Miko's expertise lead the Pathfinders quickly through the tunnels and to the surface. Stepping out into the bright light the Pathfinders find two tall sandstone outcroppings rise to the north and south, channeling whistling wind and stinging sand through this pass. The carcass of a giant serpentine beast covered in dried blisters lies in a heap at the gorge’s narrowest point, the body savaged by some powerful predator.

Strong wind:
-2 penalty to ranged attack rolls and perception checks.

Light rubble:
-2 on acrobatic checks in this area.

Please note the above conditions and the effects they will have on your characters. Also note that the raised areas on the north and south are 50ft higher then your current location.

"I'm always up for a fight, but if you say this man might be convinced to join us peacefully, that's acceptable too. Maybe both! He'll join us after some special 'convincing.'" Vincent pounds his fist into his open palm excitedly.

He glances around as the group emerges into the light, shielding his eyes from the stinging sands. "I think I found your Death Worm, Miko. More like a dead worm, really..."

Melon uses 1 move action. Dylara then activates Beast's Fury to get Melon next to the creature and let her attack. Melon then attacks again, using her standard action.

Beast’s Fury:
As a swift action, you can expend one use of mythic power to imbue your animal companion, cohort, eidolon, familiar, or bonded mount with some of your mythic power. As an immediate action, that creature can move up to its speed and make an attack with one of its natural weapons. When making this attack, the creature rolls twice and takes the higher result. Any damage dealt by this attack bypasses all damage reduction. A creature affected by this ability can take these actions in addition to any others that it takes during its turn.

I keep forgetting to use the active part of Impossible Speed when we're out of combat. The best of intentions and all that. Also, I can't climb with my sword out. It takes a move action to sheathe, and both hands to climb.

"That section of cliff looks easier to climb," Vincent suggests to the others, pointing to the eastern area. He puts away his sword as he intones a prayer to Gorum to grant Vincent additional speed that he may bring his blade to bear against his foes.

Move action sheathe, standard action for Impossible Speed. I now have a move speed of 90 ft (80 in armor, I think?) for the next hour. That should allow me to get up the cliff next round.

The attack's from Beast's Fury, which takes a swift action for Dylara to active and an immediate action for Melon to make use of. Melon then spent a standard action trying to break free, and (if she succeeded) a move action to move away from the creature.

Sczarni

I got confused as you made reference to a move action. I wasn't going to change anything as nothing hit and she did not break free. You don't have to take the grappled penalty when attacking the grappler as they also have the grappled condition and the to penalties cancel each other out. Still no Vyk so I will move him along behind Vincent for now. I see I did a miscalculation in Melons damage. I will reroll as the dice numbers were a bit larger then they should have been.

Bite Damage: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (4, 1) + 7 = 12
Constrict: 2d4 + 7 ⇒ (2, 2) + 7 = 11

So current HP is 4/27. My apologies, this creature has a lot of 2d6 and 2d8 damage rolls that I have to convert down a size and I have not had a lot of practice with those numbers.

The creature can see more snacks coming decides to make room for the next one by swallowing it's current prey.

At 1/4 speed, 80 ft move speed, that's 40 ft up on round 2. I choose to only go 35 feet up instead.

There's a very good chance I'm going to meet the same fate as the bird. Consider the following: Round 3 the creature moves up to Vincent and attack/grabs. If it misses (unlikely based on its attack vs the bird and Vincent is flat-footed while climbing), it'll probably hit on the subsequent attack of opportunity. Vincent can't greatsword while grappled and spends his turn doing nothing of interest. Meanwhile everyone else is still too far away to help due to the cliffs.

Round 4 the creature sustains grapple. Total that's bite damage twice(or once plus swallow whole), constrict damage twice, plus any possible rake attacks it might have. 19 AC isn't saving me from that.

On the other hand, there's always a chance that it doesn't actually have reach, since it doesn't seem bipedal and it's only large... And then I'm only "probably" screwed. I'd suggest a summoned creature to slow it down (if it wastes a round attacking a summon, that's a round we have to get into position), but I'm not sure if we could get a summon out in time to help.

About the only thing Tuich could summon that might help (swoop and distract) is an eagle. But her summon range is only 30' and she's not even at the 50' cliff face yet. So it'd have to burn time just getting to the thing, and Summon Monster is a full-round invocation before that. Ergo the oracle's no help -- too little, too late.

I suggest Vincent doesn't engage the creature till the others also arrive. Maybe slow down the climbing just before reaching the top. Together we can beat it!

sorry, me being slow because of Easter activities here. I planned to use my Wild Arcana to cast spell I don't know via Mythic Surge. I'd like to spend 2nd level slot for that, and create 1d3 1st-level creatures to actually support us. Anyway, I need to get closer to do that

That's why I just went 35 ft up. I'd prefer to not be in range of attacks by myself.

Khismia moved closer and started chanting in Qadiran, calling for help of her deity and asking her to send some allied creature to distract the beast attention, while fighters can engage it.

Using Wild Arcana to cast Summon Monster I as 2nd level spell and summon 1d3 ⇒ 2 celestial eagles 25ft + 5 * (6/2) = 40ft up in the air.
Cast time: 1 round

Vyk's mouth hangs open as Melon is swallowed. He gives a quiet, "No," before snarling and attempting to climb up the rope.

Climb, last round: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Climb, this round: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Glad to have you back. Was starting to worry that I might have to replace you and in the middle of the fight you were looking forward to. Just to help you catch up, I had you move to the base of the cliff last round and you can climb the cliff this round, but there is no rope so it is a DC 15.

:::::::Round 3::::::::::::

Dylara (Climbing @ 10 feet)
Blue snake thing (6)
Vyk (Climbing?)
Vincent (Climbing @ 15 feet)
Tuich (Moved to cliff)
Khismia (Casting, summon spell as start of next turn)
Miko (Inspiring, posslibe move?)

I listed a brief description of everyones proposed actions. You may wish to add to them or adjust, since there was a lot of tactical talk.

I'll stick to my original plan of climbing.
