In the event that a fight breaks out within the next 20 minutes, I will spend it for +4 initiative.

I have several good Knowledge skills, a massive Profession (Astrologer) bonus, good Linguistics and Spellcraft, and my Diplomacy goes all the way up to +11 if I'm talking to something with 5 or more HD than I've got, which would be great for talking to the dragon, and maybe the stalker and various djinn. I could use help/a refresher knowing what we're after here and what we know about whom.

Alright Agate is tracking down Almoshtari the invisible stalker. Remember to place yourselves on the map next to your guest of choice. The map should have been unlocked for everyone to use. If you can't move your token yet, curse my name in Afrikaans and that should make me take notice.

Daggers are fine for the Gala, as are most one-handed weapons. Check with me if you aren't sure.

Thaia recalls that Imperial Sky dragons tend to be good aligned, with a lawful streak. Or vice versa. Thaia, you get to have one question answered about your generic Imperial Dragon.

Finding Almoshtari is easy for Agate as there aren't many curtains of silks and beads that just move about on their own.

"Ah, one of the daughters of the depths, making her way through the Planum Aurum " it says by way of introduction in a polite tone. Said tone shifts after a few moments of silence to a altogether more snippish one. "I see that the lure of easy power over all you survey has won over even one of the more noble races of the Planum Materialis. I suppose it was too much to hope that your kind be kept away from this event."

So keep in mind that you have already rolled your check. I haven't resolved anything yet, in case you want to reroll using an ability or a piece of Pathfinder swag. RP bonuses and assists can come into play.

While the others begin to circulate, Pavo notes a djinn matching the description given to him of Fairuza Bereket. He smooths his silvery tunic and strides over to the librarian, left hand fidgeting with his Shelynite brooch.

"Good evening, Mistress... Bereket? Forgive the interruption," Pavo begins with a polite bow. "I am Pavo of House Sarini. I am certain that you would have no reason to have heard of me. We--my companions and I--are traveling very far from home in search of knowledge, and I have been deposited here for the evening. My host described you as a most fair and gentle conversationalist, so, hoping it to be true, I braved the interruption."

"I've been given the rare opportunity to travel several different planes in recent months, mostly elemental ones like our respective homelands. It seemed prudent to take that opportunity to study. Anything that takes two-hands to wield would probably be frowned upon. So the morningstar might make the cut but both the crossbow and the musket would be non-starters.

Fairuza Bereket nods at Pavo's words, yet she seems a little off.

Pavo: Sense Motive DC 19:
Her attention is not just on Pavo, but on all of the Pathfinders assembled here.

"Knowledge is a noble quest in of itself, but it is an altogether more satisfying one when knowledge is achieved through labor of the mind. Many come to the Azure Halls in an attempt to seek such knowledge. A shame it remains closed until it's formal re-opening. But truth be told the Cloisters of the Hidden Breeze are just as good. They are dedicated to Pulura and while they do not have the reputation of some others, their collection of historical documents about the planes is impressive. So much so they might even put the Azure Halls to shame" she comments matter-of-factly, a moue of ennui fixed upon her face.

Meanwhile, Almoshtari scoffs. "Forsooth, it would seem that while your kind believes itself the most intelligent and the most savvy in the arts of the arcane arts, you lack the verbosical talents of a true person of the world. I trust we will not meet again." And without another word she leaves Agate to herself, stupefied and stumped.

It would seem that Almoshtari doesn't like arcane casters. At all.

Alexis: what would you want to know about Sky Dragons and Invisible Stalkers? They are sufficiently powerful enough that your ambitious trait would work, but is there anything else? You would have 2 to 3 questions each.

The androgynous air Veela laughs, and grabs Bailey by the hand. "Would beautiful Shelyn forgive you if you wasted this band's beautiful music, and didn't dance to their tune? Come, come! Dance" he/she exclaims, dragging the ifrit onto the dance floor where she/he begins to twirl about to the music!

Meanwhile, Ollo approaches Ghassan, who is standing well apart from the other party-goers and is busy feeding a raven. "Hmmf. I suppose I should chat to someone, lest I get assaulted by a barrage of bodies, all clamoring for one thing or the other." He grunts, grabbing another cracker from his pocket, where it seems he has stuffed a number of items from the buffet. "At least you were considerate. Something people more familiar with myself should know to do. Always" he says for noone and everyone, while turning his gaze upon you with a little less disgust. Ollo believes he might have softened the djinni up! "Go ahead and bend my ear. What does Jairo want?"

