Deandre steps out of the mist, and is targeted by Serwe.
Will Save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 (D'oh!)
And also triggering Harrow's javelin. (Thunk!)
Deandre channels energy, yet again. Negative Energy Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Will Saves:
Arrack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Take 4 HP of damage.
Harrow: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Take 4 HP of damage. Yikes! Harrow must be hurting at this point.
Serwe: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 Take 2 0 HP of damage.
Tacitus: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 Take 4 HP of damage.
Ledford: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6 Take 4 HP of damage.
Halli: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8 Take 4 HP of damage.
Serwe Incantra |
I'm bored today, thanks for the quick replies this is fun!
Serwe lines up her assailant(s)? and utters words of ancient magic, her voice slowly becomes hypnotic.
Hypntism HD: 2d4 ⇒ (4, 3) = 7
Hypnotize 'em, they get +2 since we're in combat Will Save(s)? DC16
2D4 rounds of Fascination if they fail. I though you would probably want to roll that only if they failed.
Serwe says soothingly, in common, "Sit down my Sweetlings Let Auntie Serwe tell you bedtime stories, I can tell you miss your mothers, yes darlings sit..."
Harrow Tatterhood |
Harrow swings and misses as he yells in bitter anguish.
"WHY...ATTACK...US!!!"
MW nodachi power attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 for damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Down to 3/11...maybe time to wait for the other characters to show up. :)
Serwe Incantra |
Crap didn't notice you're that low sorry
Serwe awaits a chance to administer of a Healing Hex on Harrow.
If that's not possible Serwe will attempt to have her scorpion familiar deliver a touch spell Cure Light Wounds that I have prepared.
Gotta look out for pal Harrow!
GM Engleaktig |
Young and lithe, with red hair hanging in ringlets that just brush her shoulders, Deandre doesn't immediately appear as dire a threat as she actually is. She wears a long skirt, embroidered with silver and black thread and a high-necked woolen blouse, its stout fabric concealing her chain shirt.
But, the female human with a holy symbol of Norgorber simply laughs at Harrow--looking at him with obvious malice in her eyes.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Harrow is intimidated.
Harrow Tatterhood |
knowledge(religion) max DC 10: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5
Feeling a little uneasy around the young, attractive red-head, Harrow tries to think whether he knows anything about the holy symbol he sees. Nothing registers...as usual.
"You no say why attack? Me cut in half!" he yells as he attacks her again.
MW nodachi attack
(power attack): 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 6 - 2 = 21 dmg: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Heh...I rime again!
Thx for the heal!
Serwe Incantra |
Serwe will slip into the corner, reaching around to poke Harrow with a Cure Light Wounds or Healing Hex, whichever she didn't use last round.
Heal: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Harrow Tatterhood |
Harrow brings his polearm down in a vicious arc.
"Should not attack Harrow...you no like Harrow when he angry!"
MW nodachi power attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25 for damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
crit?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 for damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
Harrow Tatterhood |
"Maybe all Pathfinders must get used to ambush attacks for no reason," Harrow says. "But bad idea mess with Harrow."
He searches the corpses for anything useful or a sign as to why they were attacked.
Take 20
Yay! That was a fun time!
GM Engleaktig |
They targeted you because you're Pathfinders. They were simply looking for an easy payout, knowing Pathfinders often have excellent gear, good coin, and frequently carry important items and documents from place to place in town.

At the end of the day, Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin thanks you for carrying out his tasks, "Good work, Pathfinders. I assure you, not every mission for the Pathfinder Society involves running errands about Absalom." He reaches under his desk and pulls out a large sack, "On your way out, could you drop this off at the Dry Cleaner's?"
"Congratulations on proving your skill and responsibility," Valsin continues. "I'll try to get you a new assignment in the near future to take you beyond Absalom's unassailable walls."

Day job rolls?
Harrow Tatterhood |
profession (butcher): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Thanks for running the show! Very enjoyable...I love your fun and consistent style of DMing! Great job everybody!
GM Engleaktig |
Thanks, everybody! And thanks for playing. :-) I'm thinking about starting up either Master of the Fallen Fortress (1 XP, 1 PP) or The Godsmouth Heresy (3 XP, 4 PP). Do you have a preference?
I'm going to wait until Table 2 of First steps is done. I don't want to run more than two PbP games at a time. :-)
Harrow Tatterhood |
You were great to play with, too, Serwe! I've added on Harrow's character sheet that he likes witches, as long as they are not the scary kind!
I'd love to play on your next table. Caranthir would play Master of the Fallen Fortress. I've already played The Godsmouth Heresy with another character (I don't think that one is repeatable, right?).
GM Engleaktig |
It is a fun one! When I ran GMH in a tabletop setting, I had all sorts of cool printouts of Kaer Maga.
Here's a picture of the city. :-)
