Isador Kane |
Isador takes a slow draw from his glass after hearing the report from Kat.
I agree with Kat about avoiding an attempt to get an audience with the mayor at this point. If I were him and a group of Pathfinders arrived right before the execution, I would be very suspicious of their motives.
What will you say when he asks about our stake in the matter? Are you prepared to lie if he asks if we are Pathfinders?
I concur that the general store should be first. It fits with our story and will allow us to blend in a little. The beer garden would be great as our next stop around Noon which might lead us to a more informed decision on our next destination.
The food here seems nice and we might be able to gain some insight on the tent outside of town from someone here.
Isador scans the crowd looking for possible troubadours or street performers that might carry some information.
Caoilte |
Caoilte nods in agreement while chewing on bread. Yeah. What Izzy said. No sense stirrin' the pot if we can avoid it. Let's check the store and then move to the beer garden. I'll want to check that place out. Who needs anything from the store? Might as well buy instead of browse and it'll maybe loosen up some tight lips.
Tarek Delrin |
I guess I am confused about the current situation. I thought we were splitting up to investigate separate areas? If we are splitting up then that means 2 areas to investigate per group. We would not be going to the same areas so meeting at the beer garden seems to go against what we just agreed to do
In my travels I have found that people often seek religious guidance when their life is near the end. I was hoping that I would be given access to the prisoners on a spiritual basis. This would then make perfect sense for a stranger to seek out the prisoners and no affiliation with the society would ever be mentioned. I will follow with the groups decision on this one but I don't see the need in making that our last visit on the list
Kat C'ys |
Kat thinks for a moment, You know, that might actually be a good excuse to see the prisoners. However, I feel that it may be best to wait until at least after visiting the general store before attempting such a thing. We can ask if such a thing would be allowed and if someone has already offered to do something similar. I would also take one or, at most, two others with you while the rest check out the beer tent and festival grounds.
How much chatter is going on about the execution and the festival in the inn. Have they heard what the tent city / festival is for?
Havelockk |
Hmmm, all very good ideas here. Tarek I think you religious idea has a lot of merit, but I think we should minimally spend a few hours walking around the town and hit one the locations mentioned to gain better situational awareness.
Thinking for a moment. I think Tarek, El and I should go to the general store first, and then we can meet the rest of you at the beer garden. That hopefully should give the rest of you ample time to chek out the festivities.
Not only can Tarek potentially offer religious counsel, the three may be in need of legal advice andor other services for that matter.
Regardless, with a little bit of situational awareness and active listening, we may mind a very plausible reason to visit them.
Kat C'ys |
If three of you head to the general store first while the others check out the festival then I would suggest taking Izzy instead of El. Izzy has a plausible reason for checking out the goods in a finer detail while El's tracking would be of better use outside the town proper.
GM Brew |
The Archons debate their plan to investigate while they finish the fine meal provided by the inn. Once they are finished, they discover that the bar has emptied out leaving few patrons. Tired from their long journey, the Pathfinders split into two groups and retire for the night.
Despite some grumbling from Caoilte, the party has grown used to rising early and meet again for breakfast shortly after dawn. Once nourished they set out to begin their investigation.
As far as I can tell, Tarek, Havelockk and Izzy will start at the gneral store and Kat, Eloriand and Caoilte will tackle the Fairgrounds for their morning start. Correct?
Havelockk |
Rising a bit early, I head down the stairs once I can hear the inn's staff shuffleing around, prepping breakfast and the likes. With a nod, I order up what ever the breakfast of the morning is, hoping that there is some form of coffee, tea, or mulled wine available. If available, I take a seat at a table near the main hearth, feeling the heat and smelling the slight smokiness in the room from that fire (assuming its not like Texas in July hot).
Caoilte |
Caoilte rises, bleary eyed and heads down to the common room. Seeing Hav he comments. Hey there legionnaire, there's a rusty spot on your armor. Right in the armpit, it might be hard to see. Better get that squared away before some Emperious Cohortus Maximus sees that and has you peeling potatoes. Chuckling at the ruse Caoilte pauses to reflect then checks to make sure he doesn't have some dried blood or guts stuck in a chink of his own suit.
