GM kuey |
Welcome to my PbP game. Hope you would have a blast!
Before we start, I would to share some of my general guidelines. (In spoiler tags to not take up space.)
PbP Matters
1. This discussion thread is open for all OOC matters, so no ooc tag needed. For OOC matters in the gameplay thread, please use the [ ooc ] tag.
2. Please post at least once a day on weekdays, and once over the weekends. More frequent postings are certainly welcomed, especially when you roleplay with each other. And on certain days, I would be able be able to respond quite frequently as well. Nonetheless, I would attempt to curb my enthusiasm to resolve encounters at most once a day to give the chance for everyone to respond. If there're no posts from you for a while, I would NPC your character to keep the game going if necessary. If you need to be away for some time, please try to let me know in advance and we'll work out something. I have not yet institute a minimum frequency of posts to receive a chronicle sheet, and I hope not to start. :)
3. If you have played and/or GMed this scenario before, please do not metagame or spoil the plot. And please let me know.
Rolls and Skill Checks
4. I would do your initiative rolls, as well as perception rolls for the purpose of determining surprise (if any).
5. On knowledge checks for general information, I would usually put them in spoilers with the necessary DCs. Just go ahead to roll, and I'll trust that you would resist reading them if the roll fails (or least not to metagame). (Don’t forget that you can make knowledge checks untrained for DC10.) There might be exceptions for plot-critical information though, where I would explicitly ask for knowledge checks. As for knowledge checks for monster lore, please state what kind of information you want in order of preference together with your rolls, and I'll reveal accordingly, e.g. DR, resistances, special attacks, etc. Otherwise, I would reveal what I think your character would be most interested in.
6. On skill checks where there could be team effort involved, e.g. finding a hidden trail with survival, influencing attitude of NPCs with diplomacy, please be explicit when making the rolls whether you are attempting the check on your own, or whether you are assisting. (And take note of the pros and cons of either.) There might be situations where only one character is allowed to attempt the check (and the rest to assist) – I’ll state so explicitly if that’s the case.
7. On skill checks in general, if I feel you have roleplayed well, e.g. gave a good description of what your character does to search for a trail, came up with creative ways to befriend a hostile NPC, I would give bonuses, or even waive the DC altogether. :)
Roleplaying Matters
8. The maps and handouts link (at the top of the page) would display all the maps, handouts, pictures, etc as the scenario progresses. The most current page would be right on top, while previous ones would be left there for your reference. (Incidentally, Android and IOS has the Google Slides app in case you work off mobile devices.)
9. Please have your full character information up on your character's profile page. Also, please have your stat block updated with the key information. Minimally please have your current hp vs max hp, AC (normal, touch and flat-footed), saves and movement. Feel free to include others.
10. Finally, I do enjoy roleplaying more than rollplaying. Whilst I've accepted that PFS games do skew towards the latter, I would strongly encourage posts to be more than simply dice rolls. :)
Getting Started
Ok with that out of the way, a few tasks before we kick off.
A. Go to the Gameplay page and dot.
B. Go to the maps and handouts page and fill out the table there. (Don’t worry about the 3 boxes below the table, i.e. token, initiative and perception. I’ll take care of that.)
C. In this Discussion thread, do your day job roll (if any), and share whatever OOC information you would like the rest of the party to know about your character e.g. class, level, special abilities. Also, please let me know if you have played this scenario before.
Fantastic! I estimate to get this started by 14 Nov.
CariMac |
Dotting until I can get my character finished up and ready to go.
Bishop 'The Dark Augur' |
GM Kuey I'll forego my day job roll right now because I might attempt to make a roll for my faction card instead.
As far as playing this scenario I have not.
Bishop regardless of being a rogue will find himself fighting up front in the thick of melee so don't be surprised when he does that. Also Bishop appearance does not lend himself to being tagged as a rogue right away dressed more in attire befitting a follower of Dessa.
Luurg |
I've played this one a couple months ago on another character. Luurg will do his best to not think too too hard and provide some interesting commentary.
Day Job: Alchemy: 1d20 + 7 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 5 = 30
Nice. Day Job includes the use of Crafter's Fortune spell.
GM kuey |
@CariMac, no rush. Likely starting next Mon. Waiting for one of my games to complete, and some time for the admin stuff.
@Bishop, just be careful about your 8 hp. Level 1 characters tend to go down quite easily. :)
@Luurg, yes, it's quite hard to find people who have not played the tier 1-2 evergreens, especially The Confirmation which seems to be the most popular of the 3. :)
Bishop 'The Dark Augur' |
Bishop has learned to live life to the fullest and I have seen the way you can roll so I'll be forever ready to be saved by the Luurg or hopefully a dwarven priestess should she show up *wink*
Banesama I would say play whatever you want to it makes for a more interesting adventure when you just play something you've been itching to try.
