Game Master Sior

Thousands of years ago, a defeated order of Osirian sages sought refuge in the perilous Pillars of the Sun in central Osirian. Until recently they were presumed lost, but recent exploration has uncovered the fortress sanctum they left behind. When the PCs delve into one of its sealed halls, they find the sages’ millennia-old projects dormant but not dead.

PbP GameDay 3 Game List

Stuffs to Know:
I do put time limits on combat rounds (usually 2-3 days to get everyone's actions in), and if someone goes a week without posting and I don't have advance knowledge that they might be away, they'll likely be dropped from the table. That being said, though, the quicker everyone posts, the sooner the scenario finishes. I like to finish up scenario's in a month on PbP, but have had them last up to 3 months. A post a day for this coming GameDay will be great, but with the holidays, I'm not really expecting it.

Initiative! Same ol', same ol'. Initiative will be done in blocks. I will roll everyone's initiative, and average the critters' initiative into a single roll. The first round, whoever beats the critters will act before they do. Then the critters will act. Then it's a back and forth between party and critters.

PFS #'s! Please have your PFS# posted in your profile when submitting. I know most do, but... I like to get chronicle sheets out as soon as possible after the scenario is finished, and having them pre-filled hastens that. Of course, things can go wrong during the scenario, and that means delays, but usually it really, really helps!

Character sheets! Again, please, for the love of all that is holy, have a copy of your character sheet in your profile, or a link to it...

Quick reference stats! Please... Help me... Please have your quick references in your Race, Classes/Level, and/or Gender section of your profile, or however you like to put it. It really helps me so I don't have to keep opening up new tabs just to find out what your fortitude save was.

So, if there's any questions or comments, please, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Recruitment will stay open until the GameDay starts. This is to compensate for folks who may or may not sign up and then drop out, or forget, or change characters, or whatever. I will try to maintain a list of the primaries and alternates up to the day we start, but promise nothing!

I'm kind of curious on this one because of the tier. I'm genuinely wondering if there's going to be enough interest in the PbP community in this tier range that isn't already tied up in private games. We'll see!

Sovereign Court

I have one character currently free at this time, though should have at least one more freed by the time this starts:

Lia Galanodel - Jungle Druid 4 / Hunter 3 (available)
Baldwyn Doucas - Polearm Master 8 (almost available)
Quinn Kouniashi - Dervish Dancer 10 (may be available)

Let's give this one a shot!

I'll be using Iacobus Higgenstrom, rockstar bard 8! (I can switch out to other stuff if someone else wants to play a bard, but I am trying to do all the season 6 7-11's with him. I'm also fine with playing up if it comes to it.)

I will, of course, take whatever you want to play, Sior, but wouldn't it be fitting to to have me be Baldwyn's (one of his?) first and last GM? And yay, Lammars! I kid! Maybe! You'll always be the one who made a young woman cry with joy with your traffic cone dancing.

And I would of course love to see Iacobus in action again!

So far we have:

1. Something from Sior 7, 8, or 10
2. Iacobus Bard 8
3.
4.
5.
6.

Alt 2.

I have two characters free to play in this game. I certainly appreciate the work that goes into PbP, so thank you ahead of time.

If it's going to be Tier 10-11, I'll play Bishop a level 10 ranger (archer) and his boon companion Timber. His profile is out of date as he's played at the table since his last PbP, but I'll get him up and ready before game start.

If it's going to be tier 8-9 I'll play Ka'atib, human bard. His profile is not ready for PbP, but I'll make sure it is.

That would put us at a legal table with a pre-gen. More would always be welcome, though!

1. Something from Sior 7, 8, or 10
2. Iacobus Bard 8
3. Something from DM S depending on tier
4.
5.
6.

Sovereign Court

Dotting for interest though I doubt I have a char in range....

You can always use a pregen and apply the chronicle to an existing character when they come in range. But you wouldn't be able to play the character that's getting the chronicle credit and the pre-gen at the same time, if that makes sense.

If you want Jimmy, who's only level 4, to eventually get credit for this scenario, you can play a pre-gen. Once Jimmy hits 7th level, he'd get credit for the scenario. However, while this table is being played, Jimmy would not be able to be played at any other tables. Hope that's clear.

I have a a lot of options. So Tier 7-8 then?

Two people with options to play in either tier, one with a maybe to play in the upper tier, and only one in the lower tier level range, it could actually still go either way. I don't know how strong Sior's maybe is, though, so 2/4 so far look like lower tier, with the other half being available for any tier. Then we have an dot for interest that would have to play a pre-gen, which would be a 7, so... looking like 7-8, yep. But it can change. Still 2 weeks to see.

Grand Lodge

I have a level 7 (maybe 8 by the time this goes live) summoner who would love to join the team. This is his Alias. I haven't used him in PBP before, so his profile isn't up to date, but if I'm in the game, ill polish it up before it starts.

I don't have a character in the 10-11 range, so I will withdraw to let someone else join in if the table looks to be going that way.

Great!

1. Something from Sior 7, 8, or 10
2. Iacobus - Bard 8
3. Something from DM S depending on tier
4. Cairo - Cleric 9
5. Whitwood - Summoner 7 (maybe 8)
6.

Alt 1.
Alt 2.

Unless something changes in the next 16 days, it looks like the ones with specific characters in this range are looking at the 7-8 sub-tier. Nightdeath, if you wanted to grab a slot with a pregen, now'd be the time...

EDIT - Updated with Amazing Red's cleric

If we're playing 7-8 I'll probably bring Cairo, Cleric 9 since he's in the Scarab Sages.

Dungeon Master S, how well does your bard play with other bards? I have other characters I can bring if the need be.

Hmmm.. My bard is 8, I could totally bring him instead if we wanted even more bard action. Heh.

