Seelah continues to clash blades with the berserker, concentrating on keeping her at bay while Valeros and Zadim deal with her companions.

Valeros kills the kellid warrior previously wounded by Zadim. He then steps near the kellid's companion and delievers a savage swipe with his shortsword, almost cutting the man's throat. Quickly considering his options the Kellid decides running for his life seems the best option he has, given the circumstances.
Meanwhile Seelah keeps exchanging ineffective blows with the enraged kellid woman and Kyra uses her magic to boost her friends' accuracy.

Valeros:
A shortsword's critical multiplier is x2 IIRC, which means you cause 2d6+6 dmg, not 3d6+3. No biggie anyway though, in either case the Kellid warrior runs away

With the other kellids fallen or fleeing, Zadim circles around behind the raging warrior woman lashes out with his sharp blade.

Zadim gets behind the huge woman and wounds her:"Ah! Do you think that will be enough to best me!?!? Think again you bug!" she says, then she discovers she's now alone:"Come back you craven son of a jackal!" the now surrounded Kellid woman yells at her fleeing companion.
"No matter I will deal with you looters myself if need be!" she exclaims raising her huge blade into the air and then towards Zadim...

Zadim pales slightly as the ground shatters beside him. He slips around to flank with Seelah as the raging kellid woman draws her blade back, and he tries to score another wound before she can land a blow on himself or any of his allies.

Working together you are able to surround and subdue the kellid rager. The woman goes down fighting but with her down and her comrades dead or fled you see your chance to leave Numeria behind you before more of the barbarians show up.

Once safely back into the River Kingdoms you learn that the silver bracelet dampens the kinetic energy of any objects moving toward the wearer, a good defense although limited in use.

Silver Bracelet:
Mechanically, the item grants the wearer 15 temporary hit points, but due to damage the bracelet sustained, there is no way to recharge these temporary hit points. Further, after maintaining this field for 24 hours, the bracelet permanently runs out of energy.

After reading Ulisha’s journal next except you move to Daggermark, the River's Kingdoms' biggest city which Ulisha uses as a starting point to find the spider’s nest. You try to recall what you know about the place and about your quarry...
Seems like this will be a 2 part mission: first you'll have to locate the spiders' nests and of course relieve them of the precious components Ulisha's craves. Then you'll have to get back to Daggermark and find the client Ulisha contacted in order to sell the merchandise. What could go wrong?

DC10 Knowledge (local):
Daggermark is one of the River Kingdoms. It is an exercise in anarchy, as anyone can hire assassins at affordable rates.

DC15 Knowledge (local):
These hires come from an Assassins’ Guild, which has found a particularly deadly partner in a Poisoners’ Guild that also operates out of Daggermark.

DC20 Knowledge (local):
Because anyone can hire an assassin, everyone in Daggermark tends to be overly polite. Most leaders don’t last very long, as anyone taking exception to their policies can hire deadly force rather easily.

DC25 Knowledge (local):
You know enough about the day-to-day politics of Daggermark to receive a +2 circumstance bonus on checks to find another merchant.

DC11 Knowledge (nature):
Giant spiders are known for their venom, which is known to weaken their prey.

DC16 Knowledge (nature):
Spider webs contain a strong adhesive that is used as a stabilizer in volatile poisons. This adhesive is most valuable when it is fresh; the silk glands of a freshly killed spider are the best source.

DC21 Knowledge (nature):
You know exactly where the silk glands are located. This provides a +2 bonus on any check to harvest the glands.

Thanks to Ulisha's map you are quickly able to locate a small clearing in the Shroudwood to Daggermark's southeast.
The webs are thicker in this clearing than they have been thus far, appearing newer and white, rather than the dingy gray of those seen earlier. These webs crisscross the canopy above, most strands meeting near the center to support a large globe of webbing the size of a large pumpkin.

Kyra moves to join the melee-types at the front, stopping part way when she sees a clear line. She uses her sling, and throws a bullet at the spider she has a clear shot at.

Valeros closes in on the spiders. Seelah slashes one of the horrid creatures severing a couple of hairy legs and causing it to sprout ichor all around. Kyra shoots at another spider with her sling and hits her target. Together the heroine fell the beast! Zadim still waits to do his move...

I'd say given Kyra's positioning Seelah does not provide soft cover to the spider. Zadim delays

The remaining spider attacks Zadim...

Together you make short work of the second spider and are left with the unenviable task of harvesting the webbing you need to sell in Daggermark.
Luckily the central orb of web is a newly laid egg sack. The eggs are worthless in Daggermark, but the webbing holding the sack is covered in fresh adhesive. The other possible source of adesive lays within the poor spiders you just slaughtered but the process of extracting it will be more complex.

Harvesting the silk glands requires a successfull DC15 Heal or Survival check, you can attempt one for each spider but failing ruins the gland rendering it useless. Obviously the more adesive you gather, the better

Once you are done with the pleasant job of harvesting spider silk glands you get back to Daggermark. You need to find a buyer for the stuff: Ulisha seemed to have misgivings about the merchant she contacted, one Johannes Vox. You may go to him anyway or search for someone else in the business of creating poisons. Not a terribly difficult task in a city like Daggermark...