The dragon nods and shifts down to a much less confrontational form: that of a middle aged Tien man with long white hair. "I am he. And yes. Very eclectic indeed. A marriage of Yin and Yang. Honor and Deceit. Knowledge and Strength. But Yang needs Yin as doe Yin need Yang. Here the scholars require our fortunes and reputations, as we require them to provide crucial knowledge for the betterment of those who are willing to seek it" he comments obliquely, his gaze never straying away towards the other two. "Jairo is typically Yang having emerged from Yin. But you... What are you, Thaiadora Rossenvelt of the Egorian Rossenvelts? " he asks, arching an eyebrow inquisitively.

"Well, that was fun!" finally comments Vivek after five minutes of fast-pace dancing to Bailey. "How and why huh? How is beyond my ken, but why is easy: Because the current Lord of Water, Kelizandri, planted the idea in the other evil elemental lord's minds that they could imprison their good counterparts in magical gems which could then be scattered about the multiverse. So they did it, and they scattered them all away and now noone really knows where they are. I suppose there are documents that might indicate where they are. After all, there are documents that theorize how one would go about freeing all the elemental lords. But if Hshurha finds theoretical talk of how they could be freed treasonous, I can't even imagine how documents telling of where they are might be considered. Maybe, they'd be marked too..." he/she begins to muse before realizing that Bailey has no clue what's going on. "The books talking about how to release the other lords; on this plane, they would be marked with one of the old sacred symbols for the lost elemental lord of air, Ranginori the duke of thunder: a thundercloud surrounded by a wreath of lightning bolts. If you can still find any who haven't been burnt to a crisp."

Agate fumes for a minute, then looks around to see if any of the other notables are visible. Seeing Alexis unengaged, she takes the opportunity to grouse about Almoshtari and warn her about the stalker's apparent aversion to arcane casters. Invisible stalkers: Fort/Ref/Will, from strongest to weakest. They typically are excellent at flying, and have a smattering of social and infiltration skills. They value not being summoned to perform petty tasks for their summoner (I know that's not exactly something to be valued, but the quick description I have does not cover anything about anything they particularly like)

Imperial Sky Dragons: Will/Fort/Ref, from strongest to weakest. Their skillset is so varied you might as well ask "what skills does your average human have". They value pure, righteous souls, which in Tien legend they help guide along the path to accomplishing some great quest.

Bereket shrugs, and begins to reply but an inattentive waiter clumsily collides with the djinni, causing a tray of drinks to spill all over her dress. "I'm terribly sorry..." begins the waiter, a simple-looking air elemental, but she cuts him off with an irritated growl. "If you'll excuse me..." she hisses before stomping off, likely to clean herself off.

Ghassan barks more than he laughs, a curt exclamation that is as odd as his behavior, but thankfully it stops almost as soon as it starts. "The old elemental lords huh? I would take care who you ask such dangerous questions. Fortunately for you, I mean you
no ill will, and I do happen to have information for you. Ranginori, the lord of air, is trapped in the Untouchable Opal. Lysianassa, the lord of water, is trapped in the Garnet Brand. Atreia the lord of fire, is trapped in the Gasping Pearl. Finally, Sairazul, the lord of earth, is trapped in the Moaning Diamond. According to legend, there’s an intelligent book detailing how to free them from the gems. Hshurha doesn’t want that knowledge out there so she’s had her agents tracking it down for centuries, to no avail. Personally, I’m
unsure if it actually exists. It may just be a rumor. It’s such an obscure myth that even the book’s name is now lost to time."

"Indeed my friend! But if... Oh, a lovely looking humanoid without a chaperone. Excuse me!"

Wan Feng contemplates his response.

Couple things. First off, if you have played part 1 of Tyranny of the Winds, you need to tell me if you got the earth or the air boon. Second, we are approaching on the end of turn one. Start thinking of who you might approach next, you can certainly communicate in character with each other between turns as Agate did. "I see" begins Wan Feng with a definite tone of disgust, before bowing curtly to Alexis. "Well. Now the actions of the Pathfinder Society towards the Ainsi people of the Prime plane make sense. As will, no doubt, my taking leave of such base creatures, who further show neither honor nor etiquette." And without further ado, the great eastern dragon walks off.

Alrighty! Hope you had a good Thanksgiving, I have two rounds of it and I don't want to see a turkey any more. With that taken care of, let's think of round two. I'll place your icons on the side, and you can again place yourselves on the section corresponding to the people you wish to talk to. Of note, while I won't stop you from approaching someone who's already given you a "clue" so to speak, there isn't any other information that will come from that person. However, they are decidedly good faction mission candidates. Some more than others.

