GM Lithrac |
Discussion thread is now open. As mentioned in the title, we're going to play the whole Destiny of the Sands trilogy, so please bear in mind the points in the recruitment thread.
Once you're ready, please post with your chosen character here, indicating your PFS #, your initiative, sense motive and perception modifiers.

Also, Iggy is part of the War (Tactics) Sub-Domain as an inquisitor. This gives him the ability to grant one ally within 30 feet to roll initiative twice and take the best result. Once the party is finalized, I'll probably just choose one ally to benefit from this each time.

... which means you need to have enough fame to buy it, or to have it on a CS.
Buri, I'm curious. Do you have a special archetype that allows you to pick the Tactics subdomain (or the War domain for that matter)? I don't think it can be picked by druids.
Alright, four out of five showed up, so that leaves two slots for people who didn't use the signup sheet.
We currently have a fighter (dervish dancer), a druid (saurian shaman), an inquisitor and a fighter (unbreakable). I think the best picks would be an arcane caster and a divine caster (healer). When I look at the people on the recruitment thread, I think Ardisen (arcane) and Llathander (divine) would be the best picks. Moreover, I've already run a couple games for Ardisen, and he's a very reliable, friendly person, so I'm happy to have him aboard.
Gameplay thread should be up shortly.

Is it not considered a mundane item? I thought those were always available.

Yea, Buri is a Saurian Shaman. Its an archetype from Ultimate Magic that gives access to the war domain. I put a tab in Buri's sheet with its description.

Cheers Lithrac.

I'm just updating his equipment. PaizoCon UK saw alot of updates and advancement to the character, but I'll have those finished in the next hour or so.

Always Available Items
You may always purchase the following items or equipment so long as you’re in an appropriately sized settlement (see above).• All basic armor, gear, items, and weapons from Chapter 6 of the Core Rulebook, including Small and Large-sized items. This does not include equipment made from dragonhide, but it does include equipment made from the other special materials, such as alchemical silver and cold iron (see the Special Materials section on page 154 of the Core Rulebook). All mundane (completely nonmagical) weapons, armor, equipment, and alchemical gear found in any other source.
Here is the rules reference. Amazing about the war domain, I didn't know that! This archetype sounds definitely interesting.
Buri Sunwalker |
It is. I usually go with vanilla druid but then I thougth wth, you cant go wrong with dinossaurs!
Btw thanks for the reference. And wow, they made dragon hide specially the exception. Never thougth it was that good, with its price tag its pretty lame for anyone except the druid.

So our average level is 3.5 by my working from 2,3,3,3,5,5. Will that have us playing Tier 1-2 or 4-5?
As per the guide I believe it means we do the 4-5 tier with the 4 player adjustment.
GM Lithrac |
Grey area actually, since .5 rounding up or down depends vastly on table variation. 3.5 rounded up would be 4 so no 4-player adjustment, but as we have a level 2 at the table, I'll round down to 3, which means tier 4-5 with 4-player adjustment.
Don't worry too much Buri, the first scenario isn't very fight-intensive (much, much safer than Thornkeep 1 you've just done!).
Will anyone level up after the first scenario?

Alright so I just got a call that I'm being deployed on a fire in northern Idaho. I can be out for any where to a few days up to 2 weeks. Sorry for the short notice but its a much as I get. I'll post as soon as I'm home. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Feel free to GM NPC me.
His tactics are:
Charge+ Power attack (Archetype changed AC penalty to only -1)
Attempt to trip if able (and only 2 legs)
GM Lithrac |
We are almost at the end of part 1. Could everyone that hasn't done so already please roll their Day job? Please kindly say so if you haven't got one so that I can hand out the chronicle sheets as quickly as possible when we're done and have a seamless transition to part II (hopefully).
The following people have already done it:
Chasik - 26 (50 gp)
Quarr - 15 (10 gp)
Ignatius Van Hjorder |
FYI, I'm taking my boys camping this weekend. I'll be unable to post from Friday morning (Pacific Time) until Monday night.
Quarr |
Yes that is what i used as I thought i was good. After you saying this I did a bit more research and looks as if I was wrong.
If you would like I can purchase a potion of fox's cunning for this duration or we can negate the 2 damage from each bomb. Up to you I guess. Still learning a few of the in's and out's. (I am sitting on plenty ogold so it shouldn't be a problem there and if I had known I would have had one hence the purchase of the sipping jacket.
EDIT: After reading a bit more. there is a lot of discussion on this jacket it seems. as minute / level seems to be the overall ruling of not being legal either hence no fox's cunning use, so I shall no longer use that in the jacket and will have to find something more useful.
If you want though I can still purchase the one potion as it was my mistake on the way it was construed.
GM Lithrac |
Since all the encounters were in the same day, I'm fine with you purchasing a potion of fox's cunning, counting it as used and prepare another extract for the day. It changed a lot of things over the fights, so let's do it like we did until now for the reminder of the scenario (this is the last fight and it's almost over).
For the next scenarios, we'll have to use the official ruling (no fox's cunning, etc.)
Quarr |
yup no problem and thanks for the understanding. All it added was the +2 to Hit / dam / and Dc which none of them were close to making when failed.
I will find something else to use in it. possibly a haste potion as that is a legal one for an additional bomb attack for 5 rounds
Quarr |
Yup at level 8. Time to scour the spellbooks for potions with round limits.
GM Lithrac |
Here are the Chronicle Sheets for Part I. Please download them and keep them on your hard drive since I won't leave them on the cloud for very long.

Please let me know there if you are levelling up, and if any of your scores in the Campaign Info tab have changed. You can also notify me of any purchases you make in the present thread.
Ardisen Greymore |
Yeah, definately more than Dark Archive I feel. Ardisen is more about polictical and social maneuvering than he is about researching artifacts and such. Granted he has a wealth of knowledge and his own magical abilites to fall back on, but those are his means to an end. Plus, once I hit 20 Fame he'll become Lord Greymore!
