We be licktoads, we make raid
Put the Longshanks to the blade!
Burn them up from feet to head
Make them hurt then make them dead!

Cut the parent into ham
Smush the babies into jam
All the rest in pot get stewed
We be licktoad - you be FOOD!

You are goblins of the Licktoad tribe, who live deep in Brinestump Marsh, south of the hated man-town called Sandpoint. Once, other goblins tried to burn Sandpoint down, and they would have been legends if they had succeeded. But they didn’t bring enough fire, and got themselves killed as a result.

Yesterday, your tribe discovered that one of your own had been using forbidden arts and was engaged in one of the greatest of taboos—writing things down. In fact, rumor holds that what he was writing was a history of your tribe! There’s no swifter way to bring about bad luck than stealing words out of your mind by writing them down, and so your tribe had no choice. You branded the goblin’s face with letters to punish him, which is why everyone calls him Scribbleface now, and then you ran him out of town, took all of his stuff, and burned down his hut.

That’s where things got interesting, because before you all burned down his hut, Chief Gutwad found a weird box within the building. Inside was a map and a lot of fireworks—fireworks that immediately came to use in burning the hut down. Then, this morning, Gutwad announced that tonight there would be a feast in order to drive out any lingering bad luck from Scribbleface’s poor decisions. But perhaps even more exciting, all of you have been secretly invited to meet at Chief Gutwad’s Moot House. Why would the chief want to speak to you? It can only mean that he’s got an important mission for you all... one that the other goblins of the tribe couldn’t pull off. This could be your chance to go down in Licktoad history!

The ruler of the licktoads is His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad, who rules the tribe from atop the teeter chair. The chair is six foot high and allows him to more more properly look down on his subjects. His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad is known not to speak directly to his subjects. His mighty words are so strong that they would scare away all the words in the heads of lesser goblins. Only slob - he is very well dressed to he must be very important - can handle the might of the chief's words without fainting from fear.

The chief's moot house lies at the centre of the licktoad village. It's a museum of all the heroics of the chief: stolen weapons, shiny bit of treasure, pickled, brutally slaughtered small animals (mostly dogs). Inside, His Mighty Girthness Chief Rendwattle Gutwad.

“You all be heroes. Each of you. You are best Licktoads but for me. And maybe but for Slorb. That you aren’t fleeing in terror from mighty sound of my voice is all the proof you should need. Yet soon, all Licktoad goblins will know your might, for I have
picked you for a dangerous mission.

“You know about fireworks and map we found in Scribbleface’s hut. Fireworks were fun. But map is more fun. It shows a route to a place near the coast where Scribbleface found fireworks. And it says there are more fireworks there!

“I want them for Licktoads. You all go get them tomorrow. Tonight we have big bonfire to burn bad luck away from you, and we play many games. Much fun. Tomorrow you fetch me fireworks. If you meet men, you make them dead. If you meet dogs, you make them dead. If you meet horses, you make them dead. If you meet Lotslegs Eat Goblin Babies Many, you maybe should run. And if you not find fireworks, you not come back or we feed you to Squealy Nord!”

He then gestures Slorb to give the little goblins the map, and gestures the goblins out of the moot house.

You can roll K(local)

"We get fireworks for Licktoads and Zarongel, your Mighty Girthiness."

I not know if maps same as reading. I will let another goblin take. Maybe Reta not think enough to care.

Poog backs out of the house, turning his thoughts to more glorious fireworks.

Pooh doesn't have K(local) as a skill, but here is his roll in case that's okay in this case: K(local): 1d20 ⇒ 4

It seems Poog's memory is even worse than his riding skills. He knows nothing! He could still asks roundteh village, of course.

"Oh yes, fire was fun. We will get more fireworks for you, mighty chief. And we will make dead any men, dog, horse that we find."

Chuffy will take the map before leaving the hut. Once outside he pulls out "Fat Frog", his lucky toad and begins to whisper to it.

"Fat Frog, we will be heroes. We get more fireworks and bring them back. We be greatest among the Licktoads."

K(Local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Chuffy:

Chuffy not as stupid as Poog! Chuffy know many things! Like about Brinestump march: it be home of goblins. Human don't come here, humans afraid of monster. Goblins afraid of monsters too, but that's why goblins have dogslicer. Marsh has many foods! Some foods are food, some foods make you sick. Some foods make you dead! So don't eat ALL the food. There are dogs in the swamp, and giant bugs, and snakes and big frogs. And Lotslegs Eat Goblin Babies Many. And Vorka

Lotslegs eat goblins babies many has many legs and eat goblins. Goblins afraid of lotslegs. Map of Scribbleface go along place of lotslegs.

