Rogar the Relentless |

Damage, IC, IR: 1d4 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 6
Constantin the Azlant |
Constantin grins fiercely as the redshirt is driven back, and lashes out to trip up his companion, filled with rage for the moment.
Trip at Blue: 1d20 - 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 15
I'm providing a +2 to hit and damage as well as a +1 to saves against Charm and Fear in a mix of Competence and Morale bonuses
GM Upaynao |
If only the enemy had been closer thinks Glenn to himself as he sees his dart land short of the foredeck assailant. Meanwhile, the sailor in red falls under Rogar and Ivar's combined might as her companion falls flat on the deck of the ship.
"Curse you!" cries out the crossbowman as he shoots at Ivar again.
Crossbow vs Ivar: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Damage!: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Fortunately, his aim does not have seem to have improved under duress. Meanwhile, the remaining sailor takes a defensive posture before rising back up. AoOs please!

Khāṇa FINALLY gets enough control of her axe to plow it into her opponent instead of his ship!
She strikes again!
masterwork greataxe, flank, rage, courage vs Blue: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
"Delicious!" She hisses in his ear as some of his blood flies into her mouth.
She pauses for a moment as she pulls herself upright, as if considering.
"Well, it's alright. Full-bodied and crisp, with apricot and shellfish notes on the nose...."
Rogar the Relentless |
With the sailors finally down, Rogar climbs op onto the bow of the ship.
I'm assuming the lighter rectangle is a ladder. Double move.
On his way he orders Ivar to guard Constantin.
Aquavius |
"Well, that's two down." Aquavius blinks long enough to not get blinded by the sailor's blood. "Last chance, buddy. Once we get started, we don't stop! YOU WANNA PIECE OF THIS!"
I assume Khāṇa finished off the sailor. Move and Intimidate.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Aquavius continues and hoists her trident, ready for a toss.
Krolmnite Quissabom |
Krolmnite moves forward as he aims his earth blast at the sailor on the aft castle.

Constantin the Azlant |
Constantin calms himself and advances, focusing on his foe to fuddle this fearsome fusilier. Daze Will DC 13 at the crossbowman, dropping out of Inspire Rage, ceasing Inspire Courage, so my bonuses are down to a +1 morale to hit and damage
GM Upaynao |
Ruovarn looks shaken by the death of both his crew. He clearly wasn't ready for that amount of bloodthirst, as he gets blasted by Krolmnite's earthen projection.
Upon tasting the blood, Khana realizes there is a darker undertone. Like clotted blood, cold, oozing. These sailors are not what they appear to be.

GM Upaynao |
Khana realizes that these people may be Khaptapeshi by origin, but they are definitely Dhampir by birth; a trait that explains the rapidly souring blood in her mouth.
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
"...and some very harsh mineral tones balanced out slightly by moderate texture. These must have been Dhampir! A bit of a shame to rid the world of such a rare breed."
Trixalana |
Trix rushes toward the remaining enemy and takes aim with her crossbow, letting the bolt fly, but she is too concerned about possibly hitting Rogar and her aim may be off...
Attack: 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (14) + 2 - 4 = 12
Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
GM Upaynao |
Ruovarn hurries to drop his crossbow and draw his own blade, but not before Rogar has managed to get atop the foredeck. "You'll pay for this scum" he hisses as he lunges forward.

Her trident donks against the door to the Captain's Quarters. She shrugs and pulls out her longbow. "Now then, hmm..."
"Arrrr, the great pirate queen will claim yer soul, but I'm merciful! One last chance to surrender with your life! Or you can sink to the bottom of the sea!"

Krolmnite Quissabom |
Krolmnite feeling the battle is won, turns to the downed sailor in red and begins riffling through his pockets. Yelling up at he deck boss.
Might as well surrender, 8 to 1, I don't like your odds!
Then mumbles under his breath, I bet, this guy doesn't have jackcrap.

