The sphinx continues its assault, tearing at the now paralyzed Havelock! The beast thing savages the helpless magus, rending skin, armor and bone.

Tarek studies the situation and prepares to take action to aid Havelockk

GM:
Brew, I assume Tarek is next to Havelockk since he needed to touch him to cast cure light Wounds. Is Tarek able to grapple Havelockk and then move him backwards and out of harm's way?

Grapple:
As a standard action, you can attempt to grapple a foe, hindering his combat options. If you do not have Improved Grapple, grab, or a similar ability, attempting to grapple a foe provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. Humanoid creatures without two free hands attempting to grapple a foe take a –4 penalty on the combat maneuver roll. If successful, both you and the target gain the grappled condition (see the Appendices). If you successfully grapple a creature that is not adjacent to you, move that creature to an adjacent open space (if no space is available, your grapple fails). Although both creatures have the grappled condition, you can, as the creature that initiated the grapple, release the grapple as a free action, removing the condition from both you and the target. If you do not release the grapple, you must continue to make a check each round, as a standard action, to maintain the hold. If your target does not break the grapple, you get a +5 circumstance bonus on grapple checks made against the same target in subsequent rounds. Once you are grappling an opponent, a successful check allows you to continue grappling the foe, and also allows you to perform one of the following actions (as part of the standard action spent to maintain the grapple).

Move
You can move both yourself and your target up to half your speed. At the end of your movement, you can place your target in any square adjacent to you. If you attempt to place your foe in a hazardous location, such as in a wall of fire or over a pit, the target receives a free attempt to break your grapple with a +4 bonus.

Tarek can drag Havelock away from the sphinx, but the sphinx will get an attack of opportunity once lock is moved out of a threatened square.

I guess one attack is better than getting shredded by 3. I was hoping it would be considered a withdraw action or similar to a 5 foot step and not draw an AoO. If Tarek can drag Havelockk back and also guard him with his shield then he will attempt that action.

Tarek quickly considers his options and decides it is best to drag Havelockk away from his current position

I pray that the God's of battle are not done with you this day. This may hurt a little, but it seems far better than the alternative

Between being suddenly paralyzed with despair and being raked by and undead monstrosity, Havelock loses his focus and his spell dissipates. Tarek grabs Havelock and pulls tries to pull him away from the zombie sphinx, allowing the creature to claw at the magus. Luckily the claw glances harmlessly off of Havelock's armor.

Sekh-pa-Mefer enters the hallway and shouts to the sphinx, pointing to Caoilte. "Finish him my pet and we shall visit doom upon his fellow thieves!"

GM: I was wondering if Tarek could have remained in the doorway and repositioned Havelockk in the space behind him in the room. He was planning to do the same maneuver on Caoilte and drag him back to the room. Tarek is attempting to clear the hall and bring the fight to a room that allows for more of the group to act. Grapple states that one can move a grappled individual into any adjacent, unoccupied space.I was thinking: Grapple, turn, release Havelockk into room and turn back to Caoilte to prepare for next round. I was hoping to do that without actually leaving my current location, if possible

Tarek attempts the same maneuver on Caoilte, that was done on Havelockk. He is attempting to drag Caoilte out of the hallway and back into the room. Tarek will move 10 feet back and then release Caoilte in the space to the left of the doorway

Tarek wrestles with the weight of the heafty warrior OK big boy, time to play somewhere else

Tarek, how far are you dragging Caoilte? Are you taking him into the next room or just out of the sphinx's reach? Remember the Sphinx is large and has a 10 foot reach.

Silver Crusade

Male Aasimar Oracle/4th/ Spells 1st:7/7 2nd:4/4 | Hp:25| AC: 22|Perc:+10| Init:+1| Fort:+1| Ref:+2| Will:+6

Tarek can only move half his speed so that would only be 10 feet. If Tarek is facing the hall he should be 5-10 feet into the room and then let go of Caoilte either to his left or right. He will move as far as he can to make the Sphinx come into the room. Hopefully this will allow for everyone to attack. If Tarek is able to turn the corner when enters the room he will take that option if it will protect him from an attack. He would then release Caoilte in an adjacent square that offers the most protection

Ok, I think I have it figured.

