You rolled an attack for me and it was a nat 20... That's an auto hit no matter what, right? It's even a critical threat... Wouldn't you have to roll to confirm, and upon a confirm failure, still get normal damage? Apologies for taking so long to post, by the way, I was in a regional theft investigation with my company trying to catch some check fraud thieves at my company. I only just got back home, and got caught up on my games.
Jirah waits to see what happens before moving forward.

Yeah, I totally missed it was a natural 20, my apologies.

What looked like a missed shot by Jirah in fact hits the goblinoid in the shoulder, which finally wipes the stupid smile off his ugly face.

Xakon is carrying a light source, the goblinoid moved around the spire and out of the line of sight of those mentioned above.
Xakon's rapier also penetrates the enemy's defenses, stabbing him in the side. Things then just seem to get worse for the goblinoid, as Mudk's Doom spell takes hold.

Did any of that movement leave Frēodwēn a clear shot at any moment? Obviously he'd sooner take a shot with partial cover than one with partial cover + melee pennalty.
Gamemaster | CC Map | S4 Map
Freod, moving behind Xakon's former position removes the cover penalty when Xakon moves, but you now have the melee penalty.

I readied an action to attack when there is a clear shot. Could that not trigger as Xakon moves but before he is in melee? That was my question.
Gamemaster | CC Map | S4 Map
Reading over the PRD entry on readied actions, it appears that you do interrupt the the other character's action, so yes you could fire without penalties. However, I'm afraid with the darkness effect you won't be able to see him until Xakon is adjacent to him with his light source. So, you can either take the melee penalty or the 50% miss chance.

Unfortunately, neither Xakon nor Truffles are able to take full advantage of the opening left by the goblinoid as he retreats.
Mudk heals some of Xakon's injuries, before the rogue moves to engage the goblinoid again in melee. Prior to Xakon reaching his target, Frēodwēn fires an arrow into the area specified by Mudk and his darkvision, but the projectile misses. Xakon then enters melee range with the goblinoid, only to have his rapier attack dodged. Truffles' gore attack only barely misses as well.
On her end, Sugarsnap uses her wand to close up more of Frēodwēn wounds.

Finally seeing his chance, the goblinoid flees down a 5' wide hall towards an opening at the top of the spire 60 feet above ground. Fearlessly, he jumps out and begins to leisurely float to the earth.
Truffles and Xakon get another batch of AoO's from the bugbear fleeing.
Assuming those attacks don't kill him and you don't want to jump 60 feet down to follow, I'll allow two of you with ranged attacks to follow him down the hall and make two attacks each from above. Since the hallway is only 5' wide, the ranged attacker in front has no penalties, while the second shooter will have to take a -4 from the cover of the first attacker. After you both attack twice, the bugbear will hide among the ruins and presumably escape. I'll leave it up to you guys to decide who your snipers are.