Kat C'ys |
If possible Kat would have risen early to prowl the streets and inn trying to hear and see anything she didn't the night before. Otherwise she'll just keep her ears and eyes open while trying to remain inconspicuous.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28 + 13 to hear conversations or find hidden things
Tarek Delrin |
Tarek enters the room and greets the Archons Good to see everyone is up bright and early this morning. How is the breakfast? Tarek sits himself down and orders some food and a hot beverage Has everyone had a chance to think about how they wish to proceed today? It did not seem anyone was very keen on my idea the other night, so I will follow what the group thinks is the best course of action. We are on limited time but working as a team, even if separately, is the best way to maintain an efficient and thorough investigation.
Havelockk |
I am agreed on splitting up...I thnk we just need to get up and go for it... I take a mouthful of my oatmeal, accompanied by a bite for a sour green apple while glaring at Caoilte at the comment about the armor... Nice try brother....but as you know, mail wears very well and naturally keeps itself clean. One of the reason you won't se me wearing that plate or iron strip armor. Say...anyone see Kat?
Isador Kane |
Isador quickly eats his breakfast in silence while listening to the proposed plan of action.
I suggest that we get moving instead of wasting our morning here.
Glancing over towards Tarek.
I am fine with going to see the prisoner first if that is your preference. So is it to be the General Store or the Prisoners?
He starts collecting his gear and heads towards the door.
Eloriand Miller |
Eloriand browses the limited choices for a morning meal. Mornin. Browsing the fruit and grains available, Eloriand grabs some of the green apple for himself and asks the inn keeper for eggs and bacon.
Havelockk |
I am for the general store, who knows what we might find...and then I say we head to the beer garden tent ot what ever they call it...I am sure we will need something to drink from all the talking....or listening. With a chuckle I go back to devouring my mean in a orderly fashion.
GM Brew |
After a quick breakfast, the Archons split into tow groups and launch their investigation.
Tarek, Isador and Havelock make their way to Orug's General Store. As the enter the city proper, they see one of only a few permanent structures in the town, a sprawling storefront that occupies three storefronts on the main road. Entering the large store, they discover several areas within the store, a central room where many mundane items are offered for sale. There is an eastern building not generally accessible by customers and appears to be some sort of storage area. The western building appears to be a barber shop, with three chairs used by groomers and a few back rooms that cater to those wishing a hot bath.
As the Pathfinders look about the store, they are eventually approached by a affable half-orc who introduces himself as the proprietor, Orug. Well met travelers! Please take your time, even though my store is the only one you will see for miles, you can see my prices are more than fair. Must be in to see those Pathfinders meet the gallows, eh? Grim business that... Off to the side, near Orug, you see a handsome half-elven woman staring at Orug with her arms crossed and a scrunched up face, clearly the proprietors wife.
Meanwhile...
Caoilte, Kat and Eloriand find the local fairgrounds. Kat catches up to the group as they leave the inn. She was unable to hear anything of interest in the early morning. The Archons find dozens of tents of sundry sizes that ring an open area where people are already beginning to gather and talk. The place has the feel of a true country fair, complete with food stalls that are beginning to open offering all sorts of delectable foods. Local entertainers, musicians, jugglers, puppeteers entertain the crowd.
As the splinter group takes in the sites, they are met with wary stares. Clearly, these locals are familiar with each other and view the trio as outsiders. Not long after the group arrives, the attendees start engaging in various sports and contests. Tumblers leap and flip in contests of acrobatic skill, a pole is erected and a few fair goers see who can reach the top. A few foot races spring up. A variety of contests seem to be had for the willing. The three notice that the persons who excel at these games seem to easily win the adoration of the fair crowd.
Alright, the party is set for their first phase, day one, investigation. I will post the action in tandem, assuming each party will inform the other of their findings once they cross paths. Each PC can make one skill check at their location. It is up to the PC to indicate what skill they will use for the check and how they are using the skill in the current circumstance. Good Luck!
Tarek Delrin |
Greetings to you sir. A fine shop you have here. I am looking for some writing supplies and I hope you may have something available? Tarek looks around, taking interest in little curiosities around the shop.
Havelockk |
Wow, wonder a 1/4 orc, 1/4 elf, 1/2 human child looks like and how the heck to you role that up?
Looking around, I smile at the 3 Barber Chairs and make my way too them. Traditionally a source on rumor intelligence, is the barber available? I could use a proper hot face and head shave with exception to my eyebrows...I don't want to be looking like that chap Bob Geldof in the play, "The Wall".
