please remember that most of these mods are not designed, so the hooks will be mostly fabricated. I will supply your PC's with enough information hopefully to allow you to successfully complete each mod :) No, with no further wait...onto the crypt!
You six fresh members out of the academy, are called into the Society Office in Absalom. The VC comes in to address the lot of you.
Welcome to the main office here in Absolom. I know that you all are new, so I will keep your first mission simple. In the town of Kassen, in Lastwall, they have a ceremony each year. Their ceremony memorial to those difficult first years of the town’s history. Every autumn, a few of the townsfolk make a pilgrimage to the crypt to light a lantern from the flame and bring it back to town, where it is preserved all winter, a symbol of the town’s resilience
He takes a sip from his glass of wine, than continues on, I would like you, to go forth as hopeful Society members to the town of Kassen, and take part in their ceremony. Not only will it give you six a chance to see a bit of Golarion, but it will also give the Society a a good reputation for any future endeavors we may wish to conclude. Any questions?
Once again, I am taking artistic license over the intro stuff, unless I am not allowed to since it is PFS, but I needed a way to get you there :)
Waruk |
sounds good lol
"Are we doing this as a diplomatic mission for us or have they invited us to do this?" Says a gruff looking half orc wearing little armor and he has a glaive on his back.
Waruk |
"My last question is how are we to travel? Is this a place we can get to with a horse and carage or do we have to take a boat? Is the society paying for it or is it something we have to come up with on our own?"
Hootie Bell |
"I don't suppose there are anything specific we have to do? I heard that most of these missions tend to involve one thing or the other." this time a voice from the back where a rather amply endowed petite woman sits. Her rather striking red hair brushed back.
Nitkiflink Stormfizz |
Nit's eyes shine with an almost golden hue at the sound of it all. Finally my confirmation calls. Bounding off of the chair his wispy blue hair waves about.
Grabbing his back pack he quickly makes sure that everything is there before donning it. reaching over the little gnome grabs a longspear from the wall nearby. He quickly pounds the end of it onto the ground with a resounding dull thud. Well then. Let's be off.
My frost mage was killed in here :(. Is everyone's character completely new or does someone have a wand of CLW?
Hootie Bell |
Completely new
"I see Sir, sounds simple enough."
Raven Carlysle |
Not new, have a wand. Although Raven doesn't like to admit that she can't use it heh. I'll post my intro this evening probably.

The elf mentions with all seriousness: "When dealing with locals, be careful not to mention any problems with their academic or social development. Inferior races especially take offense at those who correct improper belief systems and etiquette."
DM Stylz |
Feel free to make any purchases you can/want. I will move story along to arrival
The VC, dismisses you to get along with the mission. You are given a quick ride to the northern shores, and then given a few horses that you can ride closer to your destination.
You arrive in the tow of Kassen, the town is empty from all living people. You arrive at the center of the town, and after a tense moment, something happens,
The bells atop the Temple of Erastil toll their midday song, echoing throughout the quiet town of Kassen. As the peals begin to fade, the first of the townsfolk make their way into the square, dressed in black, as if attending a funeral. They slowly fill the square, moving quietly across the cold, hard ground, their eyes downcast and mournful. After a few moments, a murmur passes through the crowd as it slowly parts to let Mayor Uptal through. He leads the way with a tarnished silver lantern. Behind him, an old pony drags a cart laden with backpacks and supplies.
Once he reaches the center of the crowd, Mayor Uptal stops and calls out to the assembled townsfolk. Once again the winter winds blow through the Fangwood, marking the end of another harvest. There are wolves in the woods, howling at our walls, and serpents in our shadows, waiting to strike. Just as it was one hundred and seventy-four years ago, when Kassen himself left these walls to protect us, so it is today. Where are the heroes? Where are the brave folk that will venture out to Kassen’s tomb and retrieve the flame to keep this community safe for another winter?
Fleur Roseleaf |
A young human female looks across the people gathered and steps forward with flare of a performer, "I Fleur Roseleaf will venture forth to Kassen's tomb to retrieve the flame. Are there any here brave enough to accompany me?"
Fleur's blond hair falls down to her shoulders and onto studded leather armor. A short bow rest on her back and a longsword hangs from her belt. She smiles with confidence as she waits to see who else joins her.
Waruk |
Oh boy Waruk is astounded that the little lady was the first to volunteer
"Hold up there little lady you aint going with out me."

