dot. I just finished an adventure with him and need to update gold and things like that.
GM V |
You remember as though it was yesterday when venture captain Drendle Dreng had you awoken in the middle of the night to give you an important mission. "Pathfinders, we have been given an opportunity to participate in a ceremony in the town of Kassen. Every year they have a ceremony to remember their towns hero and namesake. You will travel to Kassen and be the ones to take the everflame to the crypt that where he lies. Now this is a completely ceremonial task, you will be there to strengthen ties with the town. As this is all a theatrical event expect 'challenges' to be set up by the towns folk, as they do every year for the young people that normally go on this adventure. Now leave will all haste as the festival starts soon!" That was 2 weeks ago. You arrived in Kassen the day before the festival and spent the night not you wake up in the morning ready to go.
The bells atop the Temple of Erastil toll their midday song, echoing throughout the quiet town of Kassen. As the peals begin to fade, the first of the townsfolk make their way into the square, dressed in black, as if attending a funeral. They slowly fill the square, moving quietly across the cold, hard ground, their eyes downcast and mournful. A!er a few moments, a murmur passes through the crowd as it slowly parts to let Mayor Uptal through. He leads the way with a tarnished silver lantern. Behind him, an old pony drags a cart laden with backpacks and supplies.
Once he reaches the center of the crowd, Mayor Uptal stops and calls out to the assembled townsfolk. “Once again the winter winds blow through the Fangwood, marking the end of another harvest. There are wolves in the woods, howling at our walls, and serpents in our shadows, waiting to strike. Just as it was one hundred and seventy-four years ago, when Kassen himself left these walls to protect us, so it is today. Where are the heroes? Where are the brave folk that will venture out to Kassen’s tomb and retrieve the flame to keep this community safe for another winter?”
If someone wants to say something or you can all step forward.
E'li |
I am E'li, servant of Rowdrowsh, emperual lord of shepherds and those who care for flocks. Wolves are my enemy when they attack the flock. I am here to lend my sling to your cause, if needed. With the blessing of Rowdrosh, this flock will be taken care of. says the young warpriest.
Lilianna Thraller |
Dressed in several loose layers of blue and gold cloth, a woman with skin bronzed from the Osirion sun steps up proudly.
"I am Lilianna, herald of the Dawnflower. Her light shall show us the way so we may return with your flame."
I hope this ceremony isn't too long, this cold is getting to me. Why can't I ever be sent somewhere warm?
Things in italics are her thoughts btw
Yulai Chankotou |
A handsome male with brilliant blue eyes dressed in exceptional silken ceremonial armor over his Artisan's outfit. Steps forward,
"I am Yulai Chankotou, bard extraordinaire. I shall assist the people."
E'li |
\ Perhaps we could work together? suggests the war priest as several people volunteer.
GM V |
The mayor once again speaks to the townsfolk. “I present to you the brave heroes who will follow in Kassen’s footsteps to retrieve the Everflame! Some of them may not return, but I say to you that their sacrifice shall not be forgotten. Go, brave heroes, and do not return until you have the eternal fire.” With that, the mayor points to the south, the direction of Kassen’s tomb. The townsfolk begin waving goodbye with cold, solemn looks on most of their faces.
As you are walking out of town you hear kids telling stories of all the things that go on with the quest.
Also you can make sense motives if you want.
Lilianna Thraller |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Lilianna tries to listen to what the kids are saying as the team walks out of the town.
They may just be kids, but any idea about what we may face could prove useful...
GM V |
While all the adults are serious and somewhat dour Lilianna knows its all a front and they aren't really worried at all. She also overhears some talk about the 'usual surprises' and laughter about past experiences when the towns folk went. The day passes uneventfully as you walk along the road. As evening comes you find the campsite marked on your map and begin to set up camp.
Give me some perception checks and will you be doing anything special as you settle in?
Lilianna Thraller |
Lilanna tries to conceal a small smile as she hears the children laugh and a sense of calm washes over her as she sees through the townsfolk's front.
They were getting me a little worried there for a second... I wonder what "usual" tricks they have in store for us!
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Once camp is set up, Lilianna will begin evening prayers to bid the sun goodbye. She will extend an invitation for her party members to join her and then lead prayer for 10 minutes.
At the conclusion of prayer, she will pursue typical mundane tasks like dinner, making her bed, etc.
"Should we set up a rotating watch? If so, I would prefer the watch that will end with the rising of the sun."
E'li |
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19 Percetption
I suggest those who have divine or other types of magic either take the1st or the last watch.
Yulai Chankotou |
"I'll do first watch with E'li.".
Yulai unfurls his bedroll. And takes up a spot on the other side of the camp from E'li to give a wider area of awareness.
Lilianna Thraller |
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Edit: We are really good at this XD
GM V |
Sorry looks like my post got eaten.
Stuff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
As Illia sits on watch, just as the sun is starting to brush the horizon, 2 wolves burst from the underbrush, drool running from their mouths!
Illia: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Slade: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Rolandor: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Lilianna: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 1 = 14
E'li: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Yulai: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
BG: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Just a reminder Illia is the only one awake and geared up. So when your turn comes round give me a perception to see if you wake up.
Lilianna Thraller |
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
If that is enough to wake Lilianna, she will call out to her companions as she rises. If I am correct in thinking that I'm still using yesterday's spells, Lilianna will cast Bless on the party. If it will count towards today's spells, she will cast Guidance on Illia.
If it is not enough to wake Lilianna, she continues to snore softly.
Illia Nym |
Illia rises, a smile on her face Everyone get up, we have visitors! she shouts, one hand on her blade the other aimed at another wolf. she fires an blast purplish energy.
Using eldritch blast as a standard action, it's a ranged touch attack. due to my curse i can only take 1 action during the first round
ranged touch: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15
Force damage: 8 = 8
GM V |
Illia hit one wolf and it attacks her! The other dives into Tent: 1d3 ⇒ 2 Eli's tent and attack the sleeping man!
Attack Illia: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Attack Eli Prone and asleep: 1d20 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 + 2 = 18
Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
The DC to wake up once combat begins is 5 before combat is their stealth score of 25. So after Illia acts you need a 5 as she casts a spell. Also keep in mind you sleeping and laying down.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Having slept through Illia's intial warning, the sounds of battle starts to rouse him.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
He stands and starts humoring his party, inspiring them to do better.
"There was a pathfinder team.
Needing to recharger their steam.
They didn't sleep
To deep
To win knock the baddies with their metal beams."
Inspire Courage activated: +1 vs Charm and Fear effects, +1 for attack and damage rolls.
