Ushi, did I miss your Knowledge check roll?
Take 10, unless I can't.

Gotcha! I simply didn't see that. And yes, you can.

Where did the reference to green fire come from?

This post from a page or so back now.

Thanks.

Which color is Thing 1, and which is Thing 2?
Glastor Gilderhoff III |
Reminder -- Starting tomorrow I will be in Seattle.
I'll post as often as I can... but will also have spoilered actions for if I need to be botted.
Of note, he will be blessing, bit of lucking, and healing WAY before attacking. :D
GM Dinketry |
Thing 1 (dark green) has just attacked Bolty. Thing 2 (light green) has yet to act.
We won't grumble or hold Glastor in contempt for attending PaizoCon while the rest of us slave away. No, not at all....HAVE FUN.
Ushi Goroshi |
Starting tomorrow I will be at Disneyland, but I don't expect it to interfere with my posting. Then next week I'm at Phoenix Comicon, and similar. Then the next week I'm at Disneyworld. Just in case you had contempt to spare. :)
GM Dinketry |
Ok folks, you've completed Constellation. If you haven't seen it yet, I've been keeping tally of the various scenes in the Campaign Info tab. What say we infiltrate a Calligraphy School?
If you're interested in dropping out, please let me know and I'll cut you a chronicle sheet.
Cheers,
Dink
Mongo DePon |
Calligraphy school sounds good to me. I'm still in.
Glastor Gilderhoff III |
I am in.... as an FYI I will be playing through the set a week from today, but I am having fun now!
L'Mont Penumberton |
Are you kidding? L'Mont has been begging for this quest since the beginning. I can't wait to see how he falls on his face this time!
L'Mont Penumberton |
Sorry to have been absent - jammed at work - will post later this afternoon (UTC -06:00).
GM Dinketry |
There's no combat going on, so if people are delayed at posting, it's no big deal. We will try to advance the story as we can, but I understand that many of you (Ushi, Luwei, Glastor) are preoccupied. Jealous as all hell, that's what I am.

I submitted my GenCon wishlist at noon Eastern on the dot. Now I'm just watching the beachball spin...

Feng Luwei |
It was very clearly a bluff to distract from his question. He never asked for an introduction before being insulting, either not seeing Luwei or pretending she didn't exist. She is understandably angry at the master's condescension, but using that anger to distract, not intimidate.
As for Tien, it was a mistake, but others are interpreting. Why didn't you just assume it was in Tien? Spoilers are fun if you actually use google translate for Tien-looking words. Spoilers for the sake of spoilers is just frustrating to read and more difficult to type on mobile.
Ushi Goroshi |
I should have said something as well instead of waiting to see what happened. My bad.
L'Mont Penumberton |
Sorry for the delay, gang - the Paizo site was down for a while this morning when I had the chance to check in & post, and now that it's back up I'm jammed at work for the next several hours.
GM Dinketry |
L'Mont jumped 15 feet from the roof to the ground. That's two 10 foot increments. Even though the 5 feet is not a full increment, you'd still count that as an increment if you were calculating, say distance for a missile weapon past your initial range increment. That rounds up. L'Mont jumped and made his Acrobatics check, ignoring the first 10 feet of falling damage. He also converted the second 10 feet of falling damage to non-lethal damage per the RAW. The rules state that if you take lethal damage from a fall, you land prone. It does not say the same for non-lethal damage, and since L'Mont jumped, I'm ruling he lands on his feet.
Glastor jumped as well, but from a lower height, closer to 10 feet. I'm ruling here that he lowered himself the 2 feet off the edge of the wall before dropping, giving him only a single 10 foot increment to deal with. Unfortunately, he failed his Acrobatics check (spectacularly), but he jumped. The RAW again state that if you jump, the first 10 feet is non-lethal damage. Glastor did not take lethal damage from falling, so again, he lands on his feet as well.
Ta-da.
Glastor Gilderhoff III |
Ah, now I see the line in the falling rules... how did I miss that before?
Cool!
L'Mont Penumberton |
A great reminder for me that a really cool move can still be a complete waste. Ugh ugh ugh.
GM Dinketry |
L'Mont, you can make it up the rope the 7.5 feet to the window ledge with a successful Climb check, if you choose to do so. And I really liked your crazy dramatic move. Always appreciated.
L'Mont Penumberton |
Thanks - and that's what he'll do.
Also, in my head I am now writing a parody of Pat Benatar's "My Clone Sleeps Alone" in honor of Glastor, to be titled "Our Gnome Sneaks Alone."
GM Dinketry |
You just make it to the window sill at the end of the round with that roll, L'Mont. No time for anything else.
GM Dinketry |
Just FYI folks, there's a game mechanic in play in this sequence (as per the scenario) that I'm happy to explain once the sequence resolves - it's an alternative to typical chase rules. You're doing just fine, if some non-specific encouragement would be helpful at this time.
Huzzah!
L'Mont Penumberton |
Thanks. I'm not entirely sure where the stairs are on the map so if you want to move my token to wherever L'Mont can get (as close as possible to Glastor and Jianghong), that would be a help.
GM Dinketry |
There's no real map of the interior of the building, but we can estimate that you're at the top of the stairs in question, and your ally is speaking to the person in question at the bottom of that flight of stairs. (It's not a straight stairway, but a zig-zag)
GM Dinketry |
Luwei, are you taking a double move to get to the exit of the building? If you could please update your position on the map, that could answer my question as well.
Also, are you attempting to use stealth as you move, or any other relevant skill?
GM Dinketry |
It looks like you took a double move action, as your speed is 30, unless I'm mistaken?
No time for a readied action if that's the case.
GM Dinketry |
You have now completed 4 of the 5 scenes in the House of Harmonious Wisdom series. I'll get scene 5 set up and started, but I wanted to give any the chance to opt out of the last scene. Let me know ASAP what your plans are and we'll start it toute de suite.
Glastor Gilderhoff III |
Good to go!
Ushi Goroshi |
Ushi is ready to complete the mission. I'm back from Disney and only have job searching on my plate to distract me. :)
