Chosen benefits:
• Recover one or more spells or spell slots whose total levels are equal to your character level.
• Heal 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6 hit points. Add your character level to the number of hit points recovered.
"Who was the gargantuan woman? Where are we? Why those bastards are calling us bastards?"
Very confused, Ptolomeo starts to look to his teammates, as if he was questioning them "what are we supposed to do in this place?"
Seeing that Agirran is trying to intimidate those people, the dwarf aid him with a orison. (Guidance: +1 on the skill check for you, @Agirran)
Anyway, he holds on tight his battleaxe in hands, prepared to attack anyone who daring to challenge him at that time.

Let's continue now that everyone has posted
The crowed grows more and more fearful of the giant apache helicopter warrior and flees, leaving you all alone in the now deserted town.
You catch your breath when a familiar figure limps out from between two buildings. The weight of years seems to hang over Kreighton Shaine, the Pathfinder Society’s illustrious Master of Scrolls, his face more deeply lined than it was this morning.
“My apologies for not reaching you more quickly, but I have been quite distracted,” he pants. To the left and right across the ancient marketplace, other versions of Kreighton Shaine are speaking to other, equally bewildered Pathfinders. “It seems redundant to say so at this point, but the Harbingers of Fate have seized control of the Sky Key, and we all appear to be trapped in what the Isle of Kortos used to be eons ago. The same sort of temporal bubble that brought the serpentfolk city of Sessegishoss to us now keeps our forces pinned down here."
“We are attempting to uncover the Sky Key Vault now. While the vault itself seems to be here in this time period, our entrance to it wasn’t projected back, and we’ve lost our bearings relative to its location in this new landscape. What’s more, I worry simply reclaiming the Sky Key will not be enough to allow our escape— that green surge we all witnessed seems to have invested many of the Harbingers with enough of the Sky Key’s energy to maintain our chronological exile.”
Shaine looks worriedly up at the sky. “We will need to work together to uncover the vault and cut the tethers that anchor this time period to the Harbingers’ spellcasters. We must do both so we can use the Sky Key to escape.” A crack of thunder sounds overhead as the dome of green light twists and arcs down to the surface with a thunderous crash, and strange, hairy beasts stride where it struck. “And we would be wise to move quickly.”
Shaine distributes a single potion of cure light wounds to each of you before waiting a little for the eventual questions you may have.
Kyran Strongbow |
"Who in Nine Hells are the Harbingers of Fate?" asks Kyran.
"And what, exactly, are you asking us to do? Also, why are there,so many of you? Something to do with time that's going to make my head hurt?"
Agirran, Lil' Fury |
"Who in Nine Hells are the Harbingers of Fate?" asks Kyran.
"And what, exactly, are you asking us to do? Also, why are there,so many of you? Something to do with time that's going to make my head hurt?"
"The sods we're out to whoop; go get the hedge clippers back from the neighbors; and it's just me man, Agirran." The magically tall boy with Agirran's gear smiles down criminally. "And if you're worried about hurtin' yer head." He points up into the sky at the comet that is about to slam into the planet in general, and them specifically.
"Oh! You were talkin' to Poindexter here." He says in the feigned ignorance of a school bully or someone with a charisma score of 7. "Well keep talkin' but...." He points toward the plaza sundial. "Time."
He turns to Shaine. "So Poindexter, did I hammer all the nails?"
GM Zinou |
Referring to the last question of Kyran, Shaine raises an eyebrow.
"Oh? Oh, this. It’s part of a rather questionable ritual I uncovered and performed in the Grand Lodge several years ago. It allows me to repeat a recent period in time so long as I do so close to Absalom. The eldritch power appears to function across time, but I have thus far been unable to extend its benefits to anyone else. Certainly hope there are no unspeakable consequences for it..."
Then, for the other questions he just shrugs.
"Well, we'll have to uncover the Sky Key Vault and kill the harbringer. You know, those who made us rewind further in time, casting big lightning spells..."