Raven Carlysle |
Raven arrives late to the briefing and only just catches what they're supposed to be doing. Her dark hair falls to her shoulders, and her robes of blue silk would look more at home at a fanciful gathering than a Society mission. Tucked safely into her belt is a wand. Get in good with the locals? That's why they called me away from transporting the relic? She isn't sure whether to feel angry or relieved. On the one hand, she, a veteran of two whole missions, had been thrust into the thick of things without much of an introduction-- rescuing a young girl who'd been trapped for years and presumed dead, then recovering a powerful Iroran relic. She'd been called away from the rest of the journey for what she had assumed was a more important assignment-- what is, it turns out, more of a public relations affair than anything else. Perhaps the Society felt she deserved a simpler mission after two such dangerous ones. She'll do it.
* * * * *
"I, Raven Carlyle, will go," she says aloud at the start of the ceremony, trying to add as much pomp as she can.
Hootie Bell |
"Well then. I Hootie Bell will go as well. Now stop looking at me the wrong way.." she grins as she steps up.
DM Stylz |
The mayor looks around as you volunteer to head to the tomb, and gather the flame. The mayor once again speaks to the townsfolk. I present to you the brave heroes who will follow in Kassen’s footsteps to retrieve the Everflame! Some of them may not return, but I say to you that their sacrifice shall not be forgotten. Go, brave heroes, and do not return until you have the eternal fire. With that, the mayor points to the south, the direction of Kassen’s tomb. The townsfolk begin waving goodbye with cold, solemn looks on most of their faces.
He gives you each a sack with various goods inside. Between the six of your packs you find the following: 50 feet of hempen rope, a box containing tinder and three tindertwigs, a labeled potion of cure light wounds, three torches, a grappling hook, and a small bottle of local brandy, along with torn pieces of parchment. You piece the parchment together to find it a map, to Kassen's Tomb.
divide as you see fit
-----
You head along the route marked on the map. After around 2 hours of traveling through the narrow path and winding through the raking claws of the trees, now bereft of their leaves, which crunch loudly underfoot, you come to a clearing. Up ahead, a fallen tree trunk blocks the path. Suddenly a trio of snarling humanoids leaps up from behind the log, all greenish skin and fearsome tusks, bellowing vulgar challenges.

The two remaining orcs move forward upon Waruk. One provokes a swing as it gets near, while the other moves up and tries to leave a nasty gash with its greataxe. The orc that tries to get towards Waruk, takes a glaive slash to the face. Blood streams down his cheek and jaw, but he stays up thanks to his own orcish heritage. He than delivers a nasty slash of his own, ripping past Waruk'' armor. Bone crunches and if it weren't for Waruk's own orcish blood, he would have surely fallen.

Ya wow totally didnt relize i took the first hit lol. My second turn would have been so different lol. GM can i just do a total withdraw? If not I hope someone can heal me before i die or kill the 2 enemys. This is not how i wanted this mod run to end lol
Tannivh Purtham |
Tannivh advances and opens his hands and releases some colored sand that quickly change into a spray of colors as he moves his fingers and chants in an arcane language. The two enemies standing are washed in the colors.
Color spray template in orange, feel free to delete
School illusion (pattern) [mind-affecting]; Level sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M (red, yellow, and blue powder or colored sand)
Range 15 ft.
Area cone-shaped burst
Duration instantaneous; see text
Saving Throw Will negates; Spell Resistance yes
A vivid cone of clashing colors springs forth from your hand, causing creatures to become stunned, perhaps also blinded, and possibly knocking them unconscious. Each creature within the cone is affected according to its HD.
2 HD or less: The creature is unconscious, blinded, and stunned for 2d4 rounds, then blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, and then stunned for 1 round. (Only living creatures are knocked unconscious.)
3 or 4 HD: The creature is blinded and stunned for 1d4 rounds, then stunned for 1 round.
5 or more HD: The creature is stunned for 1 round.
Sightless creatures are not affected by color spray.

I think i would still be at -9 because both attacks his round 1. doing the full withdraw is fine because i can move back further to allies to recieve aid and not have to worry about being adjacent to them when they go on round 2. I was asking because i had already taken my second turn with the attack roll, but if i can move that would be great. Either way my character is at -9 and bleading out, but i would rather be back adjacent to allies than the enemy lol

Both orcs, succumb to the vivid colors that cause a sensory overload. Then something strange happens...the three orcs you were just fighting disappear. The wounds suffered by Waruk seem to disappear as well. It appear the enemies were simply illusions, meant to delay you and cause you some annoyance, but not serious threat.
All "wounds" disappear. The cast spell is still expended however.

After everything is sorted out, and any pride that may still exist is found again, the six of you continue forward onto the Crypt in question. Your group travels for several more hours, and any semblance of civilization disappears out of sight. The cold, bitter wind, cuts through the trees and cuts through whatever protection you may seem to have.
After some searching you find a patch of ground, fairly flat and protected on multiple sides by thick bushes. During the night, you are worried that something may view you as food. Halfway through your meal of rations, you hear the sounds of wolves off in the distance. Their howl sends shivers down your spine...or it could be the cold, you are unsure.

Nitkiflink thinks he hears something over in the bushes, but just figures its his mind playing tricks on him. A few moments later, Waruk spots a shadowy figure at the edge of camp, circling the camp in a clockwise motion. Waruk warns the others. A good plenty are ready for the ensuing tussle to come, except for Waruk who stumbles to get his bearings as he shouts out the warning.
You can tell that these wolves are lean, starving predators looking for a quick meal.