GM Upaynao |
Even with the advantage that elevation give him, the leader of this sailor trio dies; and while it is Rogar's waraxe that finally silences him, the blood loos from Khana's greataxe blow (an attack that took off his leg) would have done him in quickly.
Going through the bodies, only the leader seems to have been carrying anything of interest beyond their weapons and armor: a potion, a couple of thunderstones and a tanglefoot bag.
Unless you are really in need of a scimitar, leather-related armor, rapiers or a crossbow, I'm going to gloss over this.
2d4 ⇒ (3, 3) = 61d6 ⇒ 3
In the distance, you hear the distinctive whistle of the town guard. However it is sufficiently distant you believe yourselves to have a couple minutes to look about, provided you do so promptly.
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
Important Note: Khāṇa has the Scent ability, so bear that in mind, DM, should it ever prove relevant.
Khāṇa sets to searching the ship as thoroughly as she is able.
Inspired Perception: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (13) + 8 + (4) = 25
Aquavius |
"Hahaha! Good job, me mateys! Now let's raise sail, put the winds to our backs, and-"
Aquavius hears the town guard and seems to snap out of some kind of trance.
"I mean, let's look for some evidence and hightail it before they find us." She takes a chance to cast message on the party members.
Aquavius inspects the potion...
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
"No idea what this is."
and then takes a look around the ship.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Krolmnite Quissabom |
Krolmnite searches around as well.
I bet we can search this ship before those guards show up. Or perhaps chuck the bodies overboard and hide below decks.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
GM Upaynao |
As Aquavius attempts to identify the potion, Khana can smell the pungent odor of unwashed bodies in close proximity to one another, emanating from a cleverly disguised trap door leading below. Krolmnite meanwhile, makes his suggestions from the doorway to the captain's quarters, where he spots a small pile of rather interesting looking paperwork; bills of sale, for human cargo... And that is only the tip of the iceberg. But to delve in further, Krolmnite would have to step into the cabin.
Krolmnite Quissabom |
Oh baited into a trap!
Krolmnite heads right in to examine the what's in the captain's quarters!
Oh I bet this will tell us something!
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
Khāṇa opens up the trap-door.
"Slave traders? In the heart of Andoran??? HA! A fine bargaining chip if the local guards come to bother us! Perhaps they'll give us a medal...."
Rogar the Relentless |
Rogar gives the "cargo" a solemn look before jumping down and trying to free the slaves.
He has a skeleton key and will try to unlock as many shackles as he has time for.
Aquavius |
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
Aquavius takes a look in the captain's quarters. "Cargo, sales...what's inside?" She shrugs and wanders right in.
Constantin the Azlant |
Constantin will go with Rogar into the slave hold.
These captives will need comforting and curatives.
GM Upaynao |
Unlocking and opening the cargo hold is easy, and from within, the desperate gazes of a throng of people in scuffed fancy clothing greets you. "Help us kind folk! Please have mercy on us! Listen to your hearts and do not deprive us of our freedom!"
Stepping into the captain's quarters, it becomes easy enough to search through the paperwork. Beyond the receipts for the sale of slaves in distant Katapesh, the trio finds a very interesting letter.
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
Khāṇa did not expect the cargo's attire to be so upscale. Slaves are not typically taken from among the rich....
"Um...where did they pick you up?"
Aquavius |
"Hey. The guards will be here soon to get you ." Aquavius scratches the back of her head. "Did you hear anything about where your captors came from? Where did you come from, anyway?"
Diplomacy (via Versatile Performance): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
Constantin the Azlant |
This paper provides a paucity of proof of Ouidda's pretense, but if we can ascertain her other arachnid activities, this arrogance will assuredly anger the abolitionist Almans.
Khana, can you circumbent these chains?
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
Khāṇa blinks. "What? Oh, of course. Gods forbid a single chain remain locked in glorious Andoran...!"
Disable Device: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
Aquavius |
"Hey hey, we'll have you out of here in a bit. She's as good with lockpicks as she is with the axe."
