Kay Leafwalker |
What Leepo, I couldn't help myself.
A grin breaks across Kay face and she puts her dagger back in her mouth before she says anything else to make the situation worse ... as quite a few things come to the forefront but none seem to be nice by human standards.
Kay does nothing for the initiative round.

Bledren moves toward the "foul dragon" and prepares his shield to attack if it approaches you. Waki hides in the woods as Leepo casts some grease in Lander´s sword.
What the hell are you doing? Yells Lander as his sword falls to the ground. He tries to pick it, but the grease coting the weapon continues making him lost his sword. You´ll be punished for this, how do you dare to stand between me and my destiny?Lander is really angry.
For her part, the creature looks confused on whats happening and stays in his placing waiting to see what happens.

What is he attacking? It sounds like it may not be hostile...

Oykiv |
Leepo sees the creature is not neccesary hostile, but it has prepared itself to defend (readied an action. Knowledge Arcana to identify the creature and know the probable action). Lander for his part is very hostile against the creature he considers "a foul dragon"
Tiberias cast a spell to help Bledren, which also results in more Lander´s moaning: More magic? Magic is what had make me lost my sword. Stop doing nonsenses and behave like a good servant, come here to pick up my sword and give it to me

"Leave it be, folks! It isn't hostile. Meanwhile, we need to bring Lander down, because ain't none of us eloquent enough to talk him down!"
Unfortunately, I have absolutely nothing to stop him short of killing him.
Oykiv |
Waki picks Lander´s sword and runs to the woods followed by the young noble and Aldrea aims at the noble. Then the creature suddenly prodeuces a colored flash and the sound of a reptilian choke and falls to the ground, obviously dead.
Lander suddenly stops, confused of seeing his prey dead without nobody harming it and his servants confabulating to steal his sowrd and even aiming at him.
What? What the hell are you doing?
Do you know who I am? What can I do to you once I recover my weapon.
His face is turning red from the angry, but he isn´t moving to not provoke Aldrea.
Ok, Lander has ALL your attention, albeit he´s a little hostile towards you. What are you going to do with him
Waki Huro |
Waki is not a diplomatic sort - so hopefully someone else can talk while the ninja plays keep-away with the sword.
Bledren Shieldmason |
Diplomacy: 1d20 ⇒ 4 Oh man!
Bledren looks incredulously from Aldrea to Lander to the small dead reptilian thing. "Look, kid. We're adventurers, right? That means we work together. As a team. Not fighting each other! You've been telling us what a great blademaster you are, then you can show us a real warrior's courtesy. Harrumph!" He, uh, keeps his shield close, just in case.
Oykiv |
I think no one has enough diplomacy to resolve this nicely, so you can do it by the hard way.
Even if some of you are not very strengh, 5 pathfinders jumping over him will be impossible for him to resist. And without a weapon he can´t even fight back.
Not wanting to force this, but it looks nobody has an idea of how to resolve better than tying him and forcing him to go back home. If most of you agree, I´ll go on with the travel back
Leepo Toggenburg |
Yep, I think this is what we are limited to.
Waki Huro |
Agreed. Our hand was tipped and dragging the boy back seems only plausible option .
Oykiv |
Having tried all they can thought to be nice with Lander, the pathfinders decide to change their attitude and jump at once over the young noble, tying him and threatening to gag him if he continues complaining all the journey back.
Going to Silverhall you found the road narrows here, leading over a well-worn stone bridge that crosses a stream. Trees dot the landscape to both sides of the bridge, and the rushing of water and the croaking of frogs give the scene an air of tranquillity.

Everyone, I'm from the woods and these birds are diatrymas. The way of there stance and defensiveness is probably they are defending something, a nest or killed food. My suggestion is we go around, we have had a long day and I don't know about the cleric but I'm low on spells. Plus if we do attack they are very good chargers and it may not end well. Let's back up and go around, we don't have to kill everything. What say u all? I have Aklo so I may be able to let the birds know we mean no harm.
Kay in Aklo ...
Mean you no harm, we move on. We found baby and return to its mother, want no fight.
Bledren Shieldmason |

Tiberias cast guidanceon Bledren to help him. Both Tiberias and Waki get ready to attack the birds as they approach.
They move very quickly to your position, one of them even reaching Bledren. The bird is rewarded with a shield of in the head, due to the mix of melee prowness a divine guidance. I had added the guidance bonus

Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Oykiv |
Leepo throws a bomb toward the unengaged bird, to scare the bird but it stays in place, for now. Waki moves to flank with Bledren and stabs the bird, but not with much strengh. Tiberias tryes to crush the bird´s head, but his hands are more used to pray than to fight and can´t hit the diatryma. Kay sends a splinted spear to fly through the air until it´s lost from sight. Bledren bashes the diatryma in the body, and with this final wound the predatory bird falls to the ground dying.
With his mate dead and badly wounded, the survivor decides to put at good use his speed and runs far from the group. Knowing you´ll be unable to catch him, the group let him go and look for what they were defending. After looking around a few minutes you found a nest with two eggs. Kay informs you these are are very valuable for mount breeders, because the diatrymas can be tamed and used as mounts, so you start packing it when Lander start complaining again.
Keep your hands out of my eggs. It was me who convinced you to go adventuring to save silverhall from the many threats this forest is home to.
It´s my right to have one of the eggs. You can keep the other because you´ve been passable lackeys, and your ability with swords and shields deserve it. But the other is mine!
Now you only have to go back to town. The journey will take two days due the advanced of the day and you were travelling opposite of the town.
Each time you have an opportunity to change Lander opinion of you, but his attitude is hostil and being tied don´t help a lot. You can try to change his mind about adventuring using other skills instead of diplomacy but a good reasing is needed -bluffing him about the dangers it´s ok, making just a perception check is not
Some actions and words have their own unknown bonuses or penalties. You know he react bad to be lectured about his responsibilities, he dislikes magic and he´s looking slightly better to the ones fighting in melee. But there´s more you can use for better or worse
Waki Huro |
Waki is not much on diplomacy. I am not sure intimidate would be appropriate. He can assist with a bluff. Waki is ok with releasing him if he behaves.
"Have we your word on your honor as a gentleman run off you will not? Need you we do to help us make it back to town alive with more dangers abounding than expected we did."
Leepo Toggenburg |
"Listen, lughead." Leepo isn't likely to change his attitude, but maybe he can see reason. "We are only here to bring you back to town. Your trainer seems to have been involved with these bandits you seek, your family needs you at home. You can always come back out here and risk your life if you like, but for now, let's make nice and try to have a pleasant trip back."

Kay is fidgeting her knife in her mouth back and forth. She has not showered in days and smells worse than a skunk on its wedding day. This upstart young cub is driving her crazier than a woodpecker chucking ... Kay takes out her dagger that has a little blood and it eases her anger for a moment.
Tiberias, can you talk to him please ... Or else this will be worse than a dying forest on the way home
Kay spits out more blood and puts her dagger back in her mouth.
I'm ok taking damage from the dagger, hence high hp as she is tough for a wizard
Tiberiass |
Tiberias looks at all his companions, and then looks to Lander, and move near him.. putting his arm in the shoulder of our Hero!.

Leepo tries to help, and all goes smoothly until he talks about his trainer involvement.
Stop telling lies! Why are you blaming Marek from anything. He´s a good trainer, and if you don´t like his style you should just shut up

Aldrea diplomacy: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (9) - 1 = 8
Bledren focus his efforts in telling Lanbder he has proved well trained in fight, but he could be even better trained.

Bledren Shieldmason |
"I'm sure Marek was a good trainer. We can see that in your, um, fighting style. But as for allegiances...well, perhaps you should have a discussion with Marek yourself on that score. If he proves us wrong, we'll apologize."
At Lander's mention of a fight, Bledren's eyes brighten. How about wrestling? You're pretty good with a sword, but what about when you're blade's been snapped and all you've got are your fists? Wrestling's a true test of a warrior's mettle. But afterwards, please come home with us. A wise warrior is true to their obligations, and yours I think is your family."

Leepo is happy to sit this one out, watching to two "big" men duke it out. She pops some popcorn and observes, for now.
Waki Huro |
Waki will not interfere as the two exchange blows. Adding cheers or tips as he sees fit to either opponent.
Honorable must your fight be. Footwork key is. Face must you guard, Lander.
Bledren Shieldmason |
Bledren waits patiently as Lander stalks towards him and throws a clumsy punch. The dwarf weaves to the right and boxes the lad on the ear. He follows up with a left jab to the gut. "Don't worry, you're doing great! Keep it up. Now, go on plant one on me chin here. Go on, you can do it!" He continues to circle around, calling out advice to Lander - "Keep your fists up, guard the face, yes that's it! Then jab jab...yes! Nearly got me that time."
Woohoo! Best initiative roll ever. Two attacks, nonlethal unarmed strikes. Bledren has unarmed strike, so no penalty to attack.

Bledren and Lander exchange blows; the young noble fails his first attack and is punched twice by Bledren. Then Bledren starts giving him advice and fighting at less than his capacity. It’s obvious to all, Lander included, than he’s going to win, but first Bledren is going to teach a couple of lessons.
When the young noble wakes from the ground after being knocked down by Bledren, and healed back to consciousness by Tiberias, his attitude is a little more amicable. He continues talking about you as servants, not bothering in remember any name and criticizing the inability of Kay to do anything besides “tricks”, but he walks closer to Bledren and talks with him about fighting techniques.
Once you’re back in Silverhall, Dame Sarrona Lebena gives you the Horn of Aroden and thaks you for your efforts. She also express her hope in his son abandon his idea of became and adventurer and embraces his obligations. But as you can suppose, that’s not going to happen, at least for now.

Thanks, GM!
Bledren Shieldmason |
"Lander, I can see you are really coming on. Thanks for the bout. Next time I'm in Silverhall, we can have a rematch. In the meantime, hone your skills, keep your family safe."
Bledren is astounded to behold the Horn of Aroden, and admires its craftsmanship. I know we'll all be scattered to the winds, but I look forward to adventuring with yeh again. Best of luck on your journeys."
Thanks Oykiv! Thanks everyone! This has been fun.
