Once I get a majority of everyone's Day Jobs and Hexes (or acknowledgement of lack thereof), I'll report the session and send out of chronicles sheets.
I anticipate starting the next level either the week of the 9th or the 16th. I'll give you a firmer date once I get the sheets out. If the majority wants to add another player, I'll start recruiting then as well.
Sivantanpisil |
I will be traveling out of the country with limited internet 10/6-10/12. Then, traveling on business from 10/15-10/19. I should be able to make a couple posts towards the end of that second trip. Just FYI.
GM Harker |
The session has been reported and I've sent Chronicle sheets out to your provided email addresses. Let me know if there are any issues with the sheets (Other than the messed up color, my ink was running out).
We'll start Level 7 on Monday October 17th. Hopefully that will give everyone plenty of time to level up.
In the meantime, I'll try to recruit a new person for the group with an initial focus on either a Wizard or Sorcerer.

Now that the module is done can you tell us what was up with the girl?

Hey guys. So, a lot of you have probably noticed my absence in my games for the last month or so. I wanted to go ahead and apologize to all of my players that I was GM'ing for and all of my GM's that I just disappeared on.
My diabetes took a really vicious turn a while back, and I ended up in a really, really bad case of diabetic ketoacidosis, and have been in the hospital ICU for pretty much the majority of my absence. I was unconscious/in a fugue state pretty much the entire time. I've sent messages to all my games that are still active to let them know that I didn't intentionally abandon them or take off with no warning. I was fine in the morning and then that evening I was being carried out of my bathroom on a stretcher and put into an ambulance. I'm going to try to slowly get back into PFS, I have a lot to do, such as find a new job and place to live, but hopefully I can get back into GM'ing multiple games and having fun with everyone.
Again, I sincerely apologize for everything. I hate being that guy who just disappears when involved in a group project.
That being said, should you guys want me to continue on with you, I most definitely can now.
GM Harker |
Dang, Jirah, that sounds pretty scary. I'm glad to hear you are doing better now.
I have to say that you picked a very good time to announce your return as I had just picked a replacement player. Since you have an extremely good reason for your sudden disappearance, I have no issues with you returning to the game. I have already let the other person know that you are back and will be playing again.
You'll be a character level behind everyone, but you can make that up in later dungeon levels.
Frēodwēn |
When a player suddenly goes AWOL from all their games you usually hope that nothing bad happened. I'm sorry to hear that was the case this time, but I'm glad to hear you are alright.

Yeah, I seem to have gotten back to life right at the crucial moment for several of my games. I'll take a hard look at my chronicles and make sure everything is good, and I'll be ready for the next level when we start on the 17th. Thanks for having me back guys.
For the record, the whole experience was a doozy. I'm glad I made it through. Some don't.
Lady Sugarsnap |
just an update post here.
I have been off-line for a couple of days. had pneumonia real bad. almost bed ridden.
fever finally broke today after almost 4 days over 101F (38.33C for our non-american friends)
still a little light headed from the medications to reduce the fluid in my right lung.
Jirah Aurellion |
Get better sugarsnap. We'll be here waiting for you when it's time to get going.

Hey GM, I just had a thought. If I did normal progression instead of half for the last chronicle I received, wouldn't I be at the same level as the rest of the party? That way we wouldn't have me a level behind, especially since I'm only a part time wizard anyway
Xakon |
Upgrading rapier to +2 for 6,000. Taking another level of barbarian, improved uncanny dodge and toughness feat. Taking Superstitious Rage Power.
GM Harker |
Jirah, I believe the last chronicle sheet you received from me was The Drowned Level, for which you got the full 3 experience points. The only chronicle in which you went slow progression was Godhome. Even if you took that at normal progression it would only give you 1 experience instead of the .5 you received, which isn't enough to level.
Although I don't think it will be a significant issue, if you're concerned about being a level behind I would encourage you to run a module or part of an AP as a Core campaign to make up the Exp. Otherwise, once the group reaches the 10th level of Emerald Spire they'll be an opportunity to catch up to the others by taking a suggested slow level with normal experience.
Jirah Aurellion |
That sounds good to me. When I get home today I'll get everything updated and have a post up.
Xakon |
I am retraining 1 level of Rogue to barbarian for 7 PP and 490 gp (7 days x 10 gp x level) to become 3 barbarian and 4 rogue. Updating now.
Jirah Aurellion |
I was able to get Jirah's purchases and level up finished on paper, but I didn't have a good enough signal yesterday at home to update the profile properly. I will be able to tonight, but the gist of it was pretty basic.
•All current skills +1
•Wizard Level
•Rapid Shot Feat
•Scorching Ray and Hideous Laughter added to spell book
I'll have the online profile updated tonight for sure.
Frēodwēn |
I picked up some skills, a level 2 spell (Heroism!).
Most important change for me outside of BAB was probably the headband of Charisma.

