Dry well and corpses … “I’m thinking ambush.”

Eadie puts her alchy's fire away, draws her enchanted falchion and waits to see if Dassah checks the wall carvings. She has a good look around for threats and traps, before checking to see just how dead the corpses are.

As Lhug-mor moves forward to ‘execute’ the corpses, Eadie changes her mind and decides to step back and cover him with a ranged weapon.

As Lhug moves through the courtyard, he has to throw his back against the wind and protect himself from the swirling sand. His blades demolishes the dead figure on the ground. Just as he is about to repeat the process again, he is able to hear Fleetwood's shout, Look out. The cleric is just able to see that several of the bodies aren't done being dead just yet!

Three of the undead are covered in spoiled rags. They shamble forward with their arms reached out. The fourth undead appears to be different. It is more a mash-up of flesh, jagged bone, and coarse hair. This abomination of humanity reeks of death and decay.

Eadie bows. “You’re too modest, Lhug”

The warrior scratches her chin as she begins the tale.

:
“In a hole in the ground there lived a ho…rrible lich king.”

She brings herself to a halt. “Oh wait, wait, wait. Before we begin, I should introduce the dramatis personae! Behind her hand as an aside to Dassah “That’s Tien you know.”

“There was a hero on his first quest.” She bows to Woody.
“A maiden fair.” Another bow to Lore.
“A stinky, fire-breathing dragon!” Behind her hand again. “That’s Lhug.”
“A dwarf and an elf that we greatly miss.”

She scratches her head. “There was one more … meh … they’re probably not important … who accepted a Royal decree to confront the lich ling in his lair!”

“The lich had gatekeepers who demanded the party turn back. The dragon could not abide it and made the ultimate sacrifice to save his companions … He traded a whole gallon of ale in return for our safe passage!”

Eadie pauses again and faces the Dragon. “Knowing now what I didn’t know then. I understand that was quite the sacrifice, Lhug. Thank-you.” Before continuing …

“Then things got strange in a wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey way. The company walked on the banks of a vast underground lake, when a large pleasure vessel suddenly appeared filled with middle-aged revellers! Some read, others gambled, dancing could be observed. Periodically the cry of ‘Bingo!’ rose up from amongst them and there was much chatter and partaking of spirits.”

“One lean, authoritative-looking fellow leaning against the rail must have said something outrageous to a pair of his white-haired companions. For they pushed him with such force that he toppled over the barrier to a watery doom!”

“Shortly after that, the dragon and the accomplished warrior woman (who I forgot earlier) got into an argument … over nothing … that turned out to be all the dragon’s fault.” Eadie looks sideways at Lhug sheepishly. “Well … maybe the warrior overreacted a little. Maybe.”

“At this point, the party entered the chamber of the lich. At first everything was silent. Well, apart from the howling of the wind through the tunnels like a banshee looking in the mirror.”

“One of the lich’s shambling minions appeared! With a cry of ‘Look out, slugs!’ the hero of Milani raised his crossbow and sent a seeking bolt over a wall and around three corners to strike the abomination dead!”

“The fair maiden sent out flame from her hands to crispify two more of the sluggish undead zombies. They called out ‘Braainssss!’ as the accomplished warrior and a newly arrived dancing dervish ended their lives on the ends of their respective blades.”

“While all this was happening, the dragon drew his katana and advanced bravely towards a stinky, fallen corpse that he suspected of being the lich king. Once he was joined by the accomplished warrior to show him which end of the blade to use, the dragon gallantly coup de grâced the helpless, stinky lich-corpse, ending its threat to the Kingdom of Osirion … but not before suffering some grievous wounds and contracting some kinda social disease from it.”
