I'm going to bot Siv to keep things moving, hopefully she'll be able to find a solution to her problem bring up the map.

I also went ahead and rolled attacks of opportunity from those of you with reach weapons. I didn't realize how many there would be.

Jirah stabs at the skeleton with her glaive, but the weapon slips between an empty space between ribs and does not strike.

Sivantanpisil advances into the room and tries to hit one of the skeletons in the northeast with her longspear. Even though the bones absorb the worst of the blow, the cleric's strike is strong enough to destroy the creature.

As one of the remaining northwest skeleton advances on the group and enters her threat range, Sivantanpisil's longspear breaks it completely apart as well. With her well-honed combat reflexes, she also hits another (black) as it closes in, but only slightly damages it.

Mudk attempts to finish it off with his own attack of opportunity, but misses. Jirah then takes her shot at it with the same result.

Somehow surviving the multiple attacks, that skeleton moves adjacent to a number of the party and tries to harm Sivantanpisil with its scimitar and claw. Fortunately, neither attack hits.

The one near Jirah then moves up to her and attacks her as well. Its scimitar penetrates her defenses and gives her a minor wound. Jirah takes 4 damage from the scimitar.

Wisps of decayed and sagging spider webs droop from the walls of this room, which appears to be empty except for the long-dead, dismembered corpse of a giant spider and a stout, freestanding wooden closet in the southwestern corner. The ceiling is covered with dusty spider webs bulging down from a grid of wooden beams and plaster fifteen feet above the floor. Faint moans and plaintive sobbing come from the closet.

The combined efforts of Xakon, Mudk, and Frēodwēn make extremely short work of the spider.

Combat Over.

Jirah replaces the arrow she had drawn as her comrades slay the spider.
Well, that was over quickly. Maybe we're getting the hang of this place yet...

"Indeed, Jirah. Well done, friends. Xak, if you would do the honors..." Frēodwēn points at the trap door.

pretty sure this is the tap door my paladin all but died in on his solo run to... *ahem*. He didn't actually die until our alchemist *coughcoughakaMudkcoughcough* threw a bomb into the Web room we are just leaving, where the spiders had dragged the paladin's unconscious body.

Sometimes treasure can be find in traps or in a spider's belly. Mudk, if you fish out the spider, then I will climb down and look for shiny objects.

Xakon secures silk rope to the nearest anchor and climbs down to inspect the pit using the light spell on his shield. He retrieves his dagger from the spider and uses his masterwork thieves' tools to disable the trap afterwards.

Xakon retrieves his dagger, but finds no treasure near or inside the spider. After disarming the trap permanently by propping the two sides closed with spikes, he moves to the corner and looks down the west hallway.

He now sees that there are two doors to the south, spaced 10 feet away from one another and a barrier preventing further movement west to a third door on the other side. Indeed, Massive black iron gates bar the corridor, fashioned out of twisted, angular vertical bars that have sharp edges and are about a handspan apart, linked by welded crossbars. The gates have massive hinges set deep into the walls, and a heavy lock inside a welded box secures sliding bars that run into sockets in the floor and ceiling at the center of the corridor. Moreover, a black iron chain with links as thick as a human thumb wraps around the gates where they meet above and below the lockbox. The chain’s ends disappear into holes in the lockbox.

I'll give you a chance to react before moving on.

"A hallway seems like an odd place for such a gate. I wonder what it's for."
