You are in Absalom, the mighty City at the Center of the World, and you’ve always longed to explore one of the countless ruins of failed conquerors that litter the plains outside the city’s walls.
You’ve heard rumors that one of the sealed siege castles has been laid open by a minor earthquake. Word on the street is that no one has yet entered the tower, which folks are calling the “Fallen Fortress.” What better way to start a life of excitement and adventure than by exploring its long-abandoned, dusty halls and perhaps claiming its ancient treasures?
There is a notice on a bulletin board inside the Grand Lodge that a wealthy historian wishes to hire a group of 6 adventurers to go to this "Fallen Fortress" and retrieve any artifacts that may be found there. If there is any, they should be turned in to him at the local museum where he is the curator.
This is where everyone will meet and once everyone shows up, you will go out into the Cairnlands to explore. So introduce yourselves. :)

too early to introduce my character?

A fair skinned, brown haired, blue cloaked male carrying a boar spear walks into the Grand Lodge headquarters. He is seen reading the bulletin board observing the notice about a Fallen Fortress. Passers by notice his celestial demeanor but wonder if he is a cleric or an oracle, or something else entirely.

Lily arrives and looks at the noticeboard with interest. She wonders if the Fallen Fortress has been reclaimed by nature yet, and resolves to check it out at some point.

We want to go to the fortress too. Says a crude man who is caressing a wolf.
He looks aged by the sun and, by the many weapons he wears in his backpack is easy to conclude he´s not afraid of some fighting.

I´ve been a bit bored since the time my training finished, and wouldn´t mind to start doing some jobs for the Society


Now that the party has gathered, they all head out toward the fortress. A few hours from the city walls they approach the fortress. The ruined siege castle now being called the Fallen Fortress rises out of the churned earth of the Cairnlands. No doors or windows mar the otherwise smooth expanse of the tower’s walls. The tower is quatrefoil in plan; its eastern wing has largely collapsed, exposing the interior floors to the open air. Only the topmost level seems whole, though its eastern portion hangs precariously over the mountain of rubble left by the collapse. At ground level, the rubble frames a gaping hole in the side of the building that provides access to the tower’s darkened interior. The tower is 80 ft tall. As the party approaches the tower, they hear howling from the north.

Lets help them, Colmillo Shouts Jhon as he runs to the wolfs. With an upward arc he attacks the wolf who as bitten Wyrgan trying to kill it:

Unsure if anything is still standing, Lily shifts back to her normal size, before moving forward and slashing with her Greatsword.

With everyone attacking, the rest of the wild dogs fall under swords and bite. End of combat! Closing in to tower, the party sees the 1st floor south wing is entirely filled with rubble so that they can't go into it. However, they can also enter the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors...DC 15 Climb check to climb to each new floor unless you have a rope, then it will be DC 10.
Also, there is no light in the rooms that are not exposed to the outside.
So, what shall you choose to do?

Lily casts Light on herself before climbing with a coil of rope around her so she can lower it down to less able climbers on the team.

Ok, if this works I can help others to go up. Sais Jhon as he ties Colmillo with his own rope. Then he proceed to climb up, and tried to raise up the wolf.

On the first floor, the south room is too filled with rubble to go through it but the north room was clear enough to walk through it to the west room.

As the party gets up to the second floor, they see two closed doors, one to the north room and one to the south room.

"Wait," Talonwile says. "Stand back from the door and let me open it."
Talonwile uses Open/Close to open the door. That way, no front-liners need to use an action, and they can be ready to act immediately.

Jhon waits until the sorcerer had finished, and then, feeling more confident due a blessing of an unknown god, he opens the door.


As the door opens, the light from Lily shows a room that must have been used as a storeroom at one point, though its contents have long since succumbed to the passage of time. A crack in the northern wall has apparently let in some rainwater, which has collected in a large puddle on the floor. It also shows a dog-sized lizard that has two horns, one on either side of its head, and green scales that crackle with sparks of lightning approaching the group eagerly.

Lily reacts quicker than her companions, drawing her sword and attempting to remember anything about the creature. Calling on Jhon to make an attack and then stand aside, Lily waits until her instructions are carried out before crossing the room and striking at the lizard.

Standard Attack Damage: 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2) + 4 = 8
If Party prefers the enlarge option then: 3d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 3, 5) + 6 = 20

If thats not clear I'm expecting Jhon to attack, and then move away for Lily to take his now open square and attack it. Alternatively, if people wish they can move back and give Lily the room to Enlarge and potentially one shot this lizard, but thats up to what everyone wants. Assume she communicates all of these possible options to everyone.

@Jhon: You can't move and then make a 5 ft step in the same round. I made it so the bite can still land, though.

Wyrgan draws his crossbow and moves to the side.
Lily draws her weapon and waits until Jhon moves.
Talonwile points at the lizard and fire flew from his fingertips scoring its hide.
Jhon slashes at the lizard but the lizard moves away from his sword. Then Colmillo bites at the lizard from around the door jam and takes a bite out of the lizard.