He gets more serious and states
"On the matter on how to find the vault, I’m not sure, as it’s made of steel and sky metals, but also buried approximately 30 feet beneath the earth, which shields it from most of our available divinations. I remain open to suggestions. The Sky Key Vault is a small complex the Society built beneath the Bloodwatered Meadow to protect the Sky Key and support its auxiliary machinery. It was transported into the past along with us, but it looks like its entrance was not. However, as I said before, I shall accompany you on the quest."
This part is quite opened on how you wish to uncover the vault. You may try and roll an appropriate check.
Tenibri |
Tenibri looks from the giant boy, to the many copies of Shaine, to the approaching doom in the sky, to the Azlanti people and architecture all around, and can barely seem to hold it together as he tries to process it all.
"Agirran? I get enlarge, I have that spell too, but what...? And...?"
He buries his face in his hands and screams some words into his palms, pressed in tight to his face so nobody can hear. He waits a moment and just breathes, then emerges having settled something with himself.
"No matter. We have to focus and figure this out, or we're all doomed. How long do we have until Earthfall? Earthfall...." He sighs with a slight whimper and looks at the buildings around, thinking of all the knowledge that must be held within. "Oh, if only we could bring something back...."
He shakes his head and looks to Shane. "So we have to find the Sky Key, and find a way to 'disconnect' it from these Harbingers? There must be a way." He steeples his fingers together, placing the peak at his middle fingers against his scalp, moving his lips against his pressed thumbs as he speaks silently to himself.
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 (to find a way to locate the Sky Key)
Knowledge (arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 (to uncover a way to break the connection to the green miasma)
Ptolomeo |
"Bloodwatered Meadow you said? Where is this place?", Ptolomeo asks Kreighton Shaine, trying to think in something useful.
Dewdrop Neething |
Dewdrop considers what she knows of nature, and looks for land that might have been disturbed or out of place, or that animals might avoid due to weird arcane resonance.
Will that work?
Knowledge(nature): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
She smiles up at Kreighton Shane. "So you'll cast mighty spells for us? Why do you even need us, then? We're just starting out?"
Forgrim Steelgreaves |
Looking around, Forgrim try to concentrated on the problem but can't seem to focus because of one question always seem to distract him. He tries to push it down, but it just doesn't want to go away! Finally, giving up on the idea of not asking it, Forgrim turn to the source of the question.
"How tha bloody hell did ye git yenger all tha sudden?!?"
Feeling has if a weight have been removed after asking Agirran the question, Forgrim finaly feel like he can work the problem at hand.
"We seem ta be stuck under a dome, did anyone think of lookin' at tha center of tha thin'?"
Trying to find some sense of the area, Forgrim tries to estimate where that would be.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
I doudt it would help, but I do have stonecunning which provide a +2
GM Zinou |
Please note that we received an Aid Token, see the discussion thread. :)
Shaine's simulacre answers Dewdrop. "Yes, well no. I don't have all the ressources the original has. I shall you in time of need."
He then turns to Ptolomeo "On our plane. But we have to figure out a way to back track it from here. We must find the link."
Forgrim, Dewdrop and Tenibri try to know where you are and lead the party in a good direction. Earning one success :)
Another instance of Kreighton Shaine appears and directs your party to help elsewhere while he gathers other Pathfinder to begin excavating an entrance using magic and summoned creatures.
As you travel further into the city, an arc of green lightning gathers above and crashes to the surface, leaving something bizarre in its wake. The indistinct mass regroups into a blob of protoplasm somewhat transparent, allowing the bones of undigested meals and a dark nucleus to be seen within.
Agirran: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Dewdrop: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Forgrim: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (13) + 0 = 13

I'm assuming that Ptolomeo was at the frontline, where I said that he would stay...
Ptolomeo charges against the... strange creature.
battleaxe + charge: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 91d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
AC for this round: 14.
Agirran, Lil' Fury |
"Dammit Corker! Why in the Nine Hells are you always in my way, plugging s!$# up!" Bellows the still pretty tall kid.
Greataxe in one hand, a finger extended and rudely pointing from the other, Agirran the brat shouts: "रुक!"
ray of frost v someone's evil lunch (ranged touch, in traffic): 1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 2 - 4 = 9 cold damage: 1d3 ⇒ 1
Kyran Strongbow |
"Yeah," agrees Kyran drily. "It's mighty inconvenient when somebody's big pasty white backside blocks your shot."
