Dylara Yssal |
Dylara bends over and looks into the well, looking for the objects the party's searching, possible traps, and creatures dwelling in the well.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
She takes her grappling hook and silk rope from her backpack, and ties them together. "If there aren't any traps, we should be able to climb down and retrieve the items."
If the well looks safe, Dylara will lower the rope and climb down.
Climb: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Melon the Roc |
If Dylara climb down, Melon will fly down so she can stay close to her friend.
The gusts of wind created by Melon's wings cause a small cloud of dust to appear where she takes flight.
Miko Teppen |
Miko is curious about what Dylara would find down in the well, but isn't too keen on going down there herself. She waits on top for now, and has a good look around.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
тυιcн |
Tuich pulls out her sling and readies it with a projectile, scanning the landscape as she does so. She isn't thrilled at the thought of climbing down into this hole either.
"Maybe I'm just paranoid but this feels really... trappy."
Miko Teppen |
Because it's trappy!
Clap along if you feel there might be something on the roof
Khismia al-Khair |
"Hey, I don't mind going down there with Dylara, might be she will need some help", said Khismia. She gave her horse to Sabah and started quickly climb down the rope. She was barely holding herself with her equipment on that rope, but still made it safe all the way down into well.
Some weird shadows run across cave, when she said couple words, making her shield glow.
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (11) - 1 = 10
I cast light as I'm down there
Dylara Yssal |
"Could those who are still up help Melon descend?" Dylara asks, places her hands next to her mouth as she calls out to those next to the well. "I'll untie her once she's here!"
"Melon, stay and let the others tie you up!"
Taking 10 on Handle Animal for a total of 20.
тυιcн |
Tuich leans over the well and yells down. "Do you need her? Is there more to this than just a hole in the ground?"
Khismia al-Khair |
"It's wet and tight here," said Khismia, pointing narrow passage, "we might need to crawl there. I don't think Melon will be comfortable here, where she cannot fly. Is it possible to leave her protecting Sabah up there?"
"- A-ha, great mother! You left small child to care about horses and hungry giant bird will guard him? You will die in this hole and it will become your grave, and no one will be able to come and help Sabah, because of that monster.."
"- She will be great! Stop your false prophecies!"
"- We'll see..", haunts voice brought some doubts that spirit will stay aside.
Dylara Yssal |
Dylara hesitates. She's doesn't feel very comfortable without Melon around, but figures it's probably best for little Sabah.
"There's a tunnel. Melon will fit, but if Sabah's not coming... It may indeed be better if Melon stays with her..."
It takes a moment for Dylara to issue the command, but she finally manages to do so. "Melon, defend Sabah!"
Taking 10 again, for a total of 20 while 10 is needed for the Defend trick.
Khismia al-Khair |
"Thank you!", said Khismia and immediately felt a forceful kick in her back and almost felt, putting her hands in mud.
"- See! Other people care about my child more than you!", Augoyon never were satisfied, but Khismia was used to that.
"- Why don't you want to stay and protect her?"
"- I'd like to, but it's your fault I can not do it", spirit manifested as a fast shadow moving around cave, bringing light breeze in stale air.
Woman decided not to answer. Sometimes ghost wraith was a nice thing to have at hand, but it was very tiresome to listen her blames all the time.
тυιcн |
"There's a tunnel?" Tuich calls back, surprised. "Why is there a tunnel at the bottom of a... never mind. Alright, you're going to need support; I'm coming down." She said the last part with conviction, thinking that if she was going to refuse to do certain things, she owed the group full participation in what remained.
Tuich clambers over the edge to lower herself down via the rope...
Climb: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Yeow. Well, I guess this is a DC 5 "A rope with a wall to brace against" situation so that's still a success? Otherwise she just fell on her butt, since she can't really "make no progress" if she's heading downward. Erm... unless she gets stuck? :op
Vincent Blackwood |
"I'll come down and help too. If there's caves, they might be inhabited. Could be dangerous." Vincent climbs carefully down the rope.
Vyk Tyr |
Being the last to descend, Vyk awkwardly shuffles his feet in the presence of Sabah and Melon -- neither of whom seemed particularly fond of him.
He put his hand on the rope and hung over the opening, smiling assuredly as he could, and said, "Don't worry. I'll make sure they all come back in one piece."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
But Sabah and Melon both seemed to recoil in fear. Vyk sighed dejectedly and descended the rope quickly.
Climb: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
The horns. Children never like the horns.
Miko Teppen |
Miko manages to get in just before Vyk, taking her time to descend into the hole.
Taking 10
Dylara Yssal |
"Okay, let us move forward."
Dylara takes her shield and spear from her back as she follows the tunnel. She also keeps a watchful eye on her surroundings, expecting to encounter traps or icky creatures.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
GM Kyshkumen |
As Dylara crawls through the tunnel the light from Khismia seems to dim almost like the darkness was trying to consume it. After about 10-15 feet the tunnel opens up to a grand chamber.
All current light sources are cut in half here. Low light vision can only see 30 feet and normal vision is down to 15. Vyk can see his normal 60 of darkvision.
Miko Teppen |
Miko casts some dancing lights to illuminate the area.
Khismia al-Khair |
Khismia waited some time looking Dylara's back disappearing in a passage. As she lost it, woman started to follow her. Echo sounded around as she stepped through the water of narrow tunnel. "I'm following you", she whispered.
"- And I'm following you", haunts voice sounded loud and clear in her mind, sending shivers down her spine.
Shield and spear are ready
Dylara Yssal |
"Hey, check this out," Dylara says when she reaches a large room with some kind of basin. "What do you suppose this is?"
Dylara guidance on herself, then scans the room for traps and the items the party's looking for.
I'd like to take my time and take 20, for a total of 30. If not possible I'd like to take 10, for a total of 20. If not possible, here's a roll:
Perception, guidance: 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 1 = 16
тυιcн |
"Is there some magic interfering with the light down here?" Tuich ponders before chanting, "మేజిక్ కనుగొను!" (Detect Magic)
Vyk Tyr |
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Vyk looks around but is seemingly distracted. His encounters with Sabah reminding him his days in the orphanage where he grew up. The lay brothers and sisters did their best to include him, and he would always love them for that. But, sometimes, the children -- they could be very cruel.
At Tuich's question, Vyk absently scans for magical signatures. Detect Magic
K. Arcana: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
GM Kyshkumen |
As Miko sends the small lanterns around the room it begins to take shape. A dark pool fills the center of this vast chamber spilling out of its cracked basin. The trickle of water flows west through a short tunnel of rough-hewn stone and pools at the bottom of a collapsed well. Alcoves set in the walls give the illusion of staring at the flared hood of a cobra. Two altars face each other across the pool in the chamber’s northwest and southeast corners. A statue of a robed human male stands in the northeast corner, and what must have been its twin lies toppled in the southwest corner.
The room glows with a magical aura.
I put some dancing lights out for you Miko. Feel free to move them around as needed. They only give off a 5 foot radius at the moment. Dylara are you moving around the cavern or just staying put for now?
Miko Teppen |
What an odd way of making a well. I wonder how old this place is.
Miko moves the lights to illuminate the northwest altar, see if she can make out any kind of religious symbolism.
K(Rel): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Khismia al-Khair |
Khismia looked around, trying to recognize any symbols.

