Xakon, that should be 3d6 damage, not 3d8. Regardless, the damage modifier is enough to kill it outright. Also, you don't have to roll to hit with a coup de grace.

Xakon slides his lance into the heart of the morlock by the door, killing it. Apparently the squishing noise was just loud enough to awaken the morlock laying next to him, who rubs his eyes and quickly stands up.

Xakon can take an AoO on the morlock standing up, which could potentially make this encounter quick.

Xakon hits the morlock with his lance, but the injury is not enough to kill it.

Notes about the map: Everyone (except Xakon) is currently in a small underground tunnel that curves from west to east and is 25 feet long. There is a square between Xakon and Mudk. The other squares are currently occupied by PC's to give you a visualization of where the squares should be.

Xakon is standing in a square with a hatch that leads out of the underground tunnel into a stone hallway. The enemy is adjacent to him so there is currently no way to attack in melee (unless you are Xakon) without acrobatics or some other manner of moving past the enemy. Furthermore, the enemy has total cover from anyone in the tunnel.

Frēodwēn begins inspiring courage in his companions as he tries to move past the morlock but isn't quite nimble enough to make it. It then makes an opportunity attack that fails to hit.

Mudk then follows the rest, positioning himself behind Xakon.

The morlock tries to tumble away from Xakon, but is, much like the rest of his brethren, clumsy in the attempt and provokes an attack from the barbarian rogue. If the morlock somehow survives, it stops at the intersection of another tunnel and seems to be waiting for something. Xakon has an AoO on the morlock.

The map is a little confusing thanks to the underground tunnels, I'll do my best to keep things clearer in the future.

Xakon finishes the conflict quickly as he dispatches the morlock with his second opportunity attack.

Combat Over.

A search of the morlocks only reveals more simple clubs, while a search of the tunnel discovers a manual trap set up near the hatch designed to swing a sharp blade across a 10 foot area.

I'm going to move to the next encounter, but if there was anything you wanted to do between rooms please feel free to post it retroactively.

With the end of the passage full of rubble, the group diverts south at the T intersection. In this hallway stand two doors to the west and another passageway to the east. Following the standard protocol, Xakon checks the northwest door for traps and finds none. He then opens it and looks inside.

This large, square room appears to have been a receiving room. Its ceiling extends upward in a high arch, from which dangle the remains of four candelabras on long chains. Great chunks of the floor have been torn free, leaving three gaping pits. Crudely skinned pelts lie in small piles strewn about the room.

Scattered around the room and surprised to see you are six adult morlocks and what appear to be four child morlocks. The adults quickly arm themselves with their clubs while the children look around in fear.

I'm not going to place the child morlocks on the map since you'll quickly learn they are noncombatants, but if you want to target them I'll give you leeway on their locations.

Sivantanpisil stabs the black-haired morlock with her first longspear attack, but misses with the second.

Xakon rushes past some of the flat-footed creatures to perform a sneak attack on the white-haired morlock on the other side of the room.

The purplish skinned morlock moves from its position in the south to swarm with the white-haired morlock. It then makes a failed attack on Xakon.

Despite its serious injuries, the white-haired morlock also tries to attack Xakon with both its club and its teeth. Neither attack hits.

The morlock with extremely blue eyes follows up with its own club and bite attacks which also miss Xakon.

Perhaps angry about being stabbed by Sivantanpisil, the black-haired morlock moves five feet up the cleric with a full attack that also fails to hit.

The morlocks with green hair and reddish hair then tumble into position to swarm on Sivantanpisil, although the green one lets its guard down enough to provoke an attack of opportunity. Following the lead of all other morlocks in the room, neither of their attacks hit. Sivvy gets an AoO on the green morlock.

The four morlock children quickly scatter and clamber up the walls while they anxiously watch the outcome of the battle from the ceiling. If either Xakon or Sivvy want to take an AoO against one of the kids, its available to you.

Sugarsnap casts a Guidance spell on Mudk and gives him a bit of advice.

Xakon, you can't retreat into the north hallway without going through one of the doors on the east side of the room. I also now notice that you standing in one of the pits. I'll hand wave the pit for the sake of expediency, but let me know where you want to move.

Frēodwēn hears Mudk's proclamations and guesses the situation. He murmurs a spell and moves to stand in the doorway, where he points at Siv and Xakon and shouts in Morlock "Cease this violence!"

Xakon steps into the corner away from the morlocks.

Frēodwēn casts a spell that allows him to both speak and understand all languages and exhorts everyone to stop fighting.

One of the wounded morlocks replies with an obscenity while another tells the children, "Go warn Anuuk-Tog. Be safe."

The young morlocks obey as they move to the southwest door and begin to move out of the room. I moved the yellow dot to indicate the door.

With that out of the way, the adult morlocks go back on the offensive. Purple and white swarm next to Xakon and attack with both club and bite, although neither hits the well defended halfling.

Blue and black swarm together on Sivantanipisil, and their attacks also miss. The only movements were five foot steps, so no AoO's.

Despite Frēodwēn's attempt at stopping the violence, the green and red morlocks swarm next to him. The morlock with reddish tuffs of hair manages to actually hit the bard with its club. Freod takes 8 damage from the hit.

As Frēodwēn prepares to fire an arrow into the red-haired morlock, both adjacent enemies take attacks of opportunity. The red morlock gets lucky once again and lands a glancing blow on the Ranger/Bard with its club. Freod takes 3 damage from the AoO

Frēodwēn then lets an arrow fly into the red-haired morlock's chest and the creature instantly goes down, apparently evil by how much injury the bow caused.

He then fires another that results in a killing headshot on the green morlock. Unless you wanted to stop with dropping the red one.

Frēodwēn third shot, if he takes it, misses its target.

Mudk comes in the long way, perhaps suddenly realizing he could have just waited for Frēodwēn to clear the way.

As the bottleneck lessens Sugar sees her chance and meanders her way into the room.

as she calls truffles in to help Sugar calls forth a ball of fire on the ones fighting Xakon.