Vorka greatest terror of swamp. Vorka was wife of chieftain before Vorka ate chieftain. Now lives in swamp, and eat goblins who walk away too far! Some say this is only story!

Goblins hold big bonfire, built from scribble face's hut. The teeter chair, with His Girthness on top, is carried. This is the start of an all=night party. There's cider! Goblins must drink cider!

And there's games. Chuffy, Reta, Mogmurch and Poog are guests of honour! All guests of honour must play games, the goblins think. First game is Dancing with squeaky nord, the fearsome board of the licktoad tribe (actually just a hyperactive piglet).

Those who want to participate: I need three consecutive ride checks to ride back of squeaky nord without falling off

HP 22/23, AC 17/13/15, Fort +5, Ref +6, Will +6 Male Goblin Cleric 3

Poog want not sound not smart.

Poog walks around the party, sternly talking to Dogfinder, his lucky pet toad, about not paying attention to Chief Gutwad. When he sees a friendly goblin, he says, "Dogfinder not listen to me, maybe he listen to you - tell him about Brinestump March and Lotslegs Eat Goblin Babies Many."

Poog drinks cup after cup of cider to get courage to ride Squeaky Nord.

Zarongel, god of mounted combat, give Poog skill to ride fearsome boar!

Ride: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Hmm, how did Scribbleface get past the Lotslegs? Scribbleface was no great warrior like Chuffy and the others. We get by the Lotslegs.

Chuffy sits and watches the party, Fat Frog near him as he drinks cider. He watches Poog talking to Dogfinder about Brinestump and Lotslegs.

"Chuffy knows, Chuffy knows lots. But first, Chuffy will dance with Squeaky Nord."

Ride: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21

It helps to put this thread on my sticky list. Makes me feel almost as dumb as a goblin except my goblin has an int of 15. :)

Mogmurch will play,
ride: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 251d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 241d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Proving once again his awesomeness at riding.
Then he will find Remty, "I be leaving on secret mission in the morning. I get to go burn things!" he says with glee.

Don't feel too bad, I did the same thing. Didn't think to check if the gameplay tab was open. Just kept checking the discussion.

Poog tries to ride Squealy Nord. He stays on the boar... one.. two.. three.. four.. five.. six.. seven.. ooh aaah. No! Poog gets thrown off! He lands face first in the sand. Hahahaha!

Chuffy tries as well. seven.. eight.. nine. ten.. eleven.. almost.. almost.. noo! Boooh! Chuffy fall as well!

Then Mogmurch. twelve... thirteen.. fourteen.. fifteen... ooh aah... sixteen. Boooh! Boooh! Mogmurch makes it! No grubbling in the dust, boooh!

Poog, Chuffy, please each make a DC 10 Reflex save of take 1d3 points of damage

His Girthness whispers something to Slorb. Hmm yes. Mogmurch gets a present. Mogmurch can borrow one of the chief's items! Morgmurch can borrow the 'Dragon brew Gourd', and flask full of an elixir takes makes you breathe fire! Fire good!

But there's more! Another contest... Eat a bag of slugs real quick! Goblins have one minute to eat slugs. Slugs are big, slugs are slimy. Slugs taste yucky! Goblins must eat five slugs to win!

Eat 5 slugs in 10 rounds. You need a fortitude save to swallow one, which is hard if you take care to spit out the poisonous slime bladder, easier if you don't. Eating a slug takes a full round.

Reta's delayed ride attempt:

Just curious if this causes a "sickened" condition. If it does, Chuffy gets 2 saves and takes the better due to his Pustular trait.

Reflex Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Poog brushes sand off his face and checks to make sure Dogfinder didn't get squished. His only damage is to his pride.

Glad Chuffy make Poog look not so bad. Mogmurch now my not favorite. Poog should have fire breath.

Give Poog slugs. Poog show how to eat them safe and quick.

Poog eats the slugs, carefully removing the poisonous parts.

Crowd would think slugs are yummy. Reta, Poog and Chuffy eat slugs. Reta thinks slugs are disgusting, and spits out first, but then eats a whole lot! Chuffy eats one immediately, but turns green - even greener (Yes, the slugs can cause a sickened condition). Chuffy eats only one slug! Booh!