Sovereign Court

Apologies for my absence. Forgot that posting in recruitment threads didn't bring it up on the PbP list, hahaha.

Baldwyn is about 2/3 the way through his scenario. It's been slow going. Day Job rolls have already been done, though, so we'll see.

(Did you run the first scenario for Baldwyn? Mists of Mwangi, I believe that was. Or maybe we're thinking Silent Tide (his second played scenario)?)

I'm pretty sure it was Silent Tide I ran for Baldwyn. We'll just pretend it was his first, because, really, who even counts Mists. I mean, monkeys? Really?

Sovereign Court

Just checked. Yup, it indeed was Silent Tide what you ran for him. That was his second played session after 4 GM creds, Mists (run by Carlos, aka poundpuppy), and Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment, though that one was back when he was a Tien monk before Lantern Lodge died. I fully rebuilt before level 2 because I did not like the feel of the monk.

Looks like I'll go with Ka'atib the bard, though I can play a cleric. Either way they're both level 8. I'm good with either so I'd pick based on party need.

I'll post with Ka'atib to mark the game.

1. Something from Sior 7, 8, or 10
2. Iacobus - Bard 8
3. DM S - Bard or Cleric 8
4. Cairo - Cleric 9
5. Whitwood - Summoner 7 (maybe 8)
6.

Less than two weeks away!

I think that 2 clerics is more useful than two bards, so I'll let Iacobus take the bard.

Silver Crusade

And here he is

Dark Archive

If there is room please count me in. I have a number of characters in both 7-8 range and 10-11. I think I would like to play my druid but will wait to see what all is at the table.

Here is my character list

Ninja 7 /Bard 1 (total 8)
Inquisitor 8
Druid 8
Rogue 10
Cleric 10
Fighter 5/Living Monolith 5 (total 10)

Great, and only 10 days to go!

1. Something from Sior 7, 8, or 10
2. Iacobus - Bard 8
3. Sareth - Cleric 8
4. Cairo - Cleric 9
5. Whitwood - Summoner 7 (maybe 8)
6. Something from Skorn 8 or 10

Alt 1.
Alt 2.

Sorry guys I'm gonna have to drop out of this one. You guys will find someone in 10 days.

Dark Archive

With two (now one) clerics I will not play my cleric. I would be quite happy with either my fighter or rogue. Do we need a rogue, or does Iacobus' bard do traps and stealth? If we are low I can play the Ninja and provide similar support.

Looks like we could use an arcane, but my wizard is 12.

Sovereign Court

It seems I was not fully caught up on Baldwyn's PbP due to a random cancellation of notifications. Looks like there's just this instance to finish then the final encounter. May be done in time if you're so keen on running for him again ;-)

Oh, I was just kidding. I just recall Baldwyn since it was a unique idea at the time (he was a trendsetter!), and I'm surprised to see him still kicking around. Play what you want!

1. Something from Sior 7, 8, or 10
2. Iacobus - Bard 8
3. Sareth - Cleric 8
4. Whitwood - Summoner 7 (maybe 8)
5. Something from Skorn 8 or 10
6.

Iacobus can find traps decently well. He usually points them out for someone else to deal with. Also, he has a rank in stealth. He's not great at it though.

Basically, think of the traditional buffing bard. Iacobus is the super-powered version of that. Except rocking out as he does it.

Sovereign Court

Got the idea from a gent who's no longer a part of the Collective because A.P. kept killing his characters, hahaha.

Though... Baldwyn's having a bit of trouble with the scenario he's in. Big social scene, no party face, in Qadira while he's pretty Taldan... Not a good mix. So yeah... he just got arrested =P

Dark Archive

Its looking like 7-8. If I stay in apl that means I can bring a 7th level small Cavalier, a ninja 6, bard 1, or a low con inquisitor 8 that is sort of a glass cannon. Strangely all three of these are unusual races.

The Exchange

Grimnir is free to play.. Level 9 Dwarf Inquisitor/Hard Pipe Hitter..

Looking good!

1. Something from Sior 7, 8, or 10
2. Iacobus - Bard 8
3. Sareth - Cleric 8
4. Whitwood - Summoner 7 (maybe 8)
5. Something from Skorn 7 or 8
6. Grimnir - Inquisitor / Crackhead (?) 9

Dark Archive

My ninja bard is now busy. That means I need to play my caviler or bring a rogue 10 who is quite a beast (Yes, its possible to build a good combat rogue, despite what the boards say. :) ) . I am ok playing down IF we need a traps guy but always prefer to play in the APL range.

Happy to be on this side of the table with Grimnir. :)

The Exchange

You say that.. Wait till he steals all your crack. Then see how your doing.

It would be equally bad if he we're to get dominated. That's not likely, but 1's do happen..

Dark Archive

I totally forgot about having my druid too. Level 8 druid is also available if we go low.

The Exchange

GM can you open the discussion and gameplay threads for dotting?

Sovereign Court

Well, neither Quinn's nor Baldwyn's game seems to be ending any time soon, sadly. Odd how sometimes they go really long and other times hardly any time at all. So I will be going with Lia (Jungle Druid 4 / Hunter 3).

Grimnir Foehammer wrote:

Done!

1. Lia - Druid 4 / Hunter 3
2. Iacobus - Bard 8
3. Sareth - Cleric 8
4. Whitwood - Summoner 7 (maybe 8)
5. Something from Skorn 7 or 8 (hopefully he decides soon!)
6. Grimnir - Inquisitor / Crackhead (?) 9

Dark Archive

Its not that I was indecisive, but that I had a number of options and wanted to fill a needed roll. I shall play Raidant - a ninja 7/bard 1. I do not really have a tank or warrior type at 7-8 but with Radiant I can at least handle traps.
