DM Elan Morin |
@Valeros: As I wrote above this is going to be an extremely simple fight. No need for a map unless you want one. There's 1 guard and Folloch. The guard is inside 8 squares, Folloch is hiding behind him at 10 squares. Kyra has cast beless. Your move
Blake's Iconic |
I'm about to be incommunocato for a few hours, so I'll post now. Double move.
Zadim moves around the guard's reach to threaten Folloch. "Is this all about petty theft, false priest?"
DM Elan Morin |
"Everything is done to further the glory of Razmir!" the priests shouts back at Zadim while checking his moves warily.
In other words, "Yes"
The enthralled guards advances on Valeros and swings at him
Attack roll (guard vs Valeros): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 -> Damage roll: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
but hiss clumsy attack goes wide by a large margin.

Seelah advances around the guard. Folloch, if you had the slightest conviction in the righteousness of your cause, you would not need to enthrall them so. I offer you one chance to prove yourself.
She unsheathes her blade. Stand against me if you dare.
Double Moving then Smiting Folloch
DM Elan Morin |
Folloch, looking positively terrified, steps away from Seelah and starts whispering something at the Paladin:"We are all friends here! Why do you want to hurt me? Please, good woman, defend me from these brutes!"
Seelah needs to pass a DC14 will save or be charmed

Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |
Kyra moves forward, scimitar in hand, to confront the false priest.
"You're magic can only be as strong as your faith." She says, as she takes a swipe at the man, hoping to keep him from casting more spells.
Distances and such still puzzle me with no map. If she can reach Folloch in a move (plus her steps from the previous round) then she will attack him... else just move up and threaten him.
melee vs Folloch: 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 2 + 1 = 23, for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 damage.
Edit:
confirm: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7, for 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 damage plus 2 fire damage.
DM Elan Morin |
Folloch squeals in fear as Seelah resists his spell and Kyra slashes at him, causing the razmirran to lose blood.
As for the guard, Valeros hits the charmed man hard with the flat of his blade causing him to stumble, visibly rattled by the powerful blow.

Valeros downs the guard for good while Zadim wounds the Razmirran again.
While clearly desperate now, once again Folloch steps away from the pathfinders and tries to cast his magic on them...
Kyra and Zadim, roll will or fall asleep. Folloch is near enough to Valeros and Seelah to reach himand attack if they want.

Zadim resists the drowsy sensation and follows Folloch.
Kukri: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
S: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
DM Elan Morin |
The Razmirran tries to fend off your combined assault but it proves a futile effort as you esily finish him putting an end to his tyrannical rule.
The wand Folloch was trying to use against you proves to be a simple iron road in appearance and once back to his senses the guard tanks you profusely for breaking the spell holding him captive.
With Folloch defeated the people of Allenstead quickly regain their senses. While some still suffer from moments of amnesia, all are grateful for what you did for them. As a parting gift, they give you 300 gold for your assistance and allow you to take what you want from the defeated Razmiri priest.
This concludes part 3. Tomorrow we'll start part 4. Too tired to do it now, sorry
DM Elan Morin |
After a couple of days of rest in Allenstead you move back to Garlton. There you receive another notebook entry from Ulisha.
Accompanying her notebook entry, Ulisha filled the next several pages with crude maps, complex equations, and further notes. She apparently returned to the Pathfinder’s cave mentioned in her previous entry. By observing the angle of the ridgeline and her current position, she was able to calculate the crash site’s probable location. The last page on the matter includes a detailed map into Numeria with various landmarks and a destination. An addendum written in recent ink warns, “Tread lightly. Numeria remains a mystery to the rest of the world. Those who stay too long draw unwanted attention.”
Blake's Iconic |
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
"We will need to keep our eyes open, though," Zadim cautions. "The local Kellid tribes routinely scavenge the crash sites in Numeria."

Diplomacy: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
At least there can be little doubt as to the appropriateness of this portion of the quest.
DM Elan Morin |
The trees become sparse as you climb into the Numerian foothills. A series of switchbacks rises to a low summit. The view is phenomenal at the crest of this hill, where Ulisha’s map indicates a crash site. Vast plains extend to the north, where clouds gather on the horizon. To the south, the Sellen River cuts a definitive border between the River Kingdoms and Numeria.
Knowledge (nature) or Perception check, map updated
Blake's Iconic |
Zadim scans the view from the crest of the hill.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
DM Elan Morin |
Kyra and Zadim keen senses allow them to notice that the soil along the slope of the hill is looser than it should be, as if a recent rockslide had covered it.
It only takes a few minutes of digging to uncover a solid metal surface buried below. The partially hidden object is ovoid, just over 10 feet in length and 5 feet in diameter at its widest point. The metal is strange and unfamiliar,
Roll Knowledge (nature)
Yet the entire wreck appears to be relatively undamaged. Its surface is scratched and dented but unbroken, and a 3-by-5-foot section of the side appears as though it could be opened on a hinge.

Seelah adds her efforts to Valeros's, but has difficulty with the smooth surface.

Valeros and Seelah try to pry open the strange metal wreckage but despite their efforts the door handle doesn't give way. Perhaps the deed might be accomplished with Kyra and Zadim's help...
Kyra, Flame of the Dawnflower |
Couldn't someone just take a 20, and see if that works? =)
Kyra watches Seelah and Valeros attempt to open the strange metalic pod with a slight frown on her face.
"No, you need to push it that way..." She offers, unhelpfully. "... maybe the other side? ..."
Eventually, she steps in to help, realizing that more bodies are needed, not micro-managing.
Strength Check, aid: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
DM Elan Morin |
Thanks to Kyra and especially Zadim the strange metal door gives way and allows the 4 adventurers to check its contents out. The inside of the wreck is cramped. A single chair made out of the same strange metal faces the hatch, dozens of straps hang inside the device, and an array of levers and buttons lines the interior on one side. Several dozen palm-sized metallic discs and an unadorned silvery bracer lie scattered across the interior.
Roll Appraise or Knowledge (engineering or local) to identify the strange disks. Roll Knowledge (engineering) to identify the properties of the Silver Bracelet. Other than that let me know what you want to do with the wreck contents.
Cwethan's Iconic |
Appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Seelah looks on the contents of the wreck with confusion. I have no sense of what is valuable, but we should be able to carry the discs and bracer to those more learned in these matters at the least.
Iconic Otha |
Sorry, GM, don't really utilize those skills so didn't think it'd be of much help...guess I'll try Appraise...
Valeros looks over the strange disks...
Appraise: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
"Hmmm...these disks look...strange..."
DM Elan Morin |
Kyra recognizes the silver disks as Numerian “silverdisks,” a form of currency. There are 35 in the pod, each worth 10 gp.
Since you need a DC 18 check to identify the bracelet I'd say we can move on.
Once you aree sure there's nothing else of value you can plunder "salvage" from the wreckage you start your descent but after a few minutes your way is blocked by 3 Kellid barbarians. A woman and 2 men.
“Stop there,” demands the Kellid woman who hefts a massive blade.
“You’re are not from here, and those things are not yours. Give us the silverdisks, all the gold you have, and anything else you found there. Then you may live.”
Cwethan's Iconic |
If we have trespassed, I apologize, but if as I suspect you are merely putting a veneer over your brigandry, she unsheathes her sword, you will be denied.
DM Elan Morin |
"You brought this upon yourselves, trepassers!" says the woman leading the war party, her words resounding of finality as she speaks them.
