Vyk Tyr |
I'm one of the guys who needs to level up to third level. Looking forward to the game.
тυιcн |
And Tuich is one of the girls who needs to level up. :o) Also: Ditto.
Khismia al-Khair |
Hi, there!
I'm probably new one.
First question - are we moving quick, fast-pased play or do you like more RolePlay and rp-based decisions during adventure?
Dylara Yssal |
Hi everyone! I'm Stephan, and I'll be playing Dylara in this game. She's a Nature Fang Druid, and her best friend and animal companion is a roc named Melon.
I'll have to run a check on Dylara's gear, but am otherwise ready to start :)

Miko Teppen |
Hi Khismia and Dylara! This is Miko, the cheerful Razmiran-fled fey-blooded atheist bard, who keeps a touch of that Razmiran divinity: she carries around a ridiculous amount of wands.
As for my purchases: I'm buying wands and scrolls. Tons of them.
I'll update my profile tonight.
Melon the Roc |
Bwahaha! Well it's a Melon, yes :P
I always post my animal companions' actions with separate aliases. So here's Melon's profile, for quick reference :)
тυιcн |
Welcome aboard, new-to-me folks! Tuich is my almost totally ineffectual but sweetheart of an oracle struggling to triumph over a tortured past (nah, that's not an overworked concept at all, is it).
And don't believe GM K's comment, he's an awesome GM. :o)
тυιcн |
Really bad pun, GM. Lovin' it! :o)
Tuich is saving up for a Handy Haversack, so she's exercising restraint in her purchases. Sold off her leather armor for 5 GP and bought a Mithril Shirt for 1,100.
Level-up is done in Hero Lab. I'll be transferring data to the alias profile as time allows, but I'm good to go for play any time you choose to move things forward.
Khismia al-Khair |
Ok, I have updated Khismia's profile. Not much changed, some status outfit, jewellery, couple scrolls and other minor stuff. You know, typical girl's shopping.
As I have squire, I won't doing extra alias for her, but she is pretty nice 9-year-old girl, so if you like, feel free to interact with her as well. I will create alias if it will be often and than think of her background and personality.
тυιcн |
I've never run Tuich alongside another haunted oracle before. It'll be interesting to see the contrast in styles (Khismia seems more viciously tormented for one thing, being bound to a hostile "adult" spirit as she is).
Khismia al-Khair |
Same for Khismia. This is first other oracle she meets.
Her idea of joining Society is finding anything that allows her to get rid of her curse or at least deal with that. Currently, she found none, but she still full of hopes. Using her faction connections, she at least found Sabah.
Tuich and Khismia might exchange some experience during future adventures.
Miko Teppen |
I loved Tuich's backstory, and I'm curious about Khismia's. Perhaps you'll get to expose some of that during the adventure?
Miko Teppen |
The make-up for Vincent always takes a bit longer with that hair. He'll be around shortly
I love how my avatar winks, so I don't have to add winky smilies.
тυιcн |
The make-up for Vincent always takes a bit longer with that hair.
Yeah, the blow-drying alone...
I loved Tuich's backstory, and I'm curious about Khismia's.
Thanks. I think Tuich's background (and her childhood friend Mira's) is some of my best work.
While Tuich's is mostly just heartrending, Kishmia's is intense. It'll be interesting to see how it's revealed over time.
тυιcн |
Kawrock is firmly rooted in avian logic.
Which is to say, he's birdbrained. :op
Vincent Blackwood |
I completely forgot to bookmark the new thread! I'm here! I need to make some leveling decisions... probably buy a new sword? I'll try to get that all done today.
тυιcн |
... I'm having no sleepover with Tuich and Khismia. Way too creepy.
But... but... think of all the fun we could have with a Ouija board!
Melon cocks her head and smells at Miko's new outfit. The roc makes a sneezing sound, shakes her head wildly, and stares at Miko.
"Prro?" Melon says, almost making it sound like a question. She smells at the outfit again, and sneezes once more before taking her distance.
Dylara, we should get your roc Melon and my ost WindDancer (essentially a pseudodragon) together. They could have a nice conversation, and complain about human smells. :o)
... stretching out her neck and sniffing the air as he comes within touching distance.
"Crzkt?"
Her grip tightens a bit more and her head ducks reflexively as he steps through the doorway out of the daylight and into the darker cabin. Once inside she cocks her head to one side then raises her nose, sniffs...
... and sneezes violently.
Stinks!
Looking around and sampling the air more cautiously, she locates the major source of the aroma: the big she'd seen making mouthfiresmoke earlier. She shifts to her little-big's other shoulder to put more distance between them, rewraps her tail around Con-nor's neck, and stretches out on his shoulder to watch.
Dylara Yssal |
Haha, that'd be awesome! :)
