In sweeps the ifrit man you saw earlier. But this time his face is bright red with rage, his red hair floating about like flames as he steps up to the efreeti who most recently announced him.

"You pathetic piece of DUNG! How dare you forget my honorifics! Must I punish you again?" screams the ifrit. He quickly slaps the efreeti across the face and <ptew> spits in his face.

"BEGONE! BEGONE FROM MY SIGHT, MISBEGOTTEN SCUM OF THE PLANES!" he screams, spittle flying from his mouth.

The efreeti bows his head in shame and mutters "As you command, oh greatest one." With that, he disappears suddenly in a cloud of smoke and cinder.

"Ahem," coughs Mareq al-Shamir. "My apologies for my terribly rude and inarticulate slave." As the smoke clears from the departure of the efreeti, you can see the last, lingering glimpse of sheer madness in Mareq's eyes depart, too.

"Yes. Yes. So, where were we, then...?"

You see before you a short, obese woman dressed mainly in furs and wearing a helmet with two large horns on top. She wears a dirty apron covered with splashes of dough and a large, oversized backpack. In her right hand, she toys with a rolling pin while the other rests on her belt.

"..Oh my..."

She says at the sight of the scene in front of her. She continues in a sultry voice:

"I like your... fiery passion. Say, you wouldn't already have a girlfriend, do you?"

Before moving up to Mareck and stroking his arm tactlessly.

The tall humanoid looks over his fellow Pathfinders with an unnerving gaze. He is draped from head to in blood red cloth with only his eyes and hands exposed. The eyes are cloudy like sour milk. It rests its body on his stout quarterstaff as long, rubbery fingers fondle its shaft. Every once in awhile, a gurgle echoes from the creature's concealed throat.

"Kraang. Is. Here."

Venture-Captain Drandle Drang looks tired as he calls an emergency meeting in the middle of night at his chambers in the Grand Lodge. “I’m sorry to call you in on such short notice and on such a dark night, but a friend of the Society needs your help immediately.”

From an adjoining chamber, an elegantly dressed woman of middle age with olive skin and long, straight black hair and piercing eyes steps into the room. “Allow me to introduce to you Hamaria Blakros, of the esteemed Blakros family, whose name I’m sure you all know.”

Hamaria sits at Dreng’s side, smooths her satin dress over her knees, and speaks in a clear though pained voice. “I’m afraid my forebears made a terrible mistake, and I need you to help remedy the situation. When the Blakroses were first gaining a financial and social foothold centuries ago, my ancestors made a pact called the Penumbral Accords with a strange organization on the Shadow Plane called the Onyx Alliance, which granted us trade routes through its dark realm to avoid unpleasant searches, tariffs, and questions among the many parties with whom we traded. At the time, this was an invaluable service, but as our wealth and influence grew, the benefits became less pronounced. Now, almost five centuries later, we no longer want to pay the ongoing price of this agreement. Since that time, we’ve been providing a steady stream of slaves to the Onyx Alliance... including the eldest of our daughters each generation. This year we have two eldest daughters—my twins Eleanir and Michellia—and I refuse to let them be taken!

“But we can’t actively break the Penumbral Accords ourselves. We don’t know all the details other than our end of the bargain, which requires us to deliver slaves to our very own Blakros Museum on the night of each new moon—and to deliver the eldest Blackros daughter of each generation on the new moon after her 21st birthday. We are told to stay away until dawn, and have honored this command thus far. In every instance for generations, we’ve returned to find no sign of the slaves or our own heirs left in the building. They’ve got some device that lets them take our daughters to their plane, something that only functions one night a month, and only until dawn. That night is tonight, and my Eleanir and Michellia are already there! I need you to get in before the sun rises and deactivate or destroy whatever allows them to keep stealing our people. If that prevents them from ever threatening us and holding the Penumbral Accords over our heads again, even better.”

Dreng leans forward. “You understand, I’m sure, how valuable our relationship with the Blakros family is to the Decemvirate. Their assets at the museum are immense, and assisting the Lady Hamaria tonight will go along way to ensuring that both her family and our organization can form a long-lasting alliance that will benefit all parties.” He glances at Hamaria, who nods once in agreement. “Hurry to Blakros Museum, friends. There isn’t much time!”

Game on! It's alway a bad sign when Drengle Drang calls you in the middle of the night. Still, you can roll K(history) and K(local)/Dip(GI) for some background info

Kraang, Fronar:

The wealthy and prominent House Blakros is a large, extended clan of eccentrics with trade contacts rivaling those of the Aspis Consortium, who made most of their money selling valuable antiquities across the border between Taldor and Qadira. Their daughters are known far and wide for their beauty, and marrying a Blakros woman is a sure path to power and riches.

DC 10 K(history):

In recent years, the Blakros Museum has been the site of a number of strange occurrences, many of which were handled quietly in the dead of night by agents of the Pathfinder Society.

