GM Carla |
As you are slowed down, you can literally feel the dinosaur's breath upon your head. Around you are screaming aspis, and every couple of moments you lose sight of eachother. The thundering shake of its footsteps rattle your bones, and the panic is overwhelming. You know that if you can't shake it now, you will lose this breakneck race.
Sharimus Dallanos |
Sharimus whirls about and in one fluid motion stabs his blade at one of the Aspis agents, trying to throw them and the huge lizard off the party's tail.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 101d6 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Lynn Kuro |
Lynn would say a quick uplifting phrase. "For righteous glory we fight today. In name of land and valor we will not lose!"
Insp.Courage 6/9
Maanyatha |
Perhaps the egg bearers should run ahead while the rest of us run interference? suggests the nagaji attempting to catch her breath.
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
Running close to the group of Aspis members, Gunther grabs the end of his spear while running, whirling it above his head in a large arc, more intent of warding them off and distracting them than actually attacking to inflict any wounds, and it seems that luck holds, as he doesn't even get close.
Attack (with Insp. Courage): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Lynn Kuro |
Carla if you'd allow me one more spell use in this turn would I be able to cast my last Chord of shards or maybe even an animate rope to trip up the aspis members? I know i've already used an action for this event but i figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.
Lynn Kuro |
Alright three crazy plans, that i want to pitch to the group.
A) Ghost sound+ disguise/sing to imitate a baby t-rex and maybe buy us precious time.
B) Chord of shards at the Aspis agents to slow them down
C) One member chugs the potion of hide from animal, while the others use the tree token(s){if it doesn't count as Gunther using one last challenge since there was no response to it} to slow both the t-rex and the aspis. We might even lose someone in the process but i'm willing to spend some fame to rez people if need be this is a good group.
Plan C almost guarantees that at least one of us will survive.
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
I'm fine for any. I know that there where more than one Tree Token, and I'm not sure if DM C. noticed it last round or not.
Lynn Kuro |
Before i begin let us pray to RNGesus.. *bows head* 11010011010010... amen.
Lynn finding her song a bit ineffective would try another risky tactic the giant dinosaur was after it's young and she had heard plenty of tiny reptilian creatures and young babies to know what a good impression may be. But where her skills up to the test.
Lynn first threw up a free hand towards one of the aspis agents. Casting her spell upon the poor fellow. Using her mastery over illusion, she would create a ghost sound of what she believed would be a newly hatched version of this ferocious creature centered on one of the aspis agents. It was a cry of help, distress, anything that would draw the beasts attention to the Aspis instead of her friends.
This being the last of her spell power her 'fake' human form began to fade shortly after leaving her running with both of her tails flicking wildly behind her.
Cast Ghost Sound my disguise/sing have the same bonus so which ever skill makes the most sense, likely disguise. Also going to use a charge of my Pathfinder's Excellence(Skill) boon to roll twice, taking highest, and also gain a bonus of half my level(+1) since it's being used directly against members of the aspis consortium and those under their employ.
disguise/sing: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 1 = 12
disguise/sing: 1d20 + 8 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 8 + 1 = 22
Lilia Sori |
While running Lilia draws her short sword and tries to stab the Aspis agent running next to her.
Short Sword, IC: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 = 19
She misses and lets out a variety of curses in several tongues.
GM Carla |
As a wail echoes through the canopy, you suddenly realise the thunderous footsteps have stopped. Around you people are still screaming and running for their lives, but when you glance back over your shoulder, you see and odd scene: the dinosaur is sniffing a young aspis woman, the woman being perplexed and white as a feather. The wails seem to emerge from the woman. After two seconds, the dinosaur lifts her head and a terrifying howl roars through the forest.
You dare not look at the woman again, but a softer, more human shriek follows. Within moments the rythmical thundering of footsteps resumes and the shouting around you intensifies. The cliff top is just ahead!
Lynn Kuro |
Lynn made her way up slowly burdened by the Hefty egg seeing Sharimus grab rock she thought the same, though instead of large rocks she grabbed smaller palm sized ones and tried to aim for the beasts eyes.
dex: 1d20 + 3 - 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 - 3 = 9
not sure if base dex checks are with ACP so i put it anyway.
Lilia Sori |
Dexterity: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Lilia grabs a stone the size of her head, spins a couple of circles, and hurls the stone at the dinosaur. "Take this, you overfed lizard!"
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
As the other begin to take potshots at the beast, Gunther tries to make his way up, but just can't seem to find any good handholds.
Climb: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
GM Carla |
As Lilia drops a sharp rock right between the eyes of the giant lizard, a sharp wheezy sound emerges from its throat. It shakes its massive head, then runs off into the jungle, two more aspis between its teeth.
Only 1 egg broken!
At the outskirts of the Krihirik village, grippli possessions lie scattered about as if they were dropped or tossed carelessly from the dwellings above. Where before gripplis hurried about the village, now none are to be found. Shouting from the direction of the elders’ hut carries through the empty jungle —“Find the others!”— followed by the loud crash of something falling to the jungle floor.

Surprise round! Only Sharimus notices something black and fanged sneaking through the bushes at the base of the tree, as well as the soft sound of footsteps on wood in the middle tree house. Two guards are standing on the 20ft high rope bridges, as of yet unaware of you. The walkways to the east and west slope upward, allowing access to the tree houses.

I have llv as well as 2 perhaps 3 i don't remember if i've used em casts of dancing lights.
Lynn Kuro |
If we need dancing lights then I will but i think that would hinder our chances at stealth.
Gunther Tamiir-Quah |
Gunther begins to grow larger, giving into his anger as what he thinks some monstrous bastard has done, and remembering the implication that the Aspis Consortium had been hounding the missing Venture Captain Sharrowsmith, shouts out to whomever is speaking above, "What have you done!"
I'm actually using this spell this time, so it is a Full Round action rather than a swift. I'll also take a bit of a step away from the party incase anyone wants to try to remain hidden.
Lilia Sori |
Lilia moves forward while grabbing her bow. She drops her backpack next to a tree and nocks an arrow, which she shoots at the nearest thug.
Shortbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18 Damage, SA: 1d6 + 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + (5, 6) + 1 = 18

She will move up, take aim and fire
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14 take aim and shoot at the guy near the elf
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9 I think it was a mighty bow.
Lynn Kuro |
I'll wait till the enemies act to make a post so i know the whole situation.
GM Carla |
From inside the central treehouse emerges a man, who, at the sight of overwhelming odds, moves straight back in again. Spellcasting can be heard once more, after which a voice shouts:
"I've got a hostage! This ugly old toad will die if you come closer!"
At the same time, the black cat from earlier vanishes in the undergrowth.
The guard left standing gives an awkward look to the central treehouse, before firing his bow at Sharimus and fleeing into the west treehouse, missing.

Oh sorry i was looking at the highlighted names thinking they still had to go, that's why i was confused on the rounds. Also i just realized ghost sound is a level zero spell so i've still got level 1's!
Lynn looked over towards the central treehouse, remembering how the others were able to climb up. She moved forward tentatively.
"Wait wait please, just tell us what you want I'm sure we can negotiate our terms."
She slipped a small vial to Lilia and whispered low, "Think you can climb up and give em a nasty surprise?" The vial she handed Lilia was indeed the invisibility tonic from earlier.
slight of hand: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
"Just let's talk about this no one else needs to get hurt."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Lilia Sori |
Lilia grins as Lynn passes her the vial. "Sure I can."
She drinks the potion, turns invisible, and moves to the northern entrance.