Tarek drags away the still form of Caoilte as the sphinx tries to bite the retreating warrior. The beast clamps down on Caoilte's exposed shield arm, tearing a sizeable piece of flesh and meat from the axe swinger's bone.

Hearing Tarek, desperate times calling for desperate measures, I reach within and extract the power from within that affects the very nature of time and relativity.

NEPTUNIA SOLVERE VINCLA!!!!!

I use the touched by time boon/rewward off chronicle sheet/scenario #7-02, I caste/use Haste as a 4th level caster on all of my companions.

The transmuted creatures move and act more quickly than normal. This extra speed has several effects.

When making a full attack action, a hasted creature may make one extra attack with one natural or manufactured weapon. The attack is made using the creature's full base attack bonus, plus any modifiers appropriate to the situation. (This effect is not cumulative with similar effects, such as that provided by a speed weapon, nor does it actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round.)

A hasted creature gains a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves. Any condition that makes you lose your Dexterity bonus to Armor Class (if any) also makes you lose dodge bonuses.

All of the hasted creature's modes of movement (including land movement, burrow, climb, fly, and swim) increase by 30 feet, to a maximum of twice the subject's normal speed using that form of movement. This increase counts as an enhancement bonus, and it affects the creature's jumping distance as normal for increased speed. Multiple haste effects don't stack. Haste dispels and counters slow.

Summary: One subject/level takes only one action/round, -1 to AC, Reflex saves, and attack rolls.
An affected creature moves and attacks at a drastically slowed rate. Creatures affected by this spell are staggered and can take only a single move action or standard action each turn, but not both (nor may it take full-round actions). Additionally, it takes a –1 penalty on attack rolls, AC, and Reflex saves. A slowed creature moves at half its normal speed (round down to the next 5-foot increment), which affects the creature's jumping distance as normal for decreased speed.

Multiple slow effects don't stack. Slow counters and dispels haste.

Tarek calls upon the power imbued within him after his own touch with the flow of time. Fortune smiles on the oracle as the shimmering field slowing time seems to settle about both their opponents.

Brew, I think the boon description says to use character level. The spell is available to several classes and is either a level 2 or level 3 spell. It should last 3 rounds.
Touched by Time: You have passed through time-distorting portals in Uringen, and residual magic from
that experience clings to you. You may cast either haste or slow as a spell-like ability, using your character
level as your caster level and Charisma as your key ability score. When you use this boon, cross it off your

Full Attack:
If you get more than one attack per round because your base attack bonus is high enough (see Base Attack Bonus in Classes), because you fight with two weapons or a double weapon, or for some special reason, you must use a full-round action to get your additional attacks. You do not need to specify the targets of your attacks ahead of time. You can see how the earlier attacks turn out before assigning the later ones.

The only movement you can take during a full attack is a 5-foot step. You may take the step before, after, or between your attacks.

If you get multiple attacks because your base attack bonus is high enough, you must make the attacks in order from highest bonus to lowest. If you are using two weapons, you can strike with either weapon first. If you are using a double weapon, you can strike with either part of the weapon first.

Deciding between an Attack or a Full Attack
After your first attack, you can decide to take a move action instead of making your remaining attacks, depending on how the first attack turns out and assuming you have not already taken a move action this round. If you've already taken a 5-foot step, you can't use your move action to move any distance, but you could still use a different kind of move action.

Isador swings his bow and deftly tries to aim his magically sped shot at the animated form the of the pharaoh but he is off the mark.

Havelock tries to spend the last of his arcane reserves but he is unable to connect with his dark blade. He holds the spell for another try...

Caoilte hacks away at the mummy, connecting solidly. His axe leaves noticeable gouges on the undead fiend, but Caoilte is sure his blows should have at least severed a limb but the thing was able to resist the force.

Tarek feels as death itself seeps into his being. His vision sswirls for a moment and he feels as if something terrible has befallen him. The oracle presses on and also lands a slice from his blade, but it merely nicks the mummy.

Sekh-pa-Mefer presses its attack on Tarek but Traek's armor resists the blow.