Sitting down in the chair, I set what gear I need to too to the side of the chair, while making sure that at the very least, my pugio/dagger stays strapped to my hip.
I have heard that the two keys to happiness are finding the perfect woman and the perfect barber. I have yet to find the woman, but lets see if I discover the perfect barber today!
I'll trnasfer 50GP to Caoilte if he knows where the 2 keys of happiness saying ais posted in the FBNC AOR
Kat C'ys |
Hmmm, there sure are a lot of contests today. I wonder what the requirements to enter are and if there are any prizes for winning. Depending on what contests are running, and what time they are, one of us should probably see if they can enter a contest while the others focus on searching the fairgrounds. The difference in attitude towards strangers alone may give us enough of a benefit as people will be more open when talking to us.
Kat C'ys |
If they decide to have someone enter a contest while the others scout the fairgrounds and they find another contest of acrobatics, Kat will volunteer to enter. If they decide to use her, she will focus on winning but will also do her best to keep her eyes and ears open. If they do not have her enter a competition then she will focus on scouting.

GM Brew |
Orug smiles and nods at the divine tinged oracle. Of course friend! You will find most anything you need here in my center showroom. Please look around and see for yourself. Is there anything specific you need? The half-orc grins widely at Tarek.
The half-elf woman softens a bit and smiles to Caoilte. Please traveler step this way. You surely do look to be in need of some grooming. Have a seat and I will see that you are looking your best in short order. The ladies at the festival will be having contests for your attention once I am through with you! She guides Havelockk to an empty chair and begins preparations for a proper shaving.
Meanwhile...
Kat walks about the fairgrounds and comes upon a crowd gathered around a makeshift obstacle course. Various men and women take turns navigating the course, balancing on beams, tumbling over bars and rolling under tables. The participants seem to be judged by the crowd on their skill at maneuvering the course. Not one to draw attention to herslf normally, Kat's curiosity gets the better of her. After watching a few persons run the course, she cannot help but try it herself. Kat enters the course and begins an amazing sequence of running the course, accented by flourishing flips and tumbles. Kat whips the course in record time, sticking all of her landings and causing those gathered to gasp in a truly dazzling display of acrobatics. When she is finished, the crowd gathers about her and slap her on the shoulder and give her a good shake in heartfelt congratulations. Kat clearly has ingratiated herself to the fairground crowd.
Wow Kat, nat 20 on the acro check. Way to ace that one. The rest of you folks need to make your skill check so I may resolve what, if anything, the group learns at their locations.
Isador Kane |
Isador smiles as he approaches Orug.
A fine shop you have here although I am interested in seeing something a little more exotic. I am a buyer for my fathers export business and, while we did not come to your establishment specifically, I would be remiss in my duties if I failed to ask about any unique items.
You mentioned some Pathfinders and gallows... that is something you don't hear everyday. What is that all about?
As you noticed, we are new to town and hopefully our business will take us out before anyone swings on a long arm. No, I hope to purchase some traveling provisions and hopefully something special and then be on my way.
Isador rests his hand on his coin pouch and smiles at Orug.

Tarek Delrin |
So we only get one skill roll? I was hoping to let Isador work on the store owner a bit more before making the check but I guess I better go with what Tarek is good at
As Tarek examines the items in the shop, he addresses the statement made by the owner Watching an execution is not the type of activity I had planned when we decided on visiting Dawnton. I am surprised that the festivities have not been spoiled with the upcoming execution. We heard a few bits and pieces of information at the tavern but you never know how reliable such information really is. It saddens me to hear there was a loss of life and I am certain those guilty of the crime will receive their just punishment.
Tarek then runs his fingers across the symbol to Qi Zhong and continues to speak I have been very fortunate in my travels and if there is a collection for the family who has suffered the recent loss, then I would gladly make a donation to aid them.
Tarek examines a few fine writing utensils and selections of paper I am certain these will do just fine. I enjoy recording my travels and Dawnton is proving far more interesting than I had imagined. Is there anything you can share that I could add to my journal? Tarek looks to the inkeeper and gives a slight smile as he reaches for his coin pouch to pay for the items

Leaning back a bit more in the chair, Why thank you Ma'dam. Don't be afraid to move my ears out of the way or my nose as you work your skilled magic on me, as I have no doubt it will help me win the smile or two of an attractive women or two.