Poog tries - but - YUCK! First slug is really really slimy. YUCK! Poog tries, pooh tries hard, but eats only two slugs! Poog not have stomach!

Reta is the champion of slugs! Somehow that is very fitting ;-)

Chief gives Reta his Gorge of Gluttons to use. (It's a +1 dog slicer, that goes to +3 against horses, and deals 2d6 bonus damage against horses)

The crowd thinks goblins are really bad at eating! Maybe they are better at 'hide or get clubbed'

To play, make a stealth check. Goblins will come search for you. If they find you, they club you!

Chuffy and Poog good at hiding. Reta good at teasing. Chuffy hide really well. Many goblins search, and no-one can find Chufft. Poog also hide really good, goblins find no trace of Poog.

His girthness thinks each goblin is really a champion of hiding, but chief likes face of chuffy better. Chuffy may borrow the Ring That Lets You Climb Real Good!

One more dare left. Will Poog win this time?

Goblins must crawl through the rusty arbiter. It's all rusty wires and coiled hoop, and many goblins have lost pieces of ear. Feasting goblins roll out the rusty arbiter, slashing ankles and bleeding fingers. Go go! they shout: they think the chief's heroes must go through.

To crawl through, make a series of six escape artist checks...

Slorb say You also brave, almost as brave as Slorb that what chief said? you get chief's Personal Useful Robe that is very Useful. A robe of useful items with only four patches left—a ladder, a three-legged turtle, a horseshoe, and a bullhorn.

Party continues! Singing! Pranking! Cider!

Who is the cider king? All goblins what drink cider feel regret next morning (If you drink cider, make a DC 8 Fort save)

Next dawn, chief brings message [b]get fireworks and bring them here. Goblins get some fireworks that were Scribbleface's: two Desnan candles, four paper candles and a skyrocket.

"Chuffy! Find Mogmurch. He probably saying long goodbye to Remty. Maybe ring cowbell to wake him. Poog find Reta. Should be easy to see her super large big head."

After long night of fun with Rempty, Mogmurch feels quite ready to face the gates of a god's domain, hopefully that won't be required though.

Mogmurch struts forward carrying his funny bag of stuff. "Everyone ready? Lets go find the pretty bombs!" then he promptly heads off in high spirits without waiting to see if everyone is coming.

Fireworks:

Paper candle

This finger-sized explosive detonates noisily 1 round after lighting. Anyone in the same square as a paper candle when it explodes must make a DC 15 Fortitude save or be dazzled for 1d4 rounds.

Skyrocket

When lit, this foot-long wooden tube begins to shake and emit a handful of white sparks, shedding light as a torch. One round later it takes flight, moving at a speed of 90 feet for 1d6 rounds before loudly exploding in a burst of light and sound, dealing 2d6 points of fire damage in a 10-foot-radius burst (Reflex DC 15 halves). Anyone who takes damage from the explosion is either blinded or deafened (50% chance of either) for 1 round.

Desnan candle

5 gp; when lit, this foot-long wooden tube launches a flaming pyrotechnic “candle” every round for 4 rounds. Each projectile deals 1 point of nonlethal damage and 1 point of fire damage if it hits; on a critical hit, the target is also blinded for 1 round. The projectiles shed light as candles for 1 round and have a range increment of 5 feet. Attacking with a Desnan candle is a ranged touch attack and always has a –4 nonproficiency penalty.)

Mogmurch stirs together the last bomb and adds something to make it smell like bog gas this time, well he hopes it smells like bog gas this time. He is still figuring that part out.

He does try to avoid Reta this time though.

Chuffy retches at the smell of flowers mixed with burning lotslegs and himself.

"Mog, burn lotslegs not goblins."

Chuffy turns back to the spider and stabs at it again, aiming for the spot where he hit last time.

"Chuffy small. Chuffy quick. Chuffy says you stabby pick."

Stab: 1d20 + 5 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 2 = 9

Chuffy watches as his blade slips between the legs of the spider.

"Flowers throw off my aim."

Lost in his devotion to Zarongel, Poog doesn't notice the smell of flowers as he moves closer to Lotslegs to slice at its abdomen with his dogslicer.

attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4; 1d4 ⇒ 3

"Son of a small-headed goblin! Poog better slicer than that!"