And both Tuich and Khismia should meet Miyako, my haunted oracle. We seriously should consider making an all-haunted party! Miyako's haunted by her perverted great-grandfather and her wise grandmother (who scolds her dad), and has the socks of an enemy that surrendered attached to her earrings.
My favorite moment with Miyako was when she was imprisoned, and her escape plan involved burning all her clothes on a pile to set fire to the prison.
тυιcн |
... Miyako..."
Grin. Let me guess, you haven't checked my other aliases, have you. :o) I know all too well about Miyako: Kwin is my guy. :o)
I still lament the premature death of that game. It had so much potential and I was really enjoying the interactions. I liked Kwin's personality too much to let him fade away, so I recast him as an ACG Swashbuckler and he's currently in a Mummy's Mask campaign, but it's not the same without Kol and Miyako and the rest of the crew.
Although there's a gigantic catfolk who's sort of taken on Kol's "Tormentor of Kwin" role.
An "all-haunted' party would definitely be fun. And with enough diversity in Mysteries, it might even work mechanically. Not sure I'd want to subject sweet Tuich to Miyako though; even after all this time your girl still scares me. :o) Talk about a loose cannon!
Dylara Yssal |
I did! I did check your profile and was going to comment on it, but I... completely forgot about it again... xD So awesome to see you again in another game! :)
That game was so much fun, and I loved playing Miyako. I went through quite some effort to get the Vulpine Blooded boon so I could make Miyako into a PFS character. What happens about a month later? Kitsune became legal in PFS... Ah well.
Miyako's one of my favorite characters. The pure weirdness going on in her mind is so funny. Funny to see she still scares you, hehe :P
Also, because 'Miyako Okori' was already taken I used 'Miyako_Okori' as the PFS version's name. I later realized the o_O in the middle of that name makes it seem as if she's giving weird looks at whoever reads it xD
"Whoa!" Miyako lands on her butt when the man overruns her. "Be careful, I'm a lady!"
Miyako gets back up and sheaths her rapier. She walks over to the man who surrendered. "Give me your socks. I will claim them as trophies, which will be your punishment for attacking us."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
"And while you're at it, yes, you should tell us what happened here. We just wanted to talk to [censored name]..."
"Someone killed [censored name] and we were hired to deal with the killer if they came back or anyone else trying to loot the place." He looks at Miyako as if he did not understand her request.
(...)
"Will you join us in our search for the killer, mister-who-still-owes-me-his-socks? You were hired to do so, meaning our goal's pretty much the same. No, seriously, give me your socks."
And some time later:
Miyako accepts the man's socks and holds them up high, one in each hand. "Victory is mine!"
She ties a sock to each of her earrings before she joins the conversation again. "Yes, poor [another censored name]. Or actually just poor mother, because [another censored name]'s dead."
Grandfather: Those socks look good on you!
Miyako: Thank you!
After her current scenario, which is about to start, Miyako will be level 2. So it should be possible to place our haunted oracles together :)
тυιcн |
I did! I did check your profile...
Then please accept my humble apologies for the presumption of off-the-ballness, as you were clearly on the ball. :o)
So awesome to see you again in another game! :)
The feeling is moochal.
I actually managed to get Kol's player invited into one of my existing games, but I guess life started dogging him and he had to drop out shortly thereafter. You're the only other player from that game with whom I've been "reunited."
That game was so much fun...
It seriously was.
The pure weirdness going on in her mind is so funny. Funny to see she still scares you, hehe :P
Her direct, in-his-face manner put Kwin -- who was turning out to be something of a Lothario -- totally off his game. It reminded me a little of how Ryner Lute ("The Legend of the Legendary Heroes") had trouble keeping his feet under him in his early dealings with Ferris Eris, thanks to her constant accusations of him being a pervert and womanizer.
I later realized the o_O in the middle of that name makes it seem as if she's giving weird looks at whoever reads it xD
How remarkably appropriate for her. :op
There are other ways to "reuse" a name -- notice I have two "Tuich"es, there's another WindDancer out there, and I "cloned" Celif when I took over for the player who abandoned her (she was crucial to the storyline at the time). But what you did is smarter and way safer, I think.
After her current scenario, which is about to start, Miyako will be level 2. So it should be possible to place our haunted oracles together :)
Well I'm up for trying it if Khismia is too. And if we can find some more haunted oracles and a GM crazy enough to take that wild ride. :o)

On the ball, yes, but I fell off again :P

I don't know that one, I should probably check it out.