Pausing a moment. What is this business I hear about a public hanging? I have to admit, I do not know much about Pathfinders, but they normally don't seem like the type that would end up swinging from a Gallows Pole.

GM Brew |
At the store, Isador, Tarek and Havelock try to skillfully and subtly glean information from Orug and the various staff and patrons of Orug's general store.
Orug looks about conspiratorially as Tarek uses his natural way in speaking to make the storekeeper comfortable speaking to the assimar. Yeah, as I said gruesome business. Otto, a farmer who lives just outside of town, found the body of the first poor fella the morning the those Pathfinders arrived. You would think that would phase the man, but nope, that old crusty farmer is still goin' about his business as if he just found a dead squirrel on his stoop. The half orc proprietor just shakes his head as he relates the news.
The half-elven shopkeep's wife turned barber shakes her head as well as Havelock does his best to smooth talk her as she tends to his bald pate. Aye, I met a few of them Pathfinders in my day and they always seemed rather nice, but facts are facts. She sighs a bit as she works the straight razor When Sheriff Luin finally got to the place where that second fella was..she pauses in grief found...he found a dagger and wouldn't ya know it, that knife fit a sheath belonging to one of those Pathfinders who was hiding right there in the bushes! I hate to think they would do such a thing, but hard to look the other way when its staring you in the face, you know? The shopkeep's wife finishes her work on the magus.
Orug is momentarily distracted when Isador begins to talk shop. The half-orc smiles widely and eagerly discusses various goods, availability and prices with Isador. Isador eventually shifts the conversation back to the Pathfinders. Orag, happy to be talking to a fellow merchant, readily continues with his rumor mongering. Oh yeah, that lady, Erika, from the church, was she ever glad to be putting those Pathfinders to the rope. I don't think I ever seen anyone, much less a lady of the church of the Inheritor, smile that wide. Almost didn't look right.
Orug looks over to his wife putting the finishing touches on Havelock's barber visit, then leans in to speak a little more softly to Tarek and Isador You know, I saw one of them murders, plain as day. He again glances warily over to his wife, then back to the pair I found that second man right outside my bloody store! I heard a thump, and saw this tall evil looking guy dart off into the shadows! I tried to stop him, I did, but...he once again looks over to his wife then back [b]the bastard sucker punched me and got away. Darn right cowardly.[b] Orug half smiles then straightens quickly as his wife returns to the two pathfinder agents and the shopkeeper, Orug quiets suddenly as his wife gives him a sidelong glance with narrowed eyes.
Meanwhile...
Upon seeing Kat's success at the local festivals, Caoilte and Eloriand also seek out games they could use to soften the crowd. Elorind discovers that a few burly hunter types have set up what appears to be a wooden deer target, marked with small kill spots near where the heart would be. The hunters are preparing to take bow shots at the target, clearly a game designed to test the gathered participants hunting skills. Caoilte, also looking for an in with the crowd, comes across an interesting shouting match with a gathered laughing crowd. Caoilte watches for a few moments and realizes that he has stumbled across an insult contest. Two men enter the ring of the crowd and yell insults at each other until one of the participants is so embarrassed that they sulk back into the crowd. The current champion appears to be a rather tall, bald ruffian who does an excellent job cowering anyone who faces him.
Yes Caoilte, messed up there, but I think I have the groups right now. El, the fair is just something that appears to have sprung up as the town's population swelled due to the visitors. As macabre as it sounds, the festival is a result of the scheduled executions. Eloriand, you my roll a survival check to enter the hunting contest and Caoilte may roll an intimidate check for the insult contest. Once those rolls are done, I will resolve the fairground investigation.

Tarek looks to Isador and raises an eyebrow as Orug mentions a tall fellow running off. I am certain you did everything you could to capture the villain. Was the sheriff eventually able to catch this man and have him share the fate of the other criminals? I would hate to think such a man could still be lurking about. Tarek presents the parchment and writing utensils to Orug How much do I owe you for these items? This would be a fascinating story for my journal if it were not such a sad event. I did not know that two lives had been taken, the gossipers in the tavern only made mention of someone being killed. I would still like to make an offering to aid the families during this difficult time. Do you think the Church of the Inheritor or the office of the Mayor would pass along such aid?

Well, that was a most excellent shave. I am most certainly going to have to come back for another when its time.

