Laeowynne, unfortunately I didn't hear you do that defensively, so...

Tanna casts light on her shield, however her light does not penetrate the darkness here. Seems the darkness is too powerful for an orison.
No attacks of opportunity. It is grappling something. :p

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Laeowynne:
Ah, I see. Whenever you cast a spell, normally you provoke an attack of opportunity from any enemy that could hit you where you cast the spell. One option to avoid that is to "cast defensively," and you don't provoke an attack of opportunity when doing so (no matter what you roll on concentration), and the concentration DC is 15 + double spell level (So, 17 for a level 1 spell). If you fail, you lose the spell. If you succeed, it goes off normally.

Nice though on those concentrations. You didn't lose the spell and you are now mage armored.

Then he tries to remember how tall everyone is.... This wouldn't be the best time for size-blindness.

The creature releases it grapple on Laeowynne and moves somewhere. Going after Tyranius

Tyranius:
It's attacking you from above! (It sees you as the primary threat)

Also, it's not particularly great at flying, so It provokes an AoO from you as it flies above you.

Slam Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Grab Attempt: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15
Constrict Damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 Wow, max damage twice in a row. Take 12.

The Darkness has moved. At this point, you can kind of guess where it is based on where the darkness is moving and Tyranius shouting, so I placed it on the map. (Will become a lot harder should Tyranius fall)

Still 50% miss chance on attacks and can't target with targeted spell, although area spells would work.

Creat, yes, at this point I put it on the map as you can hear where Tyranius is yelling from. It's over him, so you don't have to spend a move action to know where it is.

Tanna, as a note, you can't both heal and harm at the same time when you channel. Are you looking to heal? I'm going to go on that assumption. In that case, the enemy is getting healed as well, and Tyranius is pointing that out to you. So at the very least you know it's NOT undead.

Will update when I can. My mother had an ER visit and I'm suffering from bad allergies right now heh.

Just to recap the room you're in.
Old carvings cover the walls of this square chamber, thick with dust and cobwebs. Three sets of stone double doors stand in the three facing walls. Heavy bronze seals emblazoned with the symbol of Pharasma secure the doors against whatever lies beyond.

All the stone doors don't seem to have a lock, but all three sets of doors are sealed by some kind of mystic energy.

On inspecting the carvings (Remember, if you don't have a rank in a knowledge skill, you can't make above a 10 on it):

Knowledge (History) DC 15:
The carvings reference the seven runelords of ancient Thassilon. The runelords were powerful wizards each tied to a deadly sin who constantly vied for power, and who each possessed their own relic weapon to aid them.

Perception DC 15:
In common, you see a phrase marked on the wall. It seems more recent than the other ancient carvings, but still looks a few year old itself.

My heart beats on the wrong side of my chest, or is it right? Is left right, or is it wrong? I don’t know what it means, or why.

Creat looks at the bandage. "It's an--*ahem* friendly fire--acid burn. I would think that would be worth a small hard candy."

About the door and the chime.

"I don't mind using it when we have to but to be honest I would expect places like this to be full of secret hidey holes and passages so maybe after we open up an area up we look around real hard first before we go reaching for the magic gong again. Let's not make this a gong show, capish?"

Creat takes his time and looks about. Take 20 for 25 (26 for traps).

I'm back!

Creat looks at the doors. He doesn't see any traps, but it looks like there's some sort of magical seal barring from entering. As he is a rogue... He feels this magical barrier could be disrupted. IE Disable Device The chime could work as well.

Tell me which door you would like to try to open though, as each of them have a separate magical lock.

"Remember, the Chime only has 5 charges and we have only just begun... and we must save one chime to exit, don't forget!"

Tanna continues,[b]"I didn't detect any traps on any of the tree doors, East, North, or West... but that is truly not my talent."

GM, are all doors barred/ locked (either magically or otherwise)?

All sets of double doors are magically locked in this room. Will have to have a Disable Device check from someone with trapfinding or a use of the chime. No one has decided which way they want to try first though. :)

Laeowynne dusts himself off and adjusts his clothing after the fight. He listens to Tannas update and remarks "I do not do doors like these. It seems a bit...roguish and not scholarly. It does pose a problem though. We have 5 uses. We need to save one for an escape. Thus we can use the chimes four times."

No worries the master is here.

As there isn't a horrible time crunch, Creat takes like 150 on his Disable Device check for a total of like 160 on the northern-most set of doors.

"Wha-LAA!" Creat says in smug triumph. He lightly shoves on the door.

If folks are in a rush he takes 20 to get a pathetic 30 and complains about people rushing him and is noticeably grouchier when he attempts to open it.

Creat disrupts the magical barrier and opens the northern doors with ease.

Bodies wrapped in age-yellowed linens lie in alcoves lining both sides of this wide corridor. Thick cobwebs hang from the ceiling and drape the walls of the crypt; everything is coated in a deep layer of dust.

You see some spiders that look like they have skulls on them crawl out! They attack! Size: Tiny

Monster Knowledges (Remember anyone can make a DC 10 untrained, but not more if not trained)

Knowledge (Nature) DC 10:
These are skull spiders! They are vermin, immune to mind-affecting, and have a venomous sting.

Knowledge (Nature) DC 15:
They can climb the walls, and their lowest save is Will. The sting itself does very little damage, but their venom does constitution damage, where the real danger lies.

Because these things are Tiny, you can walk through their squares.

"Here's hoping they have good heads on their shoulders."

Readied action:
If they provoke AoO as they close:
Rapier (AoO): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12 damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Readied attack if they prove to be hotheads and do anything offensive:
Rapier (readied action): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

PS, Creat is carrying a torch in his off-hand; for the party as a whole and perhaps Tanna in particular. ;)