"Are you sure, this was build by Osirians? Might it be some genies, who enchanted this chamber", she tried to remember, what she learn about other planes and their inhabitants.

"This place seems to have some sort of divine blessing around it. Maybe it was consecrated or something."

тυιcн |
"This... is not a well." Tuich casts a sideward glance towards Vyk. "Magic, yes; the place is suffused with it. But why do you think it's a diving blessing?"
Vyk Tyr |
"Divine magic makes my skin itch," he says quietly. He cleared his throat uncomfortably and moved toward the broken statue, analyzing it carefully.
Translation: The GM told me so. :-p
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Khismia al-Khair |
"I don't feel any divine power in here", said Khismia, moving and looking into water.
"- Of course, you are not! Because you are cursed! Lady of the Graves gave you her divine power, but you failed her..."
"- I should not listen to you. I still can cure wounds by the power of her name, so she still believes in me. It's because of you, I cannot get any other power, because I should set your undead spirit free."
"- I am dead, because of your clumsiness. My purpose in this world is to make sure, you never do a same mistake. And I have power to make you listen to me"
Khismia stopped for a moment, holding her breath and feeling a crushing force, pressing her heart, but then Augoyon let her go and woman exhaled loudly looking into water.
I want to see, is there something inside the pool
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Vincent Blackwood |
"I'd guess one of two things. Either it was a well and they carved these chambers out when its source ran dry, or the well is a cleverly disguised entrance to this place, whatever it is." Vincent sticks close to the others, disliking the oppressive shroud around them. He casts a Light spell on his blade as he draws it.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11 to keep an eye out for danger.
Kyshkumen |
As the lights move about and Vyk goes to inspect one of the statues a low hiss comes from the north west corner as a serpent with a snake head on both ends slithers out from behind the alter.

Didn't walk up to it because I would have to double move. I don't feel like eating a full attack for no benefit this round.
Dylara Yssal |
Dylara takes a 5-foot step up to Khismia, and takes a moment to study the two-headed snake.
She then moves her arm with the spear back, and throws the weapon at the snake.
Thrown Spear, Studied Target: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 5 + 1 = 17 Damage, Studied Target: 1d6 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 1 = 9

Miko cast a Daze (DC 16) at the double-headed snake. I might be able to stop one of the heads. I wonder what happens if the ends fight.

"Whoa, a pushmi-pullyu!" Not waiting for Vincent's analysis, she dashes forward (directly South of Vincent) and fires her previously-prepared sling at the slithery-slimy.

GM Kyshkumen |
Vyk scores a direct hit with his ray of frost. It seems to have no effect on the snake like creature as it slithers forward. When it gets into range Khismia takes a stab with her spear, but it glances off the creatures thick skin. So far no one has hit it's AC but Vyk, it does not seem to have any physical DR yet. Just want to make it clear why you are not doing damage. Based on Vyk's attack it looks like it might have some cold resist or immunity. I recommend working together using add another to hit this creatures high AC.
One of the snake heads lashes out at Kishmia.
