POSTING EXPECTATIONS
As a GM, I update games once a day, and am looking for players who will take advantage of that pace. I prefer not to bot characters, but will frequently delay or skip them to keep the action moving.
I greatly appreciate role-playing and clear identification of your actions, and will often reserve spots for players who have shown these things in my previous games. My preferred format for posts is:
My movement might provoke an AoO from the red bad guy.
Granta draws his longsword while dancing behind the barbarian, then cuts deeply into the man's thigh. "Mr. T, set the flank with me!" And quickly, I don't think I can take this giant myself!
Actions:Move Movement
Free Draw a weapon
Standard Attack (red)Rolls:Acrobatics (avoid AoO): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Longsword: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16 Magic, Slashing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
The above are only guidelines, not rules. You do not have to do things my way, but I appreciate it if you do--and will probably invite you to my future games as thanks.
And lastly, a word of warning. I am pretty particular about the rules. Small details will be observed and followed.
RECRUITMENT
This game will be REGULAR campaign, HIGH subtier, and starts on Sunday, January 22. There are currently FIVE spots available. Preference will be given to players who have GMed for me recently, then the remaining characters will be chosen based upon party fit, role-playing history, etc.
I am running three other tables of this scenario, and ask that players only RSVP for one.
Blub Blub |
CHARACTER: Blub Blub
PLAYER: Eric Bennett
PFS ID#: 66548-12
FACTION: Grand Lodge
XP TRACK: Normal
NOTES: Undine Bolt Ace
For RP consideration, HERE and HERE are my two most recent PbPs. This character hasn't been in a PbP, yet. I tend to roleplay him like an aloof California surfer bum (with a bit of a stoner mentality). Lots of "Dude", "Like" and "Hella".

I just leveled up Al here to sixth level, 3rd level Fighter(Lore Warden)/3rd level Rouge(Rake). In fact I haven't finished updating his online information yet.
I am a little concerned I might not have the system mastery for this adventure because he is now the highest level character I've played In more than 20 years (yes I started playing RPG's back when they all came in boxes with everything you needed in them). I know from reading the message boards that style of play changes as you go up in levels, and I'm worried that I might not pull my weight.
I've read the some of the reviews for this adventure, staying away from spoilers, and they give the impression of people just scraping through by the skin of their teeth when played at high level. Hence my concern that I might not contribute enough to the party.
Still I think I would like to play if the other players don't mind a sixth level "newbie".

Aelfward Bloodyhanded, Blub Blub, Periel the Pure, and Tundran please report to the Discussion thread.
@Tundran: If the sixth player isn't a cleric, I would strongly recommend playing Kyra. Ranged healing can be very helpful in this scenario.
@Aelfward: Don't worry too much about that. The scenario includes multiple ways of addressing the difficulty. Yes, some groups will miss all of those options, but the occultist makes that very unlikely for your party.

Three of four games still need players, so if you want to play a second table in the other campaign, jump on in.
Core, high subtier - needs 3 players
Core, low subtier - needs 1 player
Regular, high subtier - needs 1 player

GM Andrew, report to the Discusion thread, please.
I'd prefer my Necromancer 7 (Don't worry, he's life subschool and can do well with paladins).
It's more fun for the GM if he doesn't play well with the pally :-)
My local group has a couple of teenagers who are dating, and have a paladin and necromancy wizard that always play together. They've generated a lot of great RP, particularly in #6: Black Waters and #7-05: School of Spirits. It's especially fun for the group when they get so irritated with each other's characters that they don't want to drive home together!
