads up to a single, heavy door. A set of thick double doors can been seen in the south and east walls. In the middle of the courtyard rests a giant scorpion that immediately springs to life and attacks!

This large room was recently cleaned—piles of trash are swept into the corners, the six tables and dozen benches here are spotless, and the majority of the spider webs and vermin nests were cleaned from the corners. A set of sturdy double doors sit in the south wall, another is set in the west wall, and a single door in the northwest corner leads north into a small kitchen.
A shady-looking man and a woman with pale skin and shockingly white eyes are there, ready for you.

Löthan, you aren't flanking, because Sedlarjan has got a reach weapon and doesn't threaten the rogue's square.
Agnes, please don't forget to add the -4 penalty to ranged attacks if your target is in melee (unless you have the Precise Shot feat).
Löthan's attack misses, mimicking his twin brother. Luckily for them, Agnes fares much better with a well-aimed acid jet. The shady character yells in pain, his face half-dissolved from the effect of the acid.

There isn't much to be found in the room, though you search the two bodies and find some items.
The rogue had a chain shirt, a masterwork rapier, a masterwork dagger, a treasure map set in Varisia, and a magical potion.
The sorceress had three magical potions, a scroll and a studded leather armor.
In addition to conventional means (detect magic then a Spellcraft check), a scroll can be identified with the read magic cantrip/orison, and potions may be identified with a Perception check.
