Hagnar takes a step back from the impact (easy way to work in a 5' step =) then flings a vial of acid at the troll, attempting to add a biting insult to his earlier fiery injury! (which adds another 1 point of fire damage this round...)

The chief goes all out, raging and fuming as he does. It sinks its teeth into elindriel, and proceed to rend her flesh with two powerful claw attack.

The orc snarls "Look - there, several items of value." he notices as he casts detect magic. Spellcraft take 10 yields a 24 result.

"Moreover, this notebook contains many interesting informations."

Hagal has noted the location of the Thassilonian ruin to the west, where he spotted ogres laboring to uncover more of the site while directed by an ettin with a single tattoo on her face. The notebook also contains dozens of other observations of giant movements, construction, and plans that he would have returned to Councilor Kalla, had the trolls not captured him.

Monty looks at the small wound on Lunchmeat and the large ones on Elindriel "Might need a short respite eh?No point dying in a hurry"

"Good find Shandor, and some nice spells too - made quite a mess of those creatures" Monty points out appreciatively.

Monty listens to the conversation, then moves Lunchmeat to ensure they have no one in front of them to accidentally break a charge as they begin the quiet approach...

"Hmpf, a robe of blending. A simple trinket. I am ready to continue this massacre." gloats the orc.

Ceobryrn takes care of healing Lokie's wounds, then recovers what arrows he can and restocking his quiver from his backpack surplus arrows.

"If we rest up for the night, the spellcasters can recover and we start with a fresh slate. Aside from the smell, this place would be a secure site. However, I am not opposed to continuing on and pressing our advantage." Hagnar says. He will pull out his wand of cure light wounds and offer to heal up any who need it.

Elindriel takes out her own wand and taps herself several times, until there is nary a scratch on her.

2 Infernal heals

As the party approaches through the bushes, the axebeak lets out a cluck. From beyond, the conversation stops. Monty stands eye to eye with a two-headed giant, flanked by several ogres.

“You!” shouts the head on the left. “Why are you here? Are you here to help?” The head on the right replies, “You dig or you die, tiny scum.” The head on the left counters with, “She didn’t mean that. Actually, she did mean that. But, much better if you help. She keeps saying to dig all day, telling other giants they must dig too. Day and night, nothing but dig. Something is wrong with Pahg.” Pahg snarls, “Why you talk to puny humans, Vahr? I say we crush them.”

"Are you talking to me? Are YOU talking to ME?" Monty replies to the argumentative head "Because you clearly must have been digging out from the rock you live under to not know you were talking to the Amontillado like so!" Monty gestures and gets all offended.

"Why don't you let the smart one do the talking bone head!"

"Now, you were saying?" he addresses the smart one.

Shandor doesn't need to rest, he's fine to move onwards.

The orcish sorcerer echoes Amontillado's haughty attitude. "You be quiet and let him speak. We'll have none of your nonsense. None, you hear!"

Intimidated by the bravado of Amontillado, the 'Vahr' head of the giant snarls Shut up, Pahg!

Pahg is acting strange! Weird creatures in the cave put some curse on him.

Vahg tries his very best to keep Pahg under control, and doesn't seem to have the will to attack. He even looks somewhat hopeful at the arrival of the adventurers.

Shandor whispers to his companions "Interesting, the symbols on Pahg’s face are the Thassilonian runes for wrath and sloth, suggesting that the curse originates from the ancient empire of Thassilon. See, it's the same rune that I bear on my forhead."

Ceobryrn wonders if Pahg is acting under some sort of mind control, though with giants it sometimes hard to tell.

Monty looks to Shandor hopefully as though suggesting he keeps doing the talking as he seems to know something about the tattoos.

"Yes, the rulers of Thassilon, a group of powerful wizards known as runelords, developed a curse that they used to force giants into slavery. This must be the curse Pahg is under. The curse forces its target to follow a specific command until it dies, and can only be removed with the most powerful of spells, like limited wish, wish, or miracle. " Hagnar says, recalling some ancient bits of Thassilonian lore. "I surmise the command was to uncover something in the ruins...this may be to our benefit. It may also cause some...challenges... once the artifact is found."

Monty 'tsks' and nods for dramatic effect, reinforcing Hagnars message.

While the adventurers examine Pahg-Vahr, Pahg becomes increasingly mad Dig, tiny humans! Clear the rubble!

Shandor discreetly waves one of his wands, allowing a giant rune of wrath to appear as an aura over his head. Silent image

Then his raspy voice emerges as if coming from below the earth, becoming louder every second to the point a giant's voice is but a mewling sound compared to his.

"NOW HEAR ME, MAGGOT! I am the Runelord of Warth reincarnate, and you will BOW to me. You recognize the signs of power. You know the runes of obedience when you see them."

Shandor's voice varies between an almost complacent, honeyed tone and that of a master ordering his slaves.
"Serve me and you will earn your place among the higher ranks of my giant thralls. Anger me and you will be dust, just like those who entered the tunnel. Now which will it be?"

"Now - Vahr, is it? We may be able to rid of you of that curse, but the means to that lie within these ruins. You will allow us entry, and clear the rubble for us. We will face the source of the curse for you, and thus shall begin your path to glory in my wake."

Love a good bluff!!

Vahr is greatly intimidated by Shandor's display of prowess. The two-headed giant commands the bystanding ogres to start clearing the rubble. Soon, however, a sense of conflict comes over the giant, and Pahg looks to win out over Vahr. Looking at the party with a rageful glare, the double-headed giant moves on the attack!

Shandor then casts a spell to empower his companions.

Perhaps diplomacy next time, since intimidation doesn't last long...

Elindriel, seeing the conflicted giant advance, begins singing inspirational songs of past battles to inspire her comrades, and casts another spell to create duplicates of herself before she wades into battle.

Yes, too bad it didn't work. That being said, Diplomacy is not Shandor's forte (character-wise). He has no patience with creatures he deems inferior.

Was cool though.

Lirianne moves forward (move action, hasted), drawing her pistol. Leveling it at the two-headed ogre, she waits to see if he makes a move toward her or the other pathfinders.

Pahg-Vahr runs at Lirianne, but the side that was referred to as Vahr is completely hesitant to attack. While Pahg is swinging a large sword at Lirianne, Vahr does not attack at all!

Hmm Monty was on Lunchmeat, and setting up for a charge lane... yet is starting in the worst possible location behind the trees... the ONLY place from which he can't do his thing :p

"Time to put your life out then. You are not worthy to look at me. Be blind!"

Hagnar takes advantage of his hasted movement and follows Lirianne, pulling out a potion and drinking it as he goes. He blinks out of view, and only the most astute can sense where the investigator is!

Drinking potion of invisibility! This potion makes Hagnar vanish for 3 minutes or until heattacks. While invisible, Hagnar gains +20 to Stealth (+40 if standing perfectly still). The first attack before becoming visible gains a +2 to hit (and the enemy likely loses its Dexterity bonus to AC).