DC 15 K(history):

In the early days of Absalom, the Blakros Museum was originally the stronghold of an eccentric wizard. Abandoned for centuries, it was later bought by House Blakros, who turned it into a museum for their impressive collection of curiosities from across Golarion.

DC 20 K(history):

The mad astrologer Ralzeros the Overwatched built what is now the Blakros Museum thousands of years ago as an observatory to study distant worlds and even other planes of existence (and some say, to be studied by them). He later disappeared following a mage-duel with another of Absalom’s early wizards.

We are not breaking the accord. We have delivered our daughters, and we will stay away until dawn too. That is why you are required: to interfere and save my daughters. Your focus should be on the twins, though any slaves you manage to save... would be most fortunate.

"They call me the Unmarried, because I'm the only girl of age that hasn't found a man strong enough to marry me yet... That's why I joined the Society, see! To meet... Passionate men, like yourself. I too, am new to being so close to another person! Except my father of course, he's the head of the Ogrefist clan. That's why he sent me to find a man, see! Well anyhow, enough about me, when do you think we can have the ceremony, teehee..?"

She follows her monologue with a nervous giggle and a shy smile.

"Oh but right, we have a mission, no? So we beat up some shadow criminals, get cash for waffle ingredients and then get married, no? Shouldn't be much of a problem, no?"

She ends by staring at Mareck in amazement and awe in silence, eager for anything he says.

Great pillars of hewn black stone support the vaulted ceiling of the Blakros Museum’s grand entryway, visible through its wide, double doors. Braziers mounted on the pillars cast white radiance from balls of continual light. A fossilized dinosaur skeleton occupies the northwest corner of the room.

Upon crossing the threshold, the air ripples and all visible surfaces shimmer as if they were momentarily composed of still, reflective liquid. As soon as the effect manifests, the strange sensation ends, leaving thick shadows covering all surfaces. The white light of the braziers glows an arcane shade of blue, illuminating the shadowy form of a different skeleton that overlays the more solid dinosaur from moments ago.

A shadowy plaque on the southeast column declares the Shadow Plane version of the building to be “Wightir House, Experimental Laboratory of Onyx Alliance, Authorized by Order of Argrinyxia, the Shifting Lady of Ebony Scales.”

Mareck:

The museum appears to be two places at once: one a museum on the material plane, the other a different building on the shadow plane, superimposed.

"Friends, we have entered the Shadow Plane, a co-terminus realm that overlays what we consider the Prime Material Plane," begins Mareq. He steps forward and looks more closely at the shadowy plaque.

Mareq becomes more and more agitated as the dark shadows spread out and cover the world before him. He grimaces in anger. No fear. Just more and more anger. And disgust.

"I must recall the Slayer of Childhood and Killer of Happiness yet again. After so recently sending him away, I must grind my teeth, spit upon the ground and swallow my hatred," he mutters in a low whisper to himself.

"<ptew!>" he spits upon the ground as he pulls forth a small, brass lamp with one hand. The other retrieves a large brass bowl from within his robes. He sets the bowl upon the floor and, magically, it is full of swirling water, dark and mysterious.

Perhaps Olga the Unmarried, interested in what the object of her recent affections is doing, notices the glow in Mareq's eyes of... happiness. Oddly, happiness, glee, dark and oily excitement...

Mareq, smiling, drops the lamp into the bowl, submerging it utterly. It hisses and pops as its heat is negated by the cold, black water. Steam rises and air bubbles escapes from the lamps funnel. More bubbles, and then less. And less. And then... no bubbles are left.

He chants in a strange language as the bubbles lessen.

Ignan:
"Come forth, my hated companion, killer of my childhood, destroyer of all that is wonderful and good. Return to serve me yet again, that I might find joy at last... in orchestrating your death again and again and again. Return and serve, Husarq al-Shamir, destitute and degraded former bey of the City of Brass. My father."

Suddenly the water in the bowl cascades upwards as Mareq's banished efreeti servant explodes into existence from the bowl and lamp. He falls immediately to the floor choking and coughing, spewing water from his mouth, his horns dripping.

"What took you so long, slave?" says Mareq evilly, crouching down to put his cruelly leering face close to the efreeti's.

M Efreeti Lord of All He Surveys 10 (HP 79/85; AC 33 / T 11 / FF 31 ; F +11, R +6, W +8; Init +2, Perception +11, Darkvision 60') [dice=Power Attack]1d20+19[/dice] [dice=Slashing dmg]3d6+26[/dice] [dice=Fire dmg]1d6[/dice]

Husarq rolls over and gets to his feet, water dripping everywhere, snot and bile flowing down his face from his nose and mouth. He gags and coughs and stands to attention before Mareq, the thrall's collar about his neck shining a sick red.

"Master of My Fate and Life, I salute you. You have found yet another innovative way of summoning me forth from the happy and wonderful abode you have given me, unworthy though I am. I had not considered the uses of the marid's water bowl from the Sanctum of the Sages in far Osirion. Now I know."

