[PFS/CtP] #6–12: Scions of the Sky Key, Part 1: On Sharrowsmith's Trail (Inactive)

Game Master Carla the Profane

Maps and Handouts

Silver Crusade

Recruiting for the whole three-parter-shebang (low tier). I have two players from an older campaign joining in.

If you want to apply please add the following:

  • Have you GMed the scenario before?
  • Class/Shtick
  • Ability to post at least once/two days?
  • An example in-character post

  • Shadow Lodge

I'd be interested in joining. I am currently deployed, so up front there may be times when I can not post as much as I'd like, but so far this has not been a problem.

I have run all three parts (twice), but I do not have an issue sitting back and leaving the decision making and discovery to others.

I tend to play Divine characters, so most likely bringing a Cleric of some sort. I'll need to actually take a look and see what I have open and in tier.

For the most part, posting should not be an issue. That being said, because I am deployed, internet is not great, and there may be unforeseen times where I simply can not.

Link to a post from Eyes of the Ten where we were asked to describe one of our most beloved or memorable moments within the Pathfinder Society (scenario).

Here is another, from the same game as a eulogy to the Shadow Lodge.

Here is a third from a different character and game.

    Silver Crusade

Ok, so it turns out the only character I do have open and in tier is the one I assigned credit for running Scions of the Sky Key to. So, if you are interested, I can bring this guy in as a new character.

His shtick is partially between battlefield control and minor party buffs and healing. I have not played this one before, but the idea is to get up close quickly and then prevent enemies from moving past me easily.

More likely than not most of my attacks will come from AoOs, while I cast spells. I can also spontaneously cast Summon Monster Spells (and Cures), but, until higher level (and Sacred Summoning) it's really not worth it in most cases (as you do not threaten with Full Round castings, negating my reach).

Hopefully he can also bring a little bit of skills to the game.

I will like to add that Gm carla is a excellent Gm.

I was going to apply with my Level 2 Arcanist (occultist) but maybe two summoning-focused characters in one game would be a little much. What do you think?

Gunther wrote that his summon spells aren't really worth it, so I doubt he'll use them often.

I don't mind! If so, I believe we'll have a legal table. I'm aiming for 5 people at the moment.

I'd be interested in playing. Have played a lot of PFS but not yet PbP. I can certainly do 1 post/2 days.
Given that I have no 1-2 right now, I'd be making a new one -- and would be free to re-spec after playing the arc. So are there any preferences?

I was leaning towards a defensive/support fighter. Is there a particular pressing need?

    Silver Crusade

Here's the character I have in mind.
Never fear, my comrades! By Iomedae's grace we shall prevail!
Uses Iomedae's Inspiring Sword as a full-round action to give all allies within 30' a +2 sacred bonus to attacks, saves, and skill checks.

    Grand Lodge

Would love to be a part of this with this guy. Half-Orc Barbarian, unless you feel we are a little too martial based and I can figure something else out. This guy is very blunt, but very loyal to those who are willing to put their trust in him.

    Grand Lodge

I'm interested...what are the 2 friends you have coming already have? just so there is no extra overlapping.

    Dark Archive

If you still have a space, I have a third level brawler who would be interested. I also have some higher level types who could do it, but they might overshadow the level 2s a bit much. Alternatively if the group is light on healing I have 4th level oracle of life available. He's a dedicated healer and singer. Diplomacy is his thing not combat.

A large hulking man from Tien nods to the venture captain.

"I am being very interested in seeing what is happening in Mwagi"

Fair notice, I have GMed this series myself, but can happily keep secrets.

    Liberty's Edge

It looking like you're full but I'd like to throw my hat in.

    1. I've never played or DM'd this series.
    2. I'd be bringing a level 2 support cleric.
    3. I can post at least once per day without a problem.
    4.

    Example Post:
Shadow surveys the area with a sideways glance and shakes his staff as if to ward off evil. "This place be trouble mon. Keep ya hands on ya weapons if you're not in a hurry to visit the Boneyard."

Casting detect magic and scanning the area.

    If it comes up:

    Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
    Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
    Spellcraft: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19

    Grand Lodge

I thought i edited in the info you asked...didnt take i reckon...

    1. No
    2. I can bring in whatever is needed..I have a lvl 1 swashbuckler prepared atm....
    3. Yes
    4. Grimdog looks around the area, checking for traps near the chest.

    perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25

    One second...I haven't cleared this yet...I shan't be but a moment...perhaps two if it's difficult..

    Silver Crusade

Aaand we're full! If you haven't gotten a PM from me then alas. Thank you or showing interests folks!

    Grand Lodge

I decided to go with this character instead, as I noticed this series advances the Grand Lodge plotline.

    1) Never played or GM'd
    2) level 1.2 Halfling hunter with boar animal companion.
    3) Yes
    4) "My name? I know, it's elvish. It's from my father -- not my birth father, but my father by adoption. See, when I was a babe, my parents were traveling in a caravan from Korvosa to Riddleport, when a band of hobgoblins attacked them. They killed all the adults, and were going to take me alive, probably to be a slave, when Folmar -- Folmar Ar Feiniel, my adoptive father -- came upon them." She pauses to drink from her teacup. "He used his strong druidic powers to destroy them, then took me to his home. Though he was very old, even for an elf, he raised me and taught me the ways of the green, the moon, and the woods. When he passed, 20 years after he found me, his last words were for me to find my place in the world."

"The pig? I found him in a goblin camp. Some humans came in and killed the gobs, and he was hiding under one of their huts. I found him with a collar on that said, 'Squealy Nord', so I guess that's what they called him. Funny, that goblins would be so sentimental as to give a pig a name. Still, he's a good fellow, strong and loyal, and he's been growing like a weed ever since I infused him with the power of nature, like Father taught me. He'll be a terror someday, I'm sure of it."

Ah. Too bad then. I'll try again another time.

"Content in “On Sharrowsmith’s Trail” also contributes directly to the ongoing storylines of the Exchange faction."

In my opinion they are not, except for a few odd utility things. Being level 1, and due to my archetype, I'm a bit more restricted than most that can use Summon Monster. I also try to focus on trying to prevent others from getting by me via Attacks of Opportunity, and casting Full Rounds spells means I do not threaten he entire time. At higher levels, it changes a little, but honestly I'm mostly looking forward to summoning Lantern Archon buddies as extra healers.

So by all means, feel free to summon. I was just wanting to point out that I can utilize Summon Monster Spells spontaneously.

    DM:
Also, as I have run this, I have absolutely no issue stepping aside to let others play it.