Soo...did Thaia blow it for me as well? For whatever it may be worth under the circumstances, I *did* introduce myself as "of the Palatine Eye" rather than the Pathfinder Society....

You blew it on your own merits. Thaia may attempt a belated Diplomacy check on her own, but the dragon is unfriendly to you all based on the choices made during part 1 of this extravaganza. You may feel like it's BS; I certainly do not think this was the best way to tie both chapters together. But it is what it is.

"What did you people do before I got here?" Thaia asks sharply of those party members nearby. "For all the contracts in Hell people, time is gold, and mine is platinum."

Thaia scowls and rushes off after the dragon.

"Wait, wait! I barely know those people!" Grrr.

She'll try to smooth things over a bit but doesn't waste time working up to a diplomacy check. Her sort of diplomacy is the kind where Facebook offers you a bunch of money for your company and if you don't sell they instead invest in driving you out of business.

She wanders the hall a bit, mingling while avoiding the gnome curator Honestly. Gnomes. At least halflings can be put to some use.

After a accidental collision with and then long drawn moments of trying to get around something that was either a traveling stage curtain or a set of haunted drapes she makes her way over to the Sylph noble, Zhalla ibnat Rathmozen, hoping for some civilized conversation. She glances around once though to make sure none of her teammates are around to mess up her chances at a lucrative, trans-planar, business venture.

"Thaiadora Rossenvelt, of the Egorian Rossenvelts, material plane, Golarion. You must be Lady Zhalla ibnat Rathmozen. It is an honor." Thaia nods in respect.

"Quite the eclectic crowd." Thaia says looking now to Mithradatha and the human-shaped sky dragon assuming Wan Feng isn't glaring at her and that they are both present and visible.

Agate makes her way to Lineji Niarndu. "Greetings, curator. I hear that you have the finest collection in this plane. I am fascinated by history myself, though most of my knowledge is only of Golarion. I was wondering in particular if you know the story of Ranginori?"

Pavo's Earth Affinity was earned in Ungrounded but Unbroken.

Pavo makes his way through the great hall after circulating through his companions. He marks the dragon-in-the-form-of-a-man as his goal, carefully smoothing his outfit and buffing his cloak pin. The knight bows reverently to the imperial dragon.

"My lord Wan Feng," he begins. "I am Pavo Sarini. If you are familiar with the name, I assure you that I have chosen a path diametrically opposed to my family and hope that you will not hold their sins against me.

"I seek your wisdom and guidance, if you would grant it, for never have I been in the presence of a noble dragon. Have you heard of the Concordance of Elements? Their agents have begun to appear in my lands, even stealing from my liege. My goal is to understand them, though, not to punish. I was sent to determine if they are friend or foe."

He then stops and listens.

If that turns out to be a dead end on Wan Feng's part, Pavo will change the subject. "Would you know of an intelligent book that contains the secret history of the good lords of the elements?"

Ollo smiles encouragingly at his companions as they fill him in on their activities before slipping off once more. This time, he seeks out the disgraced Djinn, Mithradatha. Once he spies the creature Ollo moves over to introduce himself.

Is that one of the applicable boons? I couldn't tell, I thought it was just the one earned through the first part of Tyranny. If it works, I have this one too.

"In that case, I believe I'll refrain from talking to Almoshtari," Bailey responds as Agate shares her findings. "Even after my arcane talents, she probably wouldn't like my genie heritage or abilities if she thinks we're here for 'easy power.' On that subject, though, we're running a mite low on people and I always like to talk to such exquisite creatures. Ollo, mind if I accompany you?"

Hoping his dwarf ally has no issue, the ifrit follows him to Mithradatha, looking to see if his elven master is about. "And a former political official, too," he adds as Ollo finishes. "I am just Bailey. My old name was quite stuffy, hard to pronounce as well, and has long since burnt away. It is an honor to meet so many different figures from places beyond my home."

Ollo is a few steps of when Bailey requests to join him, and he casually waves a hand over his shoulder indicating for the genie kin to follow if he wished.

Once corrected, Ollo gives both Bailey and Mithradatha a bow, saying "Me apologies, sir. I meant no slight upon yer credentials! An thank'ye fer correcting me, Bailey!"

The boon itself is non-specific (I checked to see that they were the same). Granted, I suspect it's a penalty when talking to a sky dragon.

Re:Earth Boons - This is specifically in regards to Earth Boons gained during part 1 of this series if you played it.

@Pavo: I won't have you waste a reroll on something that is pretty much going to a) piss you off, b) not contribute to what you aim to do. So, allow me to nudge you towards another one of the wonderful people here.