Caoilte steps up. I'm surprised at lookin' at a head like yours there ain't a pair of balls beneath it. Or maybe they're just on your chin.

Brew, I'm not sure how much I can spice up IC comments and not violate a policy here.
GM Brew |
Eloriand takes a step forward and tries his hand at target practice. The gathered hunters seem encouraging but they insist Eloriand use their designated contest bow. Eloriand takes the bow, but only then discovers that the bow is horribly warped. The previous contestants clearly were familiar with the warped bow and were able to compensate for its flaws. Eloriand gives the bow a chance regardless, but he misses the target entirely. The locals have a good chuckle at Eloriand's expense but are certainly doing so in a good nature way.
As Eloriand takes a shot at the wooden deer, Caoilte wastes no time stepping into the circle of fair goers and launches an insult at the tall reigning champion. Unfortunately, Caoilte failed to realize that the tall man was extremely well regarded by the crowd and a rather famous local entertainer. The bald man laughs out loud, then turns to the crowd Well I'll be, I'd never thought I would see it, but this fella just tried to fart a joke out. Wait, is that your face? Heh, sorry, kinda hard to tell. Even though the material was not the best, Caoilte knows he has the crowd when they erupt with laughter anyway. Knowing when he is licked, Caoilte slinks away leaving the bald man to reign supreme this day.
Despite the failed attempts, the crowd is still buzzing off Kat's extraordinary performance. The bald man also takes pity on Caoilte and buys him an ale and has a drink with the axeman. Eloriand re-joins Kat as the crowd laughs and shares news with the newcomers.
The Archons overhear two somewhat tipsy revelers talking about local politics. That Erika, she is somehtign else ain't she? She says that Iomede speaks to her! I don't know, but she really is devoted to the Inheritor and she almost has me believing. I heard she may start a church here. That would be great, I think this place could use a little divine help. Hells, if she keeps goign the way she is, she might even challenge Lubin for mayor. The patron shakes her head and downs the rest of her ale.
The Inheritor is another name for the goddess Iomede, which is common knowledge. Iomede was a divine second to Aroden and was said to Inherit his mission and following upon his death. Orug is reacted favorably to Tarek and the rest of the Pathfinder patrons, but Tarek can tell he has already provided all the relevant information he knows. Caoilte, bum roll (and El too) but good job on keeping the tone of the post at PG-13 level. Always worth re-stating, younger viewers may see these posts, so PG13 is kind of a good guide to strive when posting here. Ok, phase 1 of day 1 investigation now complete. Teh party can meet up and share notes before deciding where to go next.

Havelockk |
Well gents...should we be off?
SOuns like we need to head to the Inn basedon the scenario, even though I think we were planning to link up at the Festival
Where should we head to next?
Tarek Delrin |
Tarek waits for the crowd to die down a bit and when open ears are more acute to hearing last call than on anything exchanged between the pathfinders. It seems this Erika was overzealous about seeing that the pathfinders were convicted of this crime. The pathfinders were seen in the area the murders were committed, but nobody actually saw them commit the deed. Something about this does not seem right at all. The evidence does not seem strong enough to account for a charge of murder. I am almost certain that they did not commit any murder here. Orug mentioned he saw a tall man running away from the scene of one of the murders. This evidence should have cleared the hafling and the dwarves of these charges. I am not sure why it was ignored but we have much to uncover. Tarek thinks for a moment I am aware of a few spells that can be used to control the mind of another. Perhaps someone is doing something very similar here to make sure guilt is passed on to the pathfinders. It makes me wonder why a woman who is believed to speak with Iomedae would act so harshly. I wonder what influence she may be under or if she is who she says. I think one of our next steps is to speak with this Erika, maybe the sheriff and perhaps the mayor. Anyone have any thoughts about this?
I just noticed the sheriff and the mayor are the same person
Kat C'ys |
I am not the biggest follower of religious faux pas, but would a true follower of Iomede even wish to hold a position of authority? The red mulls things over and thinks out loud, You are right that the size of the person seen fleeing the second murder scene should have cleared our fellows from suspicion of at least the second murder.
We need to interview this Erika, but it needs to be someone who can tell if she's a true follower of the Inheritor as well as if she may be under some outside influence. We also need to talk to the mayor as to why some things are overlooked in favor of the word of a, to borrow the term from our axe-man, god-botherer who may not yet be an official resident of the town. People seem to be too willing to listen to her without putting all the pieces of the story together.
