Grok nods as Rufus relays the info. "My apologies, would 250 gold be enough?"

Kargen Hapspring |
"Tyranny needs to be stopped wherever it stands, especially in Andoran itself." Kargen slowly nods. "I'm with you, Major. I just hope we're not signing our own death warrants. We will have no safe haven anymore should our enemies look to strike back. I suppose that can make us stronger." He salutes the Major, though then he simply clasps his hand, realizing the salute may be outdated now.

As Grok offers the woman the money, Kargen grumbles at the outrageous bribe. "This had better be good."
Hailey |
Ah..but good woman..think of the cosmic karma you will gather for giving us a good deal. And it's much less trouble for you to make this money then to go to where ever you got this from and retrieve some more yourself...and we might be able to send some more customers your way when you tell them from whom we got our merchandise..we'll be walking advertisements for you. "
Diplomacy/Haggle to get the price down: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (12) + 14 = 26
Tyrion Wyrmbane |
"Yes and if you agree to tell us for a decent price, I will tell you how to get rid of the curse that haunted this family and the holders of their jewelry. These Osirion curses can be quite nasty. I believe one fellow burped up toads for weeks untill he got his curse removed." Tyrion warns the pebbler.

Hailey quickly interrupts Grok as he suggests a much higher price than previously offered, spins the deal and eventually manages to settle it on 175 gold pieces.
She moves closer, so as to not be overheard A man named Vonraig sold me this. I didn't quite trust the fellow, so I hired a few urchins to shadow him after his most recent sale. According to their reports, Vonraig purchased bright green chalk and slipped into the sewers below the Petals District before emerging with a small bag that jingled like coins.
Tyrion Wyrmbane |
"Agreed. Her information will be useful though. "

If Gygax had started with Pathfinder society, he would have called it Sewers & Dinner Parties
Following Iara the Peddler's directions, the sewer entrance is behind a brick wall, that has some green chalk markings on it. Upon closer inspection, the brickwork is loose, and can be disassembled - its already been done several times before, it seems.
DM Kludde |
It appears Vonraig has repeatedly opened and closed this entrance, carefully restoring the wall upon each passage. He did not rig it with any traps.
Tyrion Wyrmbane |
"Unless anyone minds I will take the front. Could be Otyughs around." Tyrion says as he draws his weapon and shield and takes the lead.

Tess falls in the back of the group, maintaining a fair distance from the front of the group.

Bloodhound is still active so I have scent if that makes a difference at certain points.
Tyrion studies the first couple of meters inside, seeing if he can't find any tracks or clues that could give hints as to the direction to take or what creatures inhabit this sewer.

DM Kludde |
Tyrion follows the trail through the sewers, though green markings also trace the path. After a short trek through the sewers, the party comes upon another repaired brick wall - quite clearly the same kind as before. Opening up behind the wall is an ancient Osirian tomb. Viewed from the entrance, the tomb looks unaffected by the waters from the sewers. Some murals can be seen from here, as well as a number of sarcophagus'. The only source of light is the scant illumination coming from the sewer grating above the tunnel behind the party.

Who is the first to step into the tomb?
Grok Earbiter |
perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
"Something seems off, but I can't place it." Maybe it's the fact that there is a tomb in the sewers beneath Absolomn.
Tyrion Wyrmbane |
Tyrion of course. In preparation of the tomb Tyrion casts heroism on himself. Tyrion knows these ancient tombs can be trapped from experience and studies the surroundings closely. Perception: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34

DM Kludde |
Just as Tyrion is about to step into the tomb, he notices a very small, but visible magical glyph on the entrance. It flashed up just briefly, as if priming itself for discharge upon further movement in. Tyrion immediately realises: it's a magical trap.
Tyrion Wyrmbane |
"Careful lads. It's a trap! Could someone try to disable it? Otherwise step back and I will absorb it." Tyrion says.
He casts detect magic to try to determine what kind of spell would go off.

Tyrion detect a substantial illusion aura, but cannot put his finger on what it is.
Hailey |
Hailey shakes her head
I'm not that good at disabling traps."
(Recasting Guidance and Virtue on Tyrion just before he walks in to trigger the trap in case we go for that option).
Hailey will then wait around the corner/to the side (hopefully out of blast radius) but within 30 so she can reach Tyrion in case it goes badly.
I really need to get a scroll of summon monster for this sort of thing
Tessara Omelion PFS |
"I'm no trap springer," Tess clucks as she follows Hailey out of the range of the magic (hopefully.)
Kargen Hapspring |
Kargen tosses a stone towards the trap to see if he can trigger it without Tyrion stepping into it.
Kargen also has Profession, Trapper if that might help him trigger it without harming anyone.
Profession, Trapper: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Kargen tries his hands on the trap, but this is really nothing like a woodland snare.

he has a will save mod of +17 vs will spells with guidance and heroism though :p. And he know it will be an illusion. Wasn't there someone else who could disable stuff?

DM Kludde |
+17? Wow. Add another +4 for knowing it as an illusion...
Tyrion steps in, and sees his worst nightmare materialise before his eyes. Disdainfully, he shrugs off the illusion, and discharges the trap.
The tomb wall’s depictions of funerary rites and stylized illustrations of life in Absalom are still fairly well preserved. Over a dozen small, terra cotta statues of humans equipped to perform common chores line the north and south walls, and at least as many urns and coffers are scattered throughout the room. The eastern sarcophagus is partly open, and disintegrating shreds of linen nearby attest to someone having ransacked the contents. This is probably where the amulet came from.
Kargen Hapspring |
"I wonder how the tomb thieves bypassed that illusion. Perhaps it will reset. We should be wary." Kargen thinks out loud.
"Well, should we examine the tomb or leave it undisturbed further and tell your Sage?"
DM Kludde |
Th party steps into the burial tomb. It is a stange sight indeed, to find an Osiriani monument beneath the pavement on Absalom. The illustrations, the terra cotta warrior - this must have been an influential family indeed.

The party only has a few moments to enjoy their find as a grey-skinned man steps in, flanked by two burly-looking axe warriors. Visitors? How appropriate that this is a burial tomb, then. Without hesitation, he casts a spell, and a loud cacophonous noise fills the air, almost bursting the ear drums of Kargen, Tessara and Rufus...
