Husarq knocks the prone efreeti on the temple, which is enough to knock the dark creature out.
I'll leave it to Fronar to confirm whether he wants to kill the fetchling. Either way, combat is over!
Mareq Bolthune |
"Husarq, tie him up and stand guard while I heal him. Then we shall see if he can explain to us where we can find the daughters."
Mareq pulls his wand from belt and attempts to recall the command word for the thing.
"hmmm, err..."
Not hinting that anybody else burn a charge. I can do it. But, just thought I'd let others weigh in on this mini plan/interrogation idea before moving forward.
Kelsier Palance |
Kelsier grimaces at the Fetchling, but says nothing.

The crumpled fetchling lies on the floor, unconscious, unable to act...

"So, creature. Welcome back to the land of the living. We seek a simple answer to a simple question. You answer at your peril, of course. But please, consider this as a wise choice for a wise being such as yourself. We are willing to cease our hostilities, you get to report back to your superiors about us and prepare them for future encounters, and you don't die. Really, a good compromise on both our parts, don't you think? Are you willing to answer a question?"

Husarq, you dolt. Aid me if you can.
Husarq, jolted by the telepathic communication, steps forward, sheathing his giant efreeti blade.
"My master is correct. I think this is a good deal for you and we will be able to leave this place sooner if you answer."

Kelsier scowls at the Fetchling. "Where are they?"

DM Kludde |
The dark creature just hisses I am at your mercy, do what you will. Know that I am but a hired hand for the Onyx alliance.
Upon Kelsier's question, the creature answers in the Ritual Chamber resolutely, as if he is all too aware who 'they' are.
DM Kludde |
This is a secret to me. This I do not know. The motives of the Alliance are theirs only.
Mareq Bolthune |
"Ah, yes. No doubt the motives and inner plans of the Alliance are a secret known only to it and their leaders. But, really, what is the Alliance? Who is the alliance?"
Just looking for some basic information on the Onyx Alliance. Basic nature, leadership, races in it, general goals, headquarters, stories/tales, etc.
DM Kludde |
The alliance are not like you. They are like us, residing in shadow. They use the shadow, move in the shadow. They seek wealth, slaves, possession. They project themselves on your world with the wightir. Take what is theirs to take, they use the tangible shadow, the liquid night, to cross over. The material freemen enters, and is branded a shadow slave by the liquid night, all in the night of the conjunction.

It's the one at the end of the long hallway
Kelsier Palance |
Kelsier scowls at the Fetchling and leaves him behind, walking back into the hall.

Olga and Ajah seem determined to end the threat now, and Kelsier adds action to those thoughts by moving back to the hallway.
Anything you want to do before kicking the door down?
Fronar Gossamar |
anyone need to heal to max hp? I've got a wand of CLW. Just post how many charges you need. I also have a wand of bless, if anyone can use it, I'll pass it over and "buff" us before opening the door.
DM Kludde |
The sign above this high door reads “Biological Oddities” in clear lettering, while a dark reflection of the same sign warns that the room beyond contains a “Ritual Chamber.”
Harsh, cold light floods this room from the ceiling, gleaming off the marble walls and shining across the polished granite floor. Myriad pedestals display stuffed creatures suffering from unspeakable deformities, and liquid-filled glass tanks hold the shrivelled bodies of even stranger anomalies. In the room’s center, a wide ebony pyramid rises ten feet off the ground; darkness seems to flow out from its top into the air like ink in clear water. Indistinct rune circles, candelabras, and idols cover what can only be the site of barbaric sanguinary rites, occupying the same space in the Shadow Plane.
Standing before the dais is the thin gray form of a fetchling. Kneeling before him, the Blakros daughters, Eleanir and Michellia, sway in a sort of trance as the man seems to be preparing for a ritual by coating a thin knife in a strange black liquid.

Mareq engulfs the fetchling in flame. Despite this obvious distraction, neither the enlarged Kraang! not the sneaky Kelsier manage to hit the dark creature. (Kelsier, stepping one square north would give you flanking). Olga waits until the fires subsides.

Kraang and Kelsier team up on the fetchling, and its unclear whether the dark creature was already dead by the time Olga tags it down, or whether it is the vicous cuts by Fronar that eventually finish him off, but when the smoke clear, the fetchling lies motionless on the floor.
The girls are still in trance, but have not been touched by the blade of the fetchling. The 10-foot- tall black stone pyramid exudes an eerie black essence from its apex, which seeps into the air and slowly dims the illumination of the room.
Surrounding the relic’s apex are a dozen red stones set into the rock face.
Removing the stones should sabotage the planar overlay effect.
You can use disable device to remove a stone (DC 15), or you can just smash the things
Kelsier Palance |
Kelsier looks at the Fetchling's body, then at the girls. I'm still pissed.
Kelsier is useless at anything Knowledge related. Fair warning: he will want to explore the last room--there might be some more prisoners to free there.

Fronar starts prying out one of the stones, and the shadowy overlay flashes briefly. The two blakros girls, deeply entranced, still seem to be firmly anchored to the material plane, but the body of the slain fetchling briefly winks out of view. It seems that yanking out the stone will disconnect the material plane from the show plane, and each plane get to take home its own denizens.
I'm seeing a yes (Fronar) and a no (Kelsier) for continuing this way, so I'll wait for two more players to chime in with their opinion
DM Kludde |
There's still two entranced Blakros scions at the base of the pyramid. Alternatively, the two doors that haven't been investigated in the eastern room are still unopened.
Where to?