Just a quick heads up. My piston may be scarce over the next few days. I'm moving into a new place (hopefully, fingers crossed) tomorrow, I just got made a Venture Agent in an area where my Venture Captain is two hours away and my closest Venture Lieutenant is forty five minutes away, and also trying to kick this cold that decided to come out of nowhere. I'll still be checking the boards close to twice a day if possible, though. I just wanted to let you guys know not to worry if I miss a post for a day or two.
GM, I should be getting a new laptop soon so I'll be able to edit my actual profile page on here to reflect my current level and stats.
GM Harker |
I need day job rolls and hex purchases and then I'll send out the Chronicle sheets for this level. With the holidays, they may not go out until the 27th or 28th. Although there is a chance I might be able to get them out before then if everyone submits their information early.
Here is a link to the Land Rush Chronicle sheet.
With the holiday season upon us, we'll go on hiatus until at least January 3rd at which time we'll pick back with the next level.
Thanks as always for playing and happy holidays!
Xakon |
Thank you so much for continuing the campaign and hosting another successful module. I really appreciate your GM style.
Enough brown nosing. No land hex and no day job.

Thanks for the great session, GM. Looking forward to the next one.

Re: my last combat post. I have always understood using acrobatics to be something done on a square by square basis.
With a 30' move speed one might double move to:
* walk 10' (10' so far)
* then halve one's move speed for the next 5' (for a cost of 10') to step out of a threatened area by making an acrobatics check (20' so far)
* Then move another 15' into another threatened area (35' so far)
* Then use acrobatics to move safely through two more threatened squares at half speed (55' so far)
* Then either stop movement or move 5' more feet that provoke
I've never understood acrobatics to be its own special Move Action and it seems to me they worded it in a very confusing way if that was the intention. I would expect it to explicitly mention it being a move action, rather than "you can move through a threatened square without provoking an attack of opportunity from an enemy by using Acrobatics."
All that was to try to clear up the confusion about my posted action. I think your interpretation is weird, but I have no problem playing by it in future.

Profession Sculptor: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Let me take a look at the land rush sheet before I post my hex. It'll probably be later on, perhaps the day after Christmas or so.
GM Harker |
I'll get the Chronicle sheets out late tonight/early tomorrow. My apologies for the delay, but the holidays and car shopping has been eating up my free time. I still need a day job and hex from Sivantanpisil and a hex from Jirah.
Thank you all for the compliments, I really do appreciate them.
Thanks for clarifying Freod. In regards to Acrobatics to avoid AoO's, my local groups always ran it as the full move action was cut in half not just the individual threatened squares. The thought process there is that if only those particular squares were double movement, then the text would spell it out as such rather than just state that it's half movement overall. There does appear to be a lot of support for Freod's take on the rule too, however. So, I'll take some time to look over the consensus about this before the next game starts and let you know what I think.
Jirah Aurellion |
Let me check my hexes so far and I'll let you know which one I'm taking.
Jirah Aurellion |
I'll take hex b6, please. Thanks for running, GM, you're doing an exceptional job with such a long-term game, and I'm enjoying it immensely.
GM Harker |
The session has been reported and Chronicle sheets have been sent to your email addresses, thanks again for playing.
One note about Siv's chronicle, I did not include her day job since I believe the Heal skill is not eligible for a DJ check unless you possess the Temple vanity. Unfortunately, that is not Core compliant unless you have a boon. If I'm missing something and Siv is eligible to use the Heal skill for a DJ by some other means, please let me know and I'll send you a copy of the adjusted sheet.
We'll get started on the next level sometime in the middle of next week.
