Cyrus pauses for a moment as the momentary shock wears off. The thug stands over him ready to strike a death blow, and reaches for an arrow suddenly sticking from a very vital area on his body. The look of confusion washing over his face coincides with the look of relief that floods the face of Cyrus, the nearly dead flea.

He takes heart as Sun stands next to him, knowing his companions have come to his aid. His nerves steeled for the moment, he doesn't miss another beat as he turns and flips his way up onto the upper deck to get at the Grippli.

On his way up, he can't help but notice the angry look on Ibid's face, directed to the falling thug, as he passes by. The world around him slows to a unnatural pace, seconds feeling like minutes as his mortality rushes to the forefront of his mind.

Never felt this before... All those nights sleeping on the streets, no parents, no friends, no food. If this was a year ago, I would have been dead... I would have been alone... Sun was so concerned... thats... new...

Ibid, I wonder why the group always changes, but he is always there? He looked like he might still tear that man apart with his bare hands... Is this what friends are?

The world rushes back to full speed and Cyrus buries those new, foundation shaking thoughts out of his head for a moment. Focus shifts and pinpoints on the remaining enemy on the deck. He runs up the stairs, using Jacob as a visual shield and drops into a slide to get on the other side of the amphibious creature.

I do not know how to sail, I have spent most of my youth playing in the desert sands. We need to figure out how to take this ship where we are going, and quickly. We can ask this one more questions on our way there if need be, about the rest of the scholars who have come up missing. Does anyone here have experience as a sailor? If not, maybe we can hire a few sailors to point this floating tree in the right direction.

Cyrus doesn't move his weapon an inch from the grippli's throat.

Cyrus, for once in his life, continues a conversation involving an alluring woman, without her charms affecting him.

He is bleeding rather profusely from my last cut, Cyrus observes while drawing a wand from his pack. There is a plethora of capable magical healing in our group. His choice is simple, death for betrayal, life and health for cooperation. Unless one of us can sail this ship, his life will remain in our hands. He will take us to the Topaz Titan, or die on the decks of this filthy ship. I am betting that since he was so eager to surrender once the tide had turned against him, he is more loyal to his own life than he is to his boss. He is a pirate after all, Cyrus pauses, looking at his companions, not a Pathfinder.

Cyrus ends his visual scan of his new friends by looking at Ibid and Sun, gratefulness in his eyes.

I hope one day I get the chance to return the favor...

The only landing point on the rocky islet called Viper Cove seems to be through a cavern entrance that leads to a shallow cove concealed within the island itself. The walls of the cavern are lined intermittently with torch-adorned sconces, and another ship is already moored on the northeastern side of the embankment — Topaz Titan is emblazoned across its hull in orange letters that shine brilliantly even in the limited light. Several hastily-sealed cans of paint, a wood rasp, and sandpaper are barely visible on the ship’s deck. On the eastern side of the large cavern, two exits lead further into the cave complex.

You dock your ship next to the Titan and disembark, leaving Mumbuckle bound and gagged. No guards seems to be on duty.

An iron gate blocks access to this passage, where a series of wooden planks set into the soft sediment of the cavern's floor provide a steep stairway into the chamber beyond. The chamber resembles a pit more than anything else, and bones of various kinds of animals litter the floor near the cages. Several sconces with burning torches adorn the walls, and two empty cages stand at the eastern side of the room. Two large, rabid looking dogs roam the chamber. Clair casts cure light wounds on Cyrus when he returns to the party, getting him back to full health in preparation of the final battle.

Seconds before everyone charges into the cave Clair casts guidance on Jacob, to help him in his plan. She'll do the same for Ibid, Sun and Cyrus.

She then casts divine favor on both Arion and herself.

Guidance and divine favor both last for 1 minute. So Jacob will have 30 seconds (5 rounds) of guidance left, etc. Spells are cast on people in the order of names.

Thanks... Clair Cyrus says, pausing for a moment to flash an innocent smile in the direction of the cleric. He lingers for a moment, bordering on uncomfortable, before snapping back to the moment at hand.

Oh yes... Limited time... Lets hit them hard and fast! He says excitedly, but quietly. He moves up along side of Jacob and Arion, anxiously ready to charge in as soon as Jacob has cast his spell.

Unfortunately I think Divine Favor is self-cast only. :( Unless you have a class feature that lets you apply Personal spells to allies?

Percep: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Percep: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

All the enemies notice him just as he leaps into the room!

Initiatives:

Bad Guys: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Arion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Cyrus: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Sun: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Ibid: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Then Blinded and stunned for: 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds.

The rest of you may act!

The first casualty of war is always the battle plan! Cyrus mutters as he sees the pirate leader crumple to the floor.

Knowing she is out of commission, he diverts to the nearest goon to try to eliminate the threat as soon as possible.

Attack vs Flatfooted: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15 for Damage w/ SA (due to flatfooted): 2d6 ⇒ (4, 4) = 8

Should have asked when I snuck up before, but what are they wearing and wielding?

I'll be right behind you Cyrus

Arion will ready an action to charge the Pirate leader with Cyrus, if possible, after Jacob does his Color Spray. Otherwise he will charge whichever Pirate he can.

Why am I so far from the action on the map?

I wasn't sure of that myself. I wasn't sure if you needed me to move your token. But your description was clear, so you may definitely update your position and act accordingly.

Masterfully done, Jacob! Someone tie her up while she's stunned, or finish her off before she wakes! the old man calls out while reloading another arrow.