We may also want to find an appriate scenario for them to play. Something... haunted?
GM Kyshkumen, would you be willing to run a haunted party after this scenario? :)
тυιcн |
I don't know that one, I should probably check it out.
Definitely. It's been around a good while but I only recently discovered it myself. Given the swords-and-sorcery genre, it has a fairly deep plot (lots of intrigue, political backstabbing between kingdoms, etc.)
I love the early interactions between Ryner and Ferris. Here are two clips to give you an idea of the flavor. This one (3 minutes) is from when Ryner is being escorted to the castle for what everyone not-in-the-know thinks is his execution.
And this is a great (very brief) "Indiana Jones" tomb raider scene.
In Ryner's defense, he's not the total loser these clips make him out to be. He holds his own quite well when the stakes are right (handily routing a couple of thugs -- physically, without using magic -- when children are danger, for example), and he has more power at his disposal than he can even control (which is why he avoids using all but the simplest of it). I can't say more without spoiling it for you; just goest thou forth and watch.
If there is a haunted party then I want in with my haunted oracle.
Heh... well that's four, potentially.
Dylara Yssal |
@GM Kyshkumen: Nice! That makes for at least 4 haunted party members, meaning we have a legal party! That is, if Khismia's also in for it :)
Now all that's necessary is to find a victim GM to run our game when the time comes. (And maybe 1 or 2 more haunted oracles, if we want to up the chaos?)
Which level is your oracle by the way?
------
@Tuich: The videos are unavailable to me. Probably some region restricted problem, I've had that before :/
I'll check it out though. The way you describe it, it seems like something I'd enjoy watching!
тυιcн |
Bummer.
I don't know what's available where you are, but it's currently on streaming Netflix if you have an account, and I think Funimation has it, too. Maybe CrunchyRoll as well. Google something like watch the legend of the legendary heroes and perhaps you can find a resource that works for you.
Khismia al-Khair |
Hey, hey! Of course, I'm in all-haunted party after Destiny of the Sands series.
Meanwhile, in our Destiny of the Sands game... There are four ladies and Vik :)
Last time, I was in this situation, they call us "Father Turk and his harem": We had clerik/monk of Ilmater, his samurai-bodyguard and three ladies: ranged rogue, melee rogue and 1 rogue/sorcerer. It was my longest game IRL (15 month) and highest character advancement curve (8th level with several raise deads by the way).
Hopefully, our all-haunted group will have as much fun along the way.
Vyk Tyr |
Vyk would never refer to this lovely assortment of women as "his harem." His survival instincts are far too keen. ;-)

Dylara Yssal |
@Tuich: I found it! I'll let you know when I've watched it :)
@Khismia: Awesome! :P
I'm in a homebrew where the party consists of several women, and one man. One of the women constantly tries to matchmake the male character with the others, and mine constantly twists his words and also gives him a hard time. When we'd just started the male player was like... oh god...
@Vyk: I now have this image of a beaten-up Vyk in an alley after saying one wrong word that triggered the crazies... xD
тυιcн |
Aw, Vyk's a sweetheart, he's just... you know... horny. Arr arr arr.
I can't match y'all's stories, but we had an all-psionics game locally where everyone was instructed to select and create their characters in isolation so the first meeting would be a real first meeting.
It was four guys playing, but the party turned out to be all girls (essentially a gadgeteer, a mystic, a fortune teller, and a ninja). And we wound up doing freelance work for a mysterious "troubleshooter" named Adobé who had a butler/cook handling details, so of course we came to be known as "Adobé's Angels."
(Someone *cough* developed the annoying habit of playing the Charlie's Angels theme at appropriate moments.)
After about a year of play there was a girl who wanted to join the game. We couldn't decide if we should require her to stay with the in-game theme and create another female PC, or stick to the meta-theme of opposite-gender characters and demand she build a male character. :op
Vincent Blackwood |
I was waiting on some stuff, but now we're all good. Vincent is updated and I'll get caught up and post. Sorry for being a delay.
тυιcн |
Sorry to disappoint but she never joined. She got involved with PFS at the FLGS instead.
Khismia al-Khair |
Thanks for update.
My update: I will be traveling with my family in area of crappy/expensive/no Internet between 28th and 31st. Please, bot my character during that period, if I will be delaying story flow.
Miko Teppen |
Congratulations, GMK. Must be exciting times.
My own plans involve holidays with no internet 18-27(isn) december
тυιcн |
That's about the best justification you could possibly have, GM Kyshkumen. :o) Congrats!
Dylara Yssal |
I don't know how long this trilogy will take, but just a heads up. My wife is entering her third trimester with our first child. So there may be a break some where in December or January and I will do my best to let you know whats going on.
Gratz! :)
тυιcн |
Sorry about the twist gang, but I have to play Tuich true. For the sake of friends with whom she's virtually faced death (looking at you especially Vyk, but Vincent and Miko as well), she'll support the group effort. But she's not going to involve herself personally with any dirty dealings.
And she feels duty-bound to express her distaste to Torch. I'm hopeful that lack of discretion won't hurt our chances.
Vyk Tyr |
Eh, don't worry about it. I got your back, Tuich. The guy is pretty slimy.
