Works now, I can see it.
Also, I don't always ask this because a lot of people don't give it a lot of thought, but you all seem like the types who would... If your character were in a movie, who would they be voiced by? I envision Adeah as being voiced by Sigourney Weaver.

Wow, cool choice for a voice. I haven't thought of an actress for Sai, mainly because I sort of just have her own voice in my imagination but I'll give it some thought. Thanks for the idea.

After much thought, Charlize Theron would be my pic for Sai, live action or just voice if animated. She could pull off the flat, emotionless tones and the exceedingly rare flashes of emotion when her brother is around. She is tall and beautiful and has action character experience so the physical side is covered as well. She is a bit thin for Sai, and would need a few more pounds of lean muscle I think. And that's my choice. :-)
Fendel, CSI: Absalom |
Hmmm...the more I think on it, I am leaning toward a younger Lawrence Fishburn. He can do quiet intensity, and he was even on CSI for a few seasons, so you know he can handle all my Knowledge jargon. I reserve the right to make an adjustment, but he's the leading candidate at the moment.
Sai'Dothwyn |
I always think of the master of "a particular set of skills", Liam Neeson, when I think of Fendel. Lawrence Fishburn is great though now that I hear it in my head. Not that I am hearing voices... really...
Sai'Dothwyn |
Poor Tim Curry. Great choice for a voice mind you. I just wish he hadn't had the stroke.
And Alan Rickman was a great choice for Nivik, lol. I can picture the sneer and dark looks now. Also sad about him.
Awen |
I am really not sure who would voice Awen.. I am not so much up on TV or movies, and can never remember actors names. In my head, I hear a dark, gravelly voice pierced with pain and darkness, but also strong with hope and duty. He doen't talk all that much and is given more to brooding than speeches, but when his passion is up, he is hell on wheels. He can be snide, and when he deigns to respond to what he considers is frivolous or unnecessary can be quite abrupt and rude.
...almost a cross between Hellboy and Snape?

Mel Gibson from Braveheart?
Bill Pullman from Independence Day?

The imp was no concern to him.. He would shove it in a sack as soon as look at the evil little creature. His hatred for the demonic forces in the world burns just as bright as ever.
As for the Naga.. well, we will see what she has to say for herself.
Hahahaha, I look forward to your saying some of this in character and seeing what Milton's response is.

Hellboy (played by Ron Perlman) seems like a pretty accurate one for this. Or maybe Ben McKenzie as Jim Gordon from 'Gotham.'

Ben sure does a pretty good angry voice, I'll give ya that. Even when he plays Gordon as not angry it just sounds like his jaw is clenched.

Gravelly makes me think of Nick Nolte. Everything else you mentioned made me think of Nick Cage.
Y'all should start a thread for this in the PFS boards though. :)

As Sai is the late comer, I fully expected Milton or someone else to take charge with a direction to start, so I left it up to the group. I can give a nudge along though.
In my experience everyone expects everyone else to 'take charge' In most cases it is a matter of polite deference--no one wants to step on someone else's fun. The problem comes when everyone is being too polite to 'take charge'. Around a table there are usually non-verbal clues that say 'after you' or 'take the left' or even 'I am going to go and grab a soda, but move me to flanking if my turn comes before I get back.'
In PbP the problem of everyone giving everyone else space takes days to resolve. (Somewhere out there is a post about how many doors have led to PbP deaths). This is not a comment on you Sai, it happens in PbP all the time.
My general rule, which I have not stated in a while (I need to add it to my avatar's profile), is 4 people is a consensus, or 3 people and 24 hours, or 2 people and 48.... Please always make a suggestion for the next course of action. You will find
Thanks...
As for the success of the planes check & barrister check...
5+5+7+7+9+8/6=5.5 which is... what tier? I'll check back tomorrow though. It is too late tonight.

I've read the post on doors. Good stuff. Thanks for your feedback. I will keep it all in mind as we go.

