Phantom will standard to grow wings amd move action to fligh as high as i can

I am so sorry guys, I must have accidentally turned off the notifications for the gameplay thread at some point.

Phantom takes off and gets 15 feet in the air, avoiding the rumbling and rocking of the building.

The spawn swings about wildly, aiming to catch and wring out Valyssa and Ronin.

Despite all of the wild flailing Valyssa and Ronin are only hit once a piece, and Ronin is able to slip out of the grabbing range of the tentacle that smacks him.

Again, I'm so sorry guys. I'll be paying more attention from now until the end of the mod.

The flames burst and wash against the creature which screeches to the sky. Ronin calls out, "Looks like that's not working!"

Wow, that's just bad luck. Professor, Phantom DC 15 Reflex saves to avoid falling timbers or take 6 points of damage.

The building continues to rumble and crumble around you, feeling more and more as though it will collapse any second now. Valyssa continues her song and steps forward swinging at the monster.

    Damage: 1d8 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 = 11

Valyssa's blade wouldn't normally cut through the beast's thick hide, but the bit of magic she infuses into the blade give it the edge to cut through the supernatural defenses.

Ronin prepares himself for a special technique taught to sword-saints, the Iaijutsu Strike. He draws his blade, quick as a flash of lightning, aiming for the 'head' of the beast.

    Akuma-Tsume!: 1d20 + 11 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 11 + 2 = 14

The shaking of the building throws off his aim, missing the beast completely.

Is the building such that we should GTFO and its collapse will finish off the creature?

    Reflex: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

GTFO yes, finish off creature...maybe. But it'll probably be buried and immobile.

Despite his general tottering and wandering the Professor shows a sprightly side by leaping and avoiding some falling timber.

Seeing everyone making a hasty exit, phantom will go ahead and begin to leave. if he can fly straight up through the roof, he will. If he cannot then he will still fly out of the bldg as fast he can

Phantom flies through the door nearby, escaping the building as it continues to crumble around everyone. The beast continues its rampage, not knowing or not caring that the building is shaking apart.

Assuming GM Fez gives me the nod on this one, I'll try to work an angle here for a quick wrap-up.

The Professor's eyes sparkle for a moment as his engineering acumen allows him to assess the building's limited longevity.

    "Flee you fools!"

Stepping forward, his bathrobe ripples in the light breeze caused by the beast's lashing tentacles.

"I'm right here monster! What are you waiting for?!"

The eccentric gnome begins gesticulating as cold, icy shards impale the creature.

He appeared immune to fire right? The Professor will shoot a cold metamagic burning hands at it.

    Intensified burning hands (cold): 6d4 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 1, 1, 4) = 13 (Reflex DC16 for half)

The Professor is looking to get pinned/grappled/entangled with the beast, so he can use his boots of escape to dimension door 400ft away, so he'll intend to auto-fail any effort to resist a grapple.

So long as he doesn't roll a 1... Phantom, you've got a round of not being attacked or in danger of falling debris, so I'll take the monster's actions right now too.

    Targets: 1d4 ⇒ 1
    Spawn: 1d100 ⇒ 93
    Val: 1d100 ⇒ 99
    Ronin: 1d100 ⇒ 83
    Professor: 1d100 ⇒ 58
    Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 5

More of the roof over top of the Professor continues to collapse, dropping more timbers in his direction. Another DC 15 Reflex, or take 5 damage.

The icy shards from the Professor's spell crash into the creature, but it shrugs off the ice as well as the fire from before. With the door open from Phantom getting out of the building Valyssa and Ronin both attempt to escape as well.

    Opportunity!: 1d20 + 17 - 6 ⇒ (11) + 17 - 6 = 22

The monster's bite crunches down mere inches from Ronin's face as he flees, he and Valyssa making it out the door.

The monster whirls on the Professor, swiping down with its tentacle to pull the little gnome into its grasp.

    Snatch!: 1d20 + 16 - 6 ⇒ (5) + 16 - 6 = 15
    Grab!: 1d20 + 19 - 6 ⇒ (10) + 19 - 6 = 23

The Professor's eyes bulge, as much from being squeezed by a lumbering tentacle as surprise that his "plan" seemed to work.

"You'll need to squeeze tighter than that! This isn't even half as bad as my second wife's grip on my retirement stash!"

Squirming in the creature's grasp, the Professor implores his magical boots to help him escape this squeeze.

Assuming folks are safely away, he'll use the boots of escape to dimension door to safety, hoping the falling debris is enough to finish off the beast.

The professor activates his magical boots, popping out of existence and back in on the other side of the wall just as the building gives up the ghost and collapses entirely. The monster roars as the rubble collapses around it, pounding its flesh and crushing its malformed body.

    RUBBLE!: 8d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2, 2, 1, 3, 6, 6) = 26
    ROOOOOAAAAAAR!: 1d20 + 8 - 6 ⇒ (15) + 8 - 6 = 17

The beast avoids most of the rubble and stops itself from being buried completely, though it is stuck a bit in the debris. Phantom, you still have your fancy new aberration-bane blade too...

Valyssa casts a spell on Phantomblade while Ronin rushes back to the rubble to continue fighting the beast. Heroism for a +2 morale bonus on attacks, saves, and skill checks.

    Akuma-Tsume!: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

It resisted fire and cold? That's about it for the Professor's damaging tricks alongside Phantom's swordsmanship...

The Professor watches from a distance, wishing he had purchased one of those wands that lobbed arcane missiles about, but them also remembering Brigh had chosen for whatever reason, to deny him the ability to wield such magic freely.

He leaps onto a nearby rock the size of a large grapefruit and pumps his fist in the air as he cheers Phantomblade on.

"Slice him again! Aim for that spot there!"

As the spawn dies, it roars in outrage and then quickly slops away into a foul-smelling mess, leaving behind only a noxious, crusty stain of white powder on the ground. Eerily, its death is marked by a sickening sigh that seems to shudder up from the very earth itself, as if something even deeper under Carrion Hill were mourning the spawn’s death. As the sigh reverberates, it is taken up by an even greater noise from the skies above Carrion Hill as wheeling storms of crows descend back to the city’s rooftops, cawing and shrieking and cackling in a cacophony that lasts for hours.