"Desna will guide us in finding alternate solutions should we need it. Life is not scripted but more befitting the chance roll of the dice."
Begrilda Hammerhild |
Just to fill in the other questions Kuey laid out for us, Begrilda is a Cleric of Bolka (goddess of marriage). She has a focus on charming opponents and otherwise turning them against one another. She pretty much functions as a heal/buff bot aside from that. She's definitely not much for melee, so that would be a definite weakness for you all to be aware of when we get into combat.
I have played this scenario previously. Actually just finished it a week or so ago with another divine dwarf character. Go figure!
Looking forward to playing with all you fine folks!
GM kuey |
Ok, so if I got it right, we have:
- 1 x dwarf cleric
- 1 x half-orc alchemist
- 1 x half-elf alchemist
- 1 x human monk
- 1 x human rogue
Pending CariMac's character, but should make for an interesting team. :)
Ok, let me know where you prefer to be in the marching order, generally in front, in the middle, or in the back.
Luurg |
Luurg prefers to be in front, unless it is a social situation then he steps back to let the talkers do their thing.
Ooo I do need to do some shopping though, Luurg needs a sharper spear!
GM kuey |
Actually, it would be +14. +9 because he is creating alchemical items, and +5 crafter's fortune.
Also, if you wish, you can spend some of his starting gold to purchase other equipment, e.g. a range weapon like a sling for when you don't want to use his bombs.
Luurg |
for when you don't want to use his bombs.
Sacrilege! But I guess that depends on the character.. he isn't a goblin I guess.
Begrilda Hammerhild |
Begrilda will definitely tend towards the back unless we're doing some talking. I also have a bit of shopping to do, but will definitely be done by our start date.
Bishop 'The Dark Augur' |
Bishop would probably be away from Luurg – that orc's appearance needs some work after all – and probably either beside Begrilda or in front of her depending on how much trouble he is about to get in to.
Begrilda Hammerhild |
GM kuey |
Lol. Anyway once you're ready, go ahead and post in the gameplay thread to introduce yourselves.
Einn Sparkbearer |
CariMac here.
I was thinking about bringing my witch, but that seems like a bad idea with the current party set up. So here's Einn Sparkbearer. Human Ranger (Drake Warden Archtype).
Edit:I'm an up front two weapon fighter.
GM kuey |
Einn, could you fill in the table at the maps and handsout page? To ease my work later when preparing the chronicle sheet. Thanks!
Begrilda Hammerhild |
Haha. :D There may be one or two who don't believe in letting a tab go unpaid, even if it isn't their own. You may want to avoid them after the fact, though. They're not as gentle as Begrilda.
Luurg |
Begrilda: Noticed you don't have it prepared, but stabilize is short ranged. Level 0 spell, nice for keeping someone from bleeding to death if you can't reach them quickly if you can fit it into your 0 slots.
GM kuey |
Dear all, thanks for accompanying me on this run of The Confirmation. It was fantastic!
Please find your chronicle sheets here. Let me know if there are any issues. Will also put a link at the top of the page.
Will be seeing some of you soon at the multi-table special. Might run another scenario concurrently but need to see how my work is at the start of next year (among my other RL rpgs!). If I do, you'll get first dibs!
Jerrid, I see this is your first PFS character, so have also prepared the Welcome to Pathfinder boon chronicle for you.
Einn Sparkbearer |
Thank you it was a pleasure. The next time you see Einn she may be a sorcerer or a wizard. I received a really cool boon that a martial can't take advantage of easily a Psuedodragon familiar. We named him Quetes.
GM kuey |
Ah, I've played that, too. Too bad my character is past the level to change class.
Bishop 'The Dark Augur' |
Bishop bows with a flourish.
Great game all. Had a great deal of fun. Hoping to play with all of you again soon just give me a nudge if you end up at a table with another 'face'.
Damiel great rping btw I can't imagine what character awaits you next.
Kuey as always a pleasure my friend. I'll be seeing you soon and thanks!
Luurg |
Luurg will hand Kuey a nice fresh apple, one he cleans it on his pant leg first of course. "Tanks mang. Ya dun real gud. You like apples? Then gives him a big hug, his round belly pressing uncomfortably against him, making it a bit hard to breath. See yas 'round agin soon, ok?"
Thanks again and enjoy BuA, and Happy Holidays of course.
He then throws a 'how you doin' eyebrow Begrilda's way.
