#6–05: Slave Ships of Absalom

A Pathfinder Society Scenario designed for levels 1-5.

The metropolis of Absalom promotes commerce in its many forms, and although slavery is legal, it is increasingly common for citizens to frown on the institution. The practice becomes more questionable when an ally of the Pathfinder Society traces an attempt at supernatural surveillance through a slave. Sent as independent sleuths, the PCs must track down the source of this espionage, which takes them deep into underbelly of one of Absalom’s darkest industries.

Content in “Slave Ships of Absalom” also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Liberty’s Edge and Sovereign Court factions.

I have no specific corner cases/boons/rules for my character. He is a Falconer so I do have with me a Hawk Animal Companion. Full stats for both myself and the Hawk (who I don't name because I'm not that pretentious to do so) are on my character page. My combat tactics are to get my Hawk in close for melee attacks, going full combat attack with a bite and both talons, while I stay back and hit the enemy as hard as I can with my bow, using both Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot as often as I can.

For those who are new or new-ish to Pathfinder Play by Post (Pbp) please feel free to ask any questions in this discussion thread you have about how Pbp works, I'll try my best to answer them.

Once you have posted in your character's profile, I'll let you know if anything needs to be added or adjusted.

The actual game play won't start until Friday, August 25th, 2017 and may run through Thursday, October 5, 2017. So, we have time to get characters sorted and initial in character greeting going.

I have one chronicle sheet. I would like to spend 2 PP to purchase a Wand of Cure Light Wounds.

1) Nothing unusual that I know of.
2) She has a fairly high UMD, and a couple of decent knowledge skills.

Go to combat tactics: I try to decide which is the most dangerous enemy, and hex them for -2 to AC and then -2 to attack. I try not to heal in combat unless it's a real emergency.

I'm very familiar with PbP, and happy to help with any questions.

Go and post in the gameplay, then delete the message. You will be added as a character. Also, you need to fill our your character sheet.... Click on my name "Ironleaf Greentoes" and then click on my profile. That should give you a good idea of what GM's generally want.....

This is my 2nd PbP so I am passing along all the information I have learned to the new ones, and still picking up new good information....

Remember, its not whats logged on the website that matters, its what you have a phyica;/digital copy that does. For example, the past weekend at the RPGKC day my "main" played in two senarios. Those haven't been logged into the system, yet. But, because I have the sheets for them, they are official. Basically, if you have done 3, you should be level 2 right now. Congrats on the promotion!

Glexit Nenroy - Issue with Arctic Elf see note below. In PFS Scribe Scroll is not valid and gets replaced with Spell Focus of your choice. Need to select a bonded Item (suggest a ring or amulet) PC starts off with a non-magical bonded item. For wizard prepared spells, Only 2 level zero spells are selected out of 3 slots available. Everything else look good.

Updated and done. I have not, and will not name my companion. I do not own my hawk. He is here by choice. He is free to come and go as he pleases, and it pleases me that he chooses to stay as long as he does. He is not my slave, he is my partner, and I refer to him as such (compared to my adventuring companions who are referred to as as such).

Excited to get started. I've begun to fall in love with the mechanics of the Witch. Make it easier for your allies to hit and harder for them to hit your allies with just a glare, and if you don't save. That lasts forever.

It looks like none of our party members are trained in knowledge Local, so this could be interesting.

With Shalendra's +2 diplomacy, may just have to have four smiling Aid Another rolls behind her to get through these until the bard checks in.

Anyone can use Diplomacy or Bluff untrained just use the CHR modifier.

Unfortunately untrained knowledge local is a capped at a max of 10.

If the person has a bot instructions then I will try to use them, or just put the character on delay depending on the situation.

The goal is to have a post ever weekday, and maybe one or more during the weekend.

Like this weekend I've been rebuilding a deck so posting has been delayed.

Because GM didn't ask for a Knowledge Local roll, it makes me think we are supposed to go to the Majordomo now. Perhaps after we visit the Majordomo, the ship will have arrived in the harbor.

I'm new to PbP. We're about halfway through the time slot. Are we moving at a good enough pace to finish on time?

We should be on track to finish around oct 5th. Generally 1 week of PBP equates to about an 1 hour of table top play. We have just under 3 weeks left before Oct 5th.