We should also try and examine the murder scenes even though most everything we may find has probably been trampled under foot. It may also be a good idea to talk to the farmer who found the first body. I also do not think we found out anything as to the victims, who they were and what they were to the community.
It is too bad we do not have Sy with us right now. We could definitely use his aid to talk to Erika as well as offer "religious counsel" with the condemned instead of relying solely on Tarek.
I am not good with people so whatever we do next I will focus on trying to find what is trying to remain hidden. Other than that I do not know what the next best step to take would be.
Isador Kane |
Isador nods in agreement.
This just doesn't add up and everyone seems to be okay with the results. I would like to speak to farmer Otto since he discovered the first body.
I would feel much better if Tarek spoke with Erika since nothing about her seems to be anything but power hungry.
Eloriand Miller |
Eloriand shares his thoughts with the party. You know, this whole thing could just be a ruse to increase the economy of the area. Maybe things were a little depressed and all they needed was a good hanging to bring the people in with their spare change. Take it one step further and maybe it makes things easier to start a new church if there are a bunch of would-be parishioners in town. Something definitely stinks about this whole thing.
Kat C'ys |
Since Havelockk is a follower of the dead god, she looks at the soldier for confirmation, I would suggest he goes with Tarek to "talk" with Erika. I would also suggest that El goes with Izzy as his tracking skills may show things the rest of us may miss. Caoilte should also go with Izzy and El to prevent all of our heavy hitters from being totally separated from our lightweights. If we go this route than I will go with Tarek and Havelockk but do my best to remain neither seen nor heard and focus on finding what I can.
Havelockk |
Leaning back and listening, I nod in argeement that things do not add up or feel right.
Kat, what you say is true, I do follow the dead god and by default Iomeade, so I could think that if she is not whom she says she is, it will be pretty easy for me to see if she is in base or if she is off canon teachings. I'm in to go see Erika and with my perfect shave, I am sure I can help swoon out her secrects!! Laughing and rolling my eyes, I take a swig of my drink.
Tarek Delrin |
I will gladly Join Kat and Havelockk to speak with this Erika. It seems she is at the center of all this mess and at the very least she may make it clear what her involvement in this matter really is. I have something I wish to try when we meet with her and I think it will best to have Havelocck speak with her first and keep her occupied. Hopefully Kat may find some clue while she investigates out of sight. I think I will retire early and get a fresh start tomorrow.
Caoilte |
Licking the foamy froth of a fine stout from his lip Caoilte addresses Izzy and El. Kat called you lightweights. Tipping his mug again, through a smile. Does seem right that we team up. Izzy can have a golden throat when he wants. El, well you don't talk. And I'll be good for a little muscle or a get away if needed.
GM Brew |
The Archons take a moment to catch compare notes and grab lunch back at the Heath and Harvest. After sharing all information, the party plans their next step. They discuss possibly speaking to this Erika person, but discover she is not a native of Dawton and has no home or base here. Persons about the inn lead the party to believe that she sometimes stays at the inn but is not there at the moment. Their lunch needs satisfied, the party gets ready to continue their investigation.
Kat is correct, there is enough time in the day to hit up to four more places. Based on the information gleaned from Orug's store, the party is able to locate Otto's Farm and that location is now added to the list of possible investigation sites. So, who is going where?
Kat C'ys |
Well, how about Izzy, El and Caoilte hit up the farmer and check things out there. Perhaps the rest of us should go talk to the Mayor and Tarek can offer religious council for the condemned. I have no idea how to proceed from here or what we will find, but since we cannot talk with this Erika straight away, this may be our next best step.
Tarek Delrin |
That makes more sense. I thought each investigation was taking the entire day.
That is even more curious that nobody knows where Erika can be found during the day. I would think a follower of Iomedae would be very involved in the day to day activities of a town she wishes to establish a church. I agree with Kat. I am ready to visit the mayor and see if he will allow us to speak with the prisoners. It may be wise for me to go in alone and bot Kat and Havelockk can explore around outside. I think we may look suspicious if several of us enter the building. The mayor seems to be familiar with the societies fondness of sending out multiple investigators and we don't want to reveal our affiliation unless we are sure he can be trusted.