Wan Feng snorts with disbelief and quietly moves away from Pavo, leaving his questions unanswered. Nearby, Almoshtari snickers at the situation, its veil of beads swaying gently as it takes stock of the situation.

"I'm sure it is" replies Zhalla with a haughty smile. "Nice to see that our name reaches even the little people of Golarion. Been there once, what a chore it was. Father insisted the Mordant Spire help many a talented conjuror but all I saw was a lot of stuffiness. Thankfully, our customs are much warmer, and more welcoming of the outsider, no matter how meager their rank" she continues, opening a stylish fan to cool herself with. "Yes... Would you care for some cumulus wisp's honey? They aren't really wisps, but the nectar they make is to die for my dear. I was told the caterer might not be able to get it for this little get-together I organized here, it was almost devastating. After all, it does remind our lessers" she continues, eyeing the djinni "and those who have fanciful notions about... Everything it would seem" she continues, looking pointedly at Wan Feng "of who we are and the power we do command. Most people would laugh at the idea of power as it relates to cumulus honey" she adds, grabbing a delicate, cloud-like wafer with golden bubbles atop it and popping it into her mouth "but the ability to command rarity is... Well. I'm certain you understand."

Meanwhile, the gnome waves her hand as Agate approaches her, her orange hair waving in the many lantern's light. "Yes yes yes yes. Can you climb? The stupid elemental had to blow my kite into this here tree. Pah. Do you know that elementals who live along the borders to the other planes can acquire traits from their neighbors? Clearly this one must have originated from a place neighboring the plane of stupid self-centeredness. I know that's not a thing, although there was a treatise by Olfander J. Soderspark about the psycological traits of Hell, the Abyss, Heaven and Nirvana. Have you read any of them?"

If you want to improve how friendly she is, you can either go ahead and do some small talk with her with a diplomacy check or try and retrieve her kite in the tree with a climb check. If you want to try and get some information out of her, it'll either be diplomacy, bluff or knowledge (planes)

Mithradatha grunts. "You two are part of a select few who will still give me the time of day. Damn that elf and his rancid progeny. Still, might as well drink her booze. Come. I usually don't keep company with Ifrits, given their sire's role in all this, but I'm willing to make an exception" he says, moving towards the bar where multiple elementals mix drinks and serve them to the guests. "Avoid the Shambuhl. They like to pretend it's a quality wine. It's piss. Literally. Oh you can tell me that's not how their biology operates and that they "can't urinate" but everyone knows it deep down. That damn gnome has managed to convince people to drink fermented elemental piss."

He seems to be on rather friendly terms with the two of you.

"Perhaps I can." Surveying the tree, Agate rummages in her pouch, then gestures and mutters a few words. Her amulet glows gently, illuminating the irregular layers within it.

Casting Spider Climb, using the ability to cast one unprepared spell per day with the bonded amulet.

Ollo follows, making polite noises as Mithrandatha seems to rant on. However, he quickly checks his hand as he was reaching for a glass. "You don't say?!?" he says, astonished at the description of the drink he was about to imbibe. "Well.. I'll just stick ta my ale an' mead then.." He grabs a different glass, and gives a hesitant sniff to prove the contents before he takes a drink.

"Me thanks fer that warning!" Ollo says with a smile. "So what Elf an his Progeny be plaguing ye? Yer a nice enough fellow.. Perhaps there be some way we could assist ye?"

Ollo tries to feel out the conversation, waiting for a chance to bring up the sensitive topics he wants to learn about, but willing to help the man if he can.

OK :)

Pavo turns to the sound of amusement emanating from among the clacking beads, his expression crestfallen. "Oh. Greetings. Almoshtari?"

"I had heard that sky dragons were noble and eager to share their wisdom, but either I stumbled upon a grevious insult or I smell especially unappealing," he says with self-depreciating ruefulness. "How has your evening been so far?"

As he expected, Baiiley takes a quick liking to Mithradatha. Like Ollo, he was also looking to grab the drink but catches the warning and balks away from them, nodding in thanks. "Indeed, and it would only be fitting to help, given the fate you've just saved us from," he grins as his companion looks to aid the djinn. "I assume the elf you're referring to is Rathmozen bint Zuurmat? Sounds like a piece of work, more so if she has children. No genie, nor other being, should be held in such captivity."

The ifrit looks intrigued at the former diplomat's stance on ifrits. "'My sire's role....' That's peaked my curiosity, now. What did efreeti do to land you in this bind?"
