Jirah Aurellion |
Jirah launches another arrow charged with her arcane power at the serpent folk spell caster.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Sivantanpisil |
"I can't target that particular effect, but I can dispel her greatest magical effect!"
Cast Dispel Magic on the large snake.
Dispel Magic: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Nice! I think that takes out the out the highest level spell with a minimum of CL8. So, that could be upwards of a 4th level spell.
GM Harker |
Jirah lands a solid hit with arrow into the serpentfolk.
Sivantanpisil believes she may have dispelled some magical effect on the snake lady, but she's unsure exactly what that is.
The snake lady slithers out of the flank and attacks Mudk with her bite and sting. The bite manages to make it past both Mudk's physical and spiritual armor. Mudk takes 3 damage
Bite: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27

Xakon, when using Step Up you can't take another 5 foot step on your next turn as per the Feat. You can take a move action to just move 5 feet, but since it's a move action, it will provoke. Please let me know how you want to handle this. In the meantime, I moved you where you would be when you used Step Up.

His attacks get wilder and wilder as the emotions fill his voice.
GM Harker |
Again, in a Silence spell nobody can hear you scream.
Xakon steps up with the snake lady, then tries to tumble past the two enemies. Unfortunately, he doesn't spin quickly enough to avoid provoking opportunity attacks. He does, however, avoid being hit by either attack.
The rogue barbarian then strikes the snake lady once with his rapier as a sneak attack.
Mudk follows up with two of his own attacks, one which critically hits, while the other misses. Despite the massive injuries she has sustained, the snake lady remains a threat.
S Rapier: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18

Sivantanpisil |
I assume he isn't casting defensively so he provokes an AOO from Sivvy wielding her reach weapon.
Seeing the serpent folk casting a spell, Sivvy takes advantage of the opening and thrusts her spear at the creature. "Let's see if you can concentrate enough to ask your god for any blessing of health!".
Waiting for Jirah to fire her bow, she steps backwards and begins casting a spell.
Courageous blesses Power Atk w/ Longspear: 1d20 + 8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 8 + 2 + 1 = 19 for piercing damage of : 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16

GM Harker |
Since he would have noticed Siv was armed with a polearm and taking damage to heal yourself would not make sense, he would cast defensively.
Defensive Cast: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
The serpentfolk casts his healing spell defensively.
If this would change Siv's actions, please feel free to change them however you wish.
Jirah Aurellion |
Jirah smirks as the group's battle movements part like a wave, giving her an open shot to the serpent folk caster.
Too bad you can't hear my bow sing. It's quite beautiful.
She releases the arrow after charging it, letting the energy give the arrow a crimson glow.
Attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
GM Harker |
Sugarsnap needs line of sight to know where to send the lightning bolt, so I moved both her and Truffles to the other side of the room. Otherwise the Spire in the middle blocks your sight of the serpentfolk.
Sugarsnap adjusts her position with Truffles to cast another bolt of lightning at the serpentfolk, but the enemy manages to dodge out of the bolt's center path to avoid taking the full force.
Frēodwēn continues to inspire the companions that can hear him and fires two arrows at the serpentfolk, the last of which hits.
Jirah follows up with her own arrow which also strikes the serpentfolk.
Sivantanpisil moves back with some of the others and begins a long cast summoning spell.
The snake lady turns her full attention to Mudk, attempting to bite and sting him. Although she comes close to biting, Mudk's divine power deflects the evil creature's attack away from him.

Xakon misses with his first rapier thrust, but the second lands true as it passes though the snake lady's neck near the head. The creature then collapses into an inert pile on the floor, completely dead.

Combat Over
Injury Report: Mudk: 3 damage, Xakon: 9 damage.
Nothing is found on the remains of the snake lady.
On the serpentfolk, you find two magical rapiers, each with a hilt that appears to be a serpent coiled up to strike, as well as a magical pearl and a gold holy symbol of what you believe is Kro'akoth worth probably around 600 gp.
Searching the room, you notice that the pit around the emerald spire is full of snakes, but intertwined with those snakes appear to be valuable masks decorated with jewels. You'll have to deal with the snake swarm before you can lay claim to them.
They're just +1 rapiers.
It's a Pearl of Power (1st level)
No traps are found on the unlocked west door, nor any sounds heard.
Jirah Aurellion |
Jirah smirks.
Or a blast of fire from a spell. Either way, should be simple enough to deal with them.

Spellcraft on Rapier 2: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27

Jirah gestures to the items found.
The rapiers have a basic minor enchantment on them +1. The Pearl is much more powerful. It allows those of use who prepare spells to recall a single spell each day. Pearl of Power 1
Frēodwēn |
Frēodwēn looks at Mudk with a smile. I'm not sure he always knows what he's saying.
"Can you charm these snakes also, m'lady?" he looks to Sugarsnap

Ninja'ed by Sugarsnap!
Sugarsnap follows up by casting a Flaming Sphere spell and moving the orb into the pit. After about 30 seconds of moving the sphere around, all the snakes are dead. No need to prolong the inevitable.
Once someone moves into the pit to retrieve the treasure, you find that the items are six death masks decorated with jewels, worth around 2000gp.
The door to the west is trap free and sound free.
GM Harker |
Sivantanpisil takes the initiative and opens the door to the next room to reveal that four stone pillars support the lofty ceiling of thechamber, each patterned like writhing serpents. Between two of the pillars is a large hammock. The room was once beautiful, but is befouled with piles of garbage, bones, and excrement in every corner.
Standing next to the hammocks are two medium sized humanoids on the largish size, with twisted and deformed bodies. Their eyes are extremely small for their size and they frown at you with mouths full of jagged teeth. By the way they're brandishing their shortspears and yelling curses at you (that only Frēodwēn understands), they don't appear happy to see you.
It's Knowledge (local) to identify these creatures.
Indeed, they both charge the door and attack Sivantanpisil with their shortspears. Despite having the advantage against the flat-footed cleric, neither brute makes it past her armor.

Frēodwēn identifies the brutes as ogrekin, the unfortunate offspring of an ogre and a humanoid. These creatures are usually born with deformities that give them some advantages and disadvantages. These particular ogrekin appear to be born with oversized arms and very small heads, suggesting some heightened combat ability along with diminished mental acuity.
Sugarsnap casts Barkskin on Truffles and asks him to advance, and the boar happily follows her command.
Xakon, it appears that you need 25 movement to move into the square you wanted to stop in due to two diagonal movements, but you can only move 20 feet with one acrobatics move. I moved you back a square to take this into account.
Xakon tumbles past the ogrekin and hits the northern one with his rapier.
A small, blurry, elf-like creature hitherto unseen appears near Xakon and moves into a flank with the northern ogrekin. It then sticks the halfling with its short sword, doing extra damage with a sneak attack. Xakon takes 5 damage from the attack.