Declare Freebooter's Bane on the blob. Everyone within 30' gets +1 to hit and +1 to damage the blob.
GM Mars |
Pathfinders have found and uncovered the Sky Key Vault. It is there that the Sky Key—the Society’s ticket home—awaits. However, the dome of green energy remains strong, suggesting that too many Harbinger spellcasters are still anchoring the Society in this time period.
GMs, it is now possible to gain Vault successes. Map is also updated.
Kyran Strongbow |
Kyran scoots and shoots.
Longbow, Precise Shot, Freebooter's Bane and Point-Blank Shot: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 91d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 + 1 = 8
Everyone within 30' gets +1 to hit and +1 to damage the blob.
Forgrim Steelgreaves |
Moving forward, Forgrim get behind Ptolomeo and touch his back.
"I got yer back"
3/6 Touch of Good
Touch of Good (Sp): You can touch a creature as a standard action, granting a sacred bonus on attack rolls, skill checks, ability checks, and saving throws equal to half your cleric level (minimum 1) for 1 round.
Tenibri |
Tenibri looks equally fascinated as he is alarmed by this blobby creature that is attacking the party. He moves a little closer to get a better view for targeting. Calling upon the arcane energy surrounding him, he slings a ball of acid at the foe.
Ranged Touch Attack, into melee: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (15) + 3 - 4 = 14
Damage, acid: 1d3 ⇒ 2
Ptolomeo |
"What?!, screamed Ptolomeo, "you tried to eat me? So, eat this!", then he strikes the creature with a heavy blow of his battleaxe.
battleaxe + touch of good + Freebooter's Bane: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 191d8 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Dewdrop Neething |
Being something of a one-trick pony gnome, Dewdrop fires another blast of air while trying not to gag at the disgusting sight.
ranged-into melee+fbb: 1d20 + 4 - 4 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 4 - 4 + 1 = 6
bludgeon+fbb: 1d6 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 1 = 13
Forgrim Steelgreaves |
Keeping a eye in the sky, Forgrim feel kinda vulnerable without a solid stone roof above him.
"Let's move ta tha vault and secure tha place."
Not that a few feet of stone would protect anyone from That!!
Tenibri |
"I think I would be more helpful trying to help fight these Harbingers, and breaking their hold via this green miasma, but I'll not split from this group. I'll go to the vault if that's what's best."
GM Zinou |
Sorry, I couldn't post yesterday. Work was crazy.
Built to house and protect the Sky Key and its support mechanisms while in use, the vault consists primarily of devices that contain and channel the electricity generated both by spellcasters above and by the Society’s maintenance crew in the vault itself.
Veins of strange metal line the walls of this massive chamber. Enormous bronze devices connected to the walls by massive cables spark and spew steam, almost obscuring the large vault door at the far end of the room. The door is labeled with a single word in a plethora of languages: danger. Stagnant water collects at the bottom of a ten-foot wide pool in the middle of the room. A gasping, bleeding elf who looks like an aged version of Kreighton Shane lies across the room.
Two of the Harbingers of Fate and their conjured lightning elemental remain in this room to fend off any invaders. As soon as they catch a glimpse of you, they attack!
Agirran: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Dewdrop: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Forgrim: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

Tenibri, standing at the back of the group, calls to his companions. "I can't see! Move out of the corridor, please. What's happening?"
He contemplates his action, knowing that he doesn't want to enlarge someone who's trapped in a corridor again.
Waiting for others to post before he acts.
Tenibri |
As far as I can tell, Tenibri (and maybe Dewdrop) is the only one restricted from moving. You can move through an ally's square; you just can't end there. Tenibri has 20' speed, so has to wait. The rest of you can all shuffle through each other. :)
Agirran, Lil' Fury |

Yeah, but I want to know where Shane is so I know where to move too.
"Dang it Corker! Are all a dwarves a slow as you?!" *Kick, kick, prod, prod!*
Kyran Strongbow |
Kyran hustles past his companions and enters the room, designating one of the Harbingers as his target.
"All eyes on the elemental," he says. "Take him down quick, lads, quick!"
Move. Declare Freebooter's Bane on the elemental.
