Whoops. Along with some personal items the bag contains the following:

potion of barkskin, potions of cure light wounds (2), potion of feather step, scroll of entangle, scroll of gust of wind, scroll of identify, scroll of mage armor (CL 6), scroll of obscuring mist, acid, alchemist’s fire (2), holy water, smokestick, tanglefoot bags (2), thunderstone; antitoxin, sunrods (2)

The count on the CLW potions doesn't include the one you found earlier.

"Yes, the cloak is magic. It can give you a bit of extra luck sometimes when you need it." It's +1 on all saving throws, but close enough. "Oh, Janira handed us all sorts of cool stuff in her backpack! There's a bunch of scrolls here and some really useful potions. I think we should probably save most of them for emergencies, but I think she gave them to us to be used." Nixie lists them all off for the party, so that everyone one knows what was in the backpack.

Nixie looks at the carvings with interest, and clears a little of the moss away with prestidigitation, peering at them curiously. "These look old. Who do you think made them?"

The group collects itself and moves forward. Around the corner they discover a wooden plank; it’s clearly there to go across the pit. The walls here are covered in small carvings, some depicting sea life and others just small marks. All the carvings are covered in that glowing moss.

The tunnels continue on, leading deeper beneath the Kortos Mounts until they eventually open into a large cavern. What must have once been beautifully carved reliefs and inscriptions have since weathered heavily, their features dulled and softened to the point that it is hard to distinguish what each once depicted. Along with being larger and more elaborate these carvings are lacking the glowing moss present on the tunnels walls.

A wide tunnel exits the cavern on its far side, and blue-burning torches line the passage way’s walls.

I have been hemming and hawing over this all day long, and I’ve decided to leave a decision up to you guys. Your perception rolls are good enough to decipher what you need to decipher with the carvings. But it’s complex enough that I think it would take a minimum of several minutes to put it all together.

Rohini can tell that someone or something has been through here though she doesn’t know how long ago that was. Based on that you guys have two options

1. Stay here and study the carvings. I’ll give you descriptions and you can decide what to do from there.

2. Go looking for whatever came through. Whenever you decide to come back and look over the carvings I’ll give you a description. I won’t make you roll again since you already passed the checks.

Basically I don’t want to railroad you guys.

Between Nixie’s knowledge and Aislinn’s sharp eyes the group is able to decipher four of the 12 carvings on the wall; the rest are too worn to make heads or tails of. The images are very, very old and almost certainly weren’t made by the Gillmen. Holy symbols of the god Aroden repeat across the drawings.

Interestingly enough there are bits of History and Future of Humanity, the holy text of Aroden, in the carvings but they’re slightly different than normal. This place is old enough that this could be an earlier version of the text.

When Aroden walked amongst mortals he disguised himself in one of twelve forms: beggar, thief, fisherman, hunter, shepherd, farmer, soldier, merchant, tailor, craftsman, artist, and scholar. Someone carved these out in honor of those forms. The four you can understand are the hunter, scholar, beggar and soldier.

The relief of the hunter shows a man killing a giant serpentine creature and then parading its severed head through the city streets. The words The wilds are safe to inhabit once the monsters are slain are carved below it.

The relief of the scholar shows a man writing on a piece of parchment and then reading from it to a large crowd. The words Ardon smiles on those who recorded knowledge to share it with others.

The man in the relief of the beggar is depicted kneeling with an alms bowl raised high. The words All should be humble, lest they forget their shared humanity

The Soldier is depicted bearing a lantern through the streets of a city. The words The vigilant shall carry light to the darkest corners of the
world to banish the shadows.