No fair.. although it has been a while, you've played with Awen before and you know a bit more of his personality! lmao!
Hahahaha, I look forward to your saying some of this in character and seeing what Milton's response is.
Actually, so do I!! This is going to get pretty amusing.. and for the record, I love a good bit of RP.. its all in fun and jest so when it comes, don't worry about offending me!
Milton Smithson |
So, if we were sitting at an actual table together, we could laugh, make Monty Python jokes, and pass around a bag of chips, with me interspersing the dialog with Milton's being a jerk in character remarks.
Let me know if Milton gets over the top!
Unfortunately, with this particular group makeup you guys don't really get to enjoy Milton's racist side too!
Sai'Dothwyn |
Hey Milt,
Just right click on your Character Avatar here in one of your posts and move your mouse down to select <Copy image> and then go to the map link under the GM's post and when you get to the map just right click somewhere on the map and move your mouse down to select<Paste>. That is all there is to that.
Unless you were wondering how to avoid confusion(as Fendel just mentioned) and then I can't help you there. ;)
Milton Smithson |
Soooo, "right click" means nothing to those of us in an iPad, or a Mac. And at work, where I have access to a Windows PC, I don't have access to the google drive.
Sai'Dothwyn |
Ok, I put you on the map now. From an ipad, you can download google slides and open the map there and move your figure around.
Sai'Dothwyn |
For future, on an ipad you can just press and hold on the image and then choose copy from the optons.

Girlfriend and I both are :-). She doesn't play PFS, and there's at least an even chance she still won't by then, but I like to cram in as many games as I can.

If Milton is out of these scenarios by then, he'll be 8th level. Do you have something higher that we can play together?
I have some lower level characters too.
Adeah Silversong |
I have a paladin (wouldn't THAT be interesting) and a mystic theurge who are currently both level 8. We could definitely work something out.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Adeah Silversong |
My paladin is definitely a Bible-thumper. Mentioning Asmodeus won't get you hostility, but it'll definitely get you a "Leave your completely wrong ways and come to the glorious right way!" (Also he's not very bright.)

I wish I was going to be there at GenCon as it would be fun to meet you all. Since I am just playing PbP atm, with the exception of a convention now and then, I won't be leveling Sai, or any character of mine really, very fast. If things change and somehow I end up at GenCon this year I will drop a line.

I am seriously considering attending. My wife is in the middle of several reconstructive surgeries for a genetic condition of the knees. We are waiting for insurance approval before we move to the next step in the process (She has had 6 already, this 7th will be a complete reconstruction).. the timing of this surgery will determine whether or not I get to go or if I am home playing nursemaid.
:-) We are currently arguing whether or not I have to wear the nurses outfit or the french maid outfit and provide her with a small silver bell! I am trying to convince her that my EMT uniform will suffice, but she's not buying it.. not even when I throw in the Captain's bugles and the badge.. says she will get more of a laugh from the frilly as opposed to the shiny..
Sai'Dothwyn |
Best wishes on everything going your way for the surgery, insurance and recovery. That has been quite the ordeal from the description. So many procedures! Poor woman and poor you as I'm sure your feeling the stress from it all.
Awen |
Disturbing imagery! But of course, best of luck with the surgery and her recovery!
At this point if we don't laugh about it, then we're gonna be crying.. so yea. Disturbing imagery, but it gives us a laugh!
But thank yall! Hopefully I will be able to make it!

Tell her my money would only go to the nurses uniform. Seriously though, best wishes.
Negative for me at GenCon. Hopefully PaizCon, but domething will have to happen financially. :)
Fendel, CSI: Absalom |
To make an informed decision, I feel we need to see both options before this panel can make a recommendation.
Milton Smithson |
Admittedly true, depending on the shapelyness of your calves, the French Maid might definitely be the way to go. But don't discount how important the midriff region is for these matters. If it was me dressing up, you would want me in a full nun's habit!
Sai'Dothwyn |
I haven't met you Milton, but if you really want to cover up, go with the dalek costume.
Awen |
LMAO!!!!! I just woke up the wife laughing at this!!!! Now she's laughing.. grumpy, but laughing! Yall are too much.. but in all fairness I should have expected this from the RP going on in gameplay!
There is No way in all of the nine hells that I would allow such pictures to be obtained, much less put out online!!! And that is just as much for your safety, health, and mental well being as my own!
Milton, you leave my calves out of this.. I can't help it that I have chicken legs!!
Adeah.. Tell them they REALLY don't want to see that!
Adeah Silversong |
No I think they have a point. How do you expect them to agree or disagree with her if they can't see the options? :-)