Freebooter's Bane: All Allies within 30' gain +1 to hit and damage against the elemental.
Kyran Strongbow |
I do have a ranger named Fletch.
"Shoot stuff 'til it stops moving?" says the ranger.
Thinking that perhaps more planning is better, he says "Let their casters duel ours while we nail the elemental. Then we'll systematically move through the casters."
Ptolomeo |
Ptolomeo says some words in dwarven, and the young Agirran feels a strange power growing inside him.
Ptomoleo used the Fury hex on @Agirran.
Then the shaman moves to the same corner that his fellows are.
"Good plan! Attack everybody. I'm with you!", Ptolomeo agreed
Tenibri |
Tenibri moves forward to the top of the stairs, where he takes in the situation in the room. (move action) Not wanting to get trapped in a tight corridor again, the wayang swiftly moves out into the room. (guess it’s going to be a double move action this round)
Dewdrop Neething |
Dewdrop screws up her face in determination as she hustles down the stairs on short legs. She barely has time to throw a quick blast of air at the nearest opponent (green), but her haste makes her sloppy.
ranged: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
dmg: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
GM Zinou |
Ptolomeo buffs Agirran, Tenibri spends his round going down the stairs while Dewdrop misses her blow.
The two harbringers move together and while one spends all his round moving, the other tries to attack Tenibri! His blow connects, opening a deeping wound on the wayang's shoulder, sending him to unconsciousness.
Meanwhile, the elemental of electricity flies over to Agirran and tries a sneaky trick to weaken his knees and successfully trips him! Provoking an AoO from Agirran
Red vs Tenibri: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14

Seeing everyone rush pass him to get in the room, Forgrim knew there was trouble before he even heard the sound of battle. Now coming down the stair and seeing Tenibri bleeding on the floor, he can't help but mutter a curse.
Then getting in front of Dewdrop to offer her some protection, he cast a spell to prevent any further blood loss from the wayang.
"Hang in thar little buddy, I got ye"
Casting Stabilize
School conjuration (healing); Level cleric 0, druid 0
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Target one living creature
Duration instantaneous
Saving Throw: Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance: yes (harmless)
Upon casting this spell, you target a living creature that has –1 or fewer hit points. That creature is automatically stabilized and does not lose any further hit points. If the creature later takes damage, it continues dying normally.
Kyran Strongbow |
Longbow+Freebooter's Bane + Point-Blank Shot+Deadeye Shot: 1d20 + 4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 + 1 + 1 = 231d8 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 = 6
"Pour it on, boys!" shouts Kyran. "This whole area is going to be at the bottom of the sea by lunch time!"
Kyran shoots the elemental and grabs another arrow from his quiver.
Freebooter's Bane: All Allies within 30' gain +1 to hit and damage against the elemental.
Tenibri |
Darkness swarms on on the wayang's vision as he succumbs to unconsciousness from the Harbinger's blow. (What was the attack, btw? Weapon, spell?)
Constitution DC 10, negative hit points: 1d20 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 - 1 = 4 (Thanks to Forgrim, instead of a stabilize check, this is now Tenibri's check to become conscious and disabled.)
(Which he failed. He gets another check in an hour.)
Agirran, Lil' Fury |
greataxe (freebooter, fury, AoO): 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 + 2 = 13 damage: 1d12 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 1 = 7
Then when he hits the floor:
concentration (cast defensively) DC 17: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
From the floor, teen Agirran cups his hands together at the wrists, aiming his fingers at the lightning being. He screams: "KAME-HAME-HAAAAAA!!!" And looses a bolt of water from his fingers.
CMB (bull rush, freebooter, fury): 1d20 + 5 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 2 + 1 = 21
If he pushes the elemental back 5+ feet Agirran stands up.
GM Zinou |
@Tenibri: indeed, I forgot to specify. The man hit you with a longsword.
Forgrim, seeing his shadowy companion falling unconscious, immediately casts a spell to stabilize him. Kyran hits the elemental with an arrow while Agirran barely misses it before falling on the ground. The lil' man shouts as he hits the ground and a bolt of water pushes away the elemental, giving him space enough to stand up.
Nice job!
Dewdrop and Ptolomeo!