The big efreeti straightens and pulls his greatsword from the sheath on his back, its edge glistening. But only briefly. Each gleam of light runs like water (is it water?) down the blade's edge, coalesces into a drip and plummets to the floor of the Shadow museum. By the time it reaches the flow and splashes, it is an inky blotch, corrupted light now shadow and pain and dismay. The blade, once shining, is now nearly invisible in the shadows of the room.

Husarq swings his sword, flexes his substantial muscles, and says "I am ready to serve, Oh Great One."

"Foul One, hold still, while I ensure your death is a slow one!" cries Mareq to his efreeti servant. The ifrit pulls forth a bone white wand from his robes. It actually appears to be thin shaft of bone, with odd silver glowing runes on it. If somebody were to look closely, the sigils would appear to move, swirling about the wand's shaft.

Mareq turns to Husarq and turns the wand point outwards, holding it like a dagger. Without waiting, the red-haired pathfinder STABS Husarq in the face with the wand! The runes swirl swirl swirl about, as if they were bits of paper, caught in a whirlpool of water, draining down the wand and into the bleeding wound on the efreeti's face. Soon, all the runes are gone, seemingly sucked into the efreeti's face. The blood disappears and all that is left is a small silver dot upon his cheek, the remnant of the magical sigils.

"There! Your survival is not ensured, but only extended. You cannot die so fast this time, Dung Face!"

DM, would you update the map? I'm not sure exactly where to position Kelsier for flanking, or how many Acrobatics rolls he'll need to make to get there, if any at all. I'm going to post the gist of my action anyway.

Kelsier delays for a moment to see if any of his companions have a helpful spell to cast, then he makes his way around to stand on the other side of the dinosaur, drawing his double-blade as he goes. Once in position, he swings one end of the blade at the dinosaur. Unfortunately his swing goes wide.

OOC/Crunch:
Not sure if any Blesses or the like are about to come out this round. Kelsier is not completely green, and he has patience, so he'll wait to see if someone does something like that first.

Double Sword, two-handed, attack, flanking: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 = 11
Double Sword, two-handed, damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7

M Efreeti Lord of All He Surveys 10 (HP 79/85; AC 33 / T 11 / FF 31 ; F +11, R +6, W +8; Init +2, Perception +11, Darkvision 60') [dice=Power Attack]1d20+19[/dice] [dice=Slashing dmg]3d6+26[/dice] [dice=Fire dmg]1d6[/dice]

Husarq drops his greatsword near Mareq and steps to within five feet of the creature, attempting to flank with Olga, and uses his clawed hands to bludgeon the dinosaur.

Power Attack Claw w/ Flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 3 + 2 = 16 Claw Dmg: 1d4 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Power Attack Claw w/ Flank: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 3 + 2 = 10 Claw Dmg: 1d4 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Odd, but true, Claw attacks do Slashing/Bludgeoning damage. So, thought they'd be a better way to attack a skeleton.

Kelsier, if you would like, you can move to set up flank for me and then ready to make the attack when I move. Since it seems Husarq is flanking with Olga. This is why I delayed until after dino acted... so I could move to flank.

I'm not able to view map at the moment (work firewall blocks), but as soon as I can check it, I will be posting my turn.

Olga readies to stomp the skeleton with her head after taking a 5-foot step to the north-east, trying to create a flanking opportunity:

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 4 + 2 = 11
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

But her helmet sags off during the attack, making it inert.

I updated the map to reflect what it looked to me like the other PCs were describing.

Moves:
Olga 5' NE
Husarq 5' N
Kelsier 5' NE, 5' N, 5' NW

All set for Fronar to 5' NE and trigger Kelsier's readied (missed) attack and get a flanking bonus

Olga tries to head-butt the skeletal dino, but misses. Kelsier moves in to flank with Husarq; both the Fighter and the Thrall miss their marks.

Thanks for moving the icons - I was on a flaky train internet connection earlier

Husarq is actually flanking with Olga. Kelsier will be flanking with Fronar once he steps up.

Kraang! raises his arms into an arc over his head with one hand holding on his his quarter staff. He slowly enlarges and by the time his hands have reached their pinnicle, the druid has doubled in size. Double fitting his quarterstaff, Kraang! crashes the cungle down upon the skeletal dino.

If Kelsier was able to set me up for only a 5' step to get flanking. Please move me. Thank you.

Ajah steps back and draws her Longbow. She sets a blunt-tipped arrow to the string. She sings a short burst of wordless song and there is a glint of magic that flashes down the shaft of the arrow as she releases it.

Move to draw bow, 5 ft back, swift to use Arcane Strike, shoot with Point Blank shot.

Karen steps up to complete the flank with Kelsier, but doesn't manage to hit the bony creature. Ahah shoots from further away, and the arrow just passes between the creature's ribs. Forfar hits the creature with a cacti, and chips off a slight bit of bone, while his second strike misses.