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Aquavius can't help but snort at Khāṇa's antics.
Krolmnite Quissabom |
Trixalana, I bet this is important, I couldn't agree more!
Krolmnite folds up the paper and secures it in his inner vest pocket.
Come out of the hold, he looks around for the port authority.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (17) + 10 = 27
He mentions to the others, There are plenty of slavers papers in there, I've got the best of them here. He taps his vest.
GM Upaynao |
As the guards approach the boat at a brisk trot, Khana's axe makes short work of the chains keeping the slaves here. They all claim to be actors, or would-be actors who were somehow drugged or magically bewitched. "My last play, as well as that of good Rashtu here was at The Captive Audience. I can't say I quite remember what happened between the curtain's fall and now, but I am no slave!" exclaims one of them, quickly joined in assent by all of the dozen or so captives, who join in, claiming that they were also abducted from the same theater. As guard and would-be slave arrive on deck, the one named Rastu continues: "I do not know who is responsible for this beyond the ... creatures you have dispatched, but I did hear them speaking of a person known as the Spider as if they were leading the entire enterprise." Another continues: "We are all in your debt. Is there anything we can do for you?" as the sergeant looks about for the "Pathfinder in charge of this mess".
Krolmnite Quissabom |
Oh mister sergeant, I bet you want to talk to Aquavius or maybe Constantin.
Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Constantin the Azlant |
Greetings gendarmes! The Society has stopped the scurrilous sins of this slaver. The enthralled escapees will explain that they are entertainers, but the bonds that held them below will belie that bunch of bilk. If you allow us to, we will ascertain which arcane anathema assails them.
Diplomacy take-10 including Krolm's aid: 10 + 8 + 1 + 2 = 21
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
Khāṇa tries to figure these poor silly people out (maybe with a bit of practice, she'll eventually be able to figure out Constantin)....
Sense Motive on slaves/actors: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Aquavius |
Another continues: "We are all in your debt. Is there anything we can do for you?" as the sergeant looks about for the "Pathfinder in charge of this mess".
"Yeah. When the guards arrive, tell them the Pathfinders saved ya. Also, if you know where The Captive Audience is that would be great."
Aquavius turns to the guards. Huh, they haven't accused me of piracy yet. Times are changin'. She shrugs as Constantin explains things in his own special way.
"Like he said. We found some slaves on this ship, the crew wanted to keep it quiet so they tried to kill us." She glances at the corpses. "With some serviceable self-defense, we killed them and freed these captives. They'll vouch for us."
Diplomacy(Aid) via Versatile Performance: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
She raises her eyebrows and smirks. "So, we done here?"
GM Upaynao |
Khana can sense the palpable anger of these actors. With little coaxing, perhaps they could even testify on the Society's behalf. The Andoren might not like the idea that the Spider consorts or benefits from slavery.
"Oh we will chimes" in the first actor, who turns to the sergeant as he opens his mouth to reply to Constantin. "I daresay these people are heroes! In slave chains? Me? I'll have you know that the crowds of Oppara clamor my name adoringly! And these rescuers are harassed by our would-be protectors? Our failing would-be protectors?!?! This is intolerable! I demand to see your superior! We demand to..."
The adjutant takes Constantin aside. "If these are slavers, just give me what proof you have of that and you'll be free to go. Just give us a point of contact, the name of the place you are staying at. Unless you are staying at your Lodge."
Constantin the Azlant |
Constantin will show the adjutant the slaver's documents, and inform him that he is in fact staying at the Lodge, but, I do request that we reserve our right to retain these records. These slavers signify other shadows to seek out in this stronghold of self-rule.
Khāṇa Tsogtsos |
Khāṇa addresses the actors. "Since you mention it, one thing you could do for us is testify to the Andoran courts. Simple enough, right? It appears we have a common problem - and its name is Spider."
I said that so the rest of the party could hear it, just to be clear - if a Diplomacy check is called for here, I really hope somebody else can make it.
