Mysterious Stranger / Dervish Dancer Does It Work?

Advice

I am building a shot on the run DPS/speed type of character. Was wondering if the Dervish Dancer (Bard) abilities would work with the Mysterious Strangers (Gunslinger) firearms for the purpose of moving and attacking. (Both Charisma Based Classes)

Feats considering are:
Dodge
Mobility
Shot On they Run
Deft Shootist Deed
Leaping Shot Deed
Items considering are:
Use UMD with Ricochet wand (Ultimate Combat)
Use UMD with Reloading Hands wand (Ulitamte Combat)

Any ideas on magic items/spells/feats of what to choose. Please say. :-)

Well, the bard ability just says "weapon," so I think it works with guns. Probably not what was intended, but it works.

I forget, do the Mysterious Stranger and Pistolerro stack? Well, anyway, you definitely want to specialize in pistols with your gun training (you at least will get one type with 5 levels) It will let you get dex on you damage Edit: ah, you do not get gun training.....nevermind. Well still get 5 gunslinger levels so you can get the ability that makes up losing your quick clear deed.

Focus on one handed guns combined with rapid reload and paper cartridges are the only way you'd actually accomplish this (only way to get reloading as a free action; you'd have to be musketeer to use two handed weapons like this)

Maybe point blank shot would be useful. You don't...actually have the dervish dance here, so you know your GM will try to get you into melee.

Over all, you GM will hate you until he notices the limitations of Mysterious Gunslinger. Be kind enough to carry one of the added weapon proficiencies so you give him the hope you will not solely use a pistol to dance about his game.

Also, random bit, not actually relevant, just a question: has anyone else noticed the Gunner Squire? I just randomly found it on the srd, never saw it before, but it is labeled as from an official Paizo release. Not listed on the gunlinger class's list of archetypes. It looks like it stacks with most of the main archetypes. Edit: ok, it does not look to useful, but still, it might be useful in a campaign heavily focused on firearms as a support character

I see no reason why it would not work. I have a longspear Dervish Dancer. It worked great.

I would even disagree that it was not "intended". Just because a class or archetype gives you certain proficients does not mean the writes intended for said archetype/class to be used with ONLY those weapons. That kind of flies in the face of pathfinders pretty obvious philosophy of player choice and customization.

Thanks for the input guys :-) I showed my GM this and okayed it.

I was considering to get my friendly wizard to craft me a wand of Reloading Hands or start off with one. That way I can can still use both musket/pistol. Being Charisma based character boasts my UMD up. But then again Rapid Reload is always handy
Reloading Hands
School conjuration (creation); Level magus 2, ranger 2, sorcerer/wizard 2
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action Components V, S
EFFECT
Range touch Target projectile weapon touched Duration 1 round/caster level (D) Saving Throw Will negates (harmless, object); Spell Resistance yes (harmless, object)
DESCRIPTION
Once per round, phantom hands load a single ranged weapon or firearm with conjured ammunition. This ammunition counts as magical for overcoming damage reduction and attacking incorporeal creatures, but is the standard for its type (a normal bullet or pellets and black powder in the case of firearms). Conjured ammunition ceases to exist 1 round after it is removed from the weapon, or at the end of the duration, whichever comes first.

Cannot wait for Dance of Fury in a couple levels. Gone very self buff orientated with spells along with Battle Dance/Rain Of Blows. Turns out to be a speed demon with Allegro

Guessing a lot of attack/attack of opportunity with this?

Yeah thinking a scimitar but rarely be used since of Deft Shootist Deed.

Yes along with the spear dancer feat, Flagbearer feat and Banner of the Ancient Kings item.

Dazzle everything you hit. Provide a moral bonus to your team and get increased effect from Inspire Courage that is as you know doubled.

Banner of the Ancient Kings is truly my favorite bard item, hands down.

Shadow Lodge

Flagbearer and Banner of Ancient Kings sadly do not work together. They specify a different number of hands in order to benefit from each item.

Believe me, I wish they did. I have an Ulfen arcane duelist/barbarian/dragon disciple who'd just love to use that combo and they are practically made to work together. But I play in PFS and know there'd be no leeway thanks to the wording.

"If the banner’s carrier possesses the Flagbearer feat, the banner of the ancient kings doubles the morale bonuses granted by that feat."

Granted the wording could be better its specifically calls out working with flagbearer. Specific trumps general.

It could turn into one of those absurd arguments that its not spell out quite plainly enough for some people. Some are not happy unless they are hit over the head with it like the argument for Holy Vindicator's ability that says "A vindicator can channel energy into his shield" But since it did not say clear enough for some that it used a channel energy use some people argued it was free.
