Evan Everscared |
Evan see Julian coming from a mile away and begins to suck on his finger. After Julian says "Boo" Evan spins and pokes his slobber covered finger right in the man's ear. "Not this time!! Wet Willie!!!" Evan quickly removes his finger and dodges behind Ka'zaak.
Looking up at the Cleric. "I agree I think its time to go." Evan starts walking with a big grin on his face.

Natula Icosagon Thako |
*eye roll*
Ka'zaak |
Looking at the interchange between the two men, Ka'zaak looks at Natula. "Sadly, I agree with you this time." Shaking his head ever so slightly, Ka'zaak wonders if perhaps his stoicism was misdirected. Perhaps a bit of frivolity was warranted. Then again, perhaps not.
Kaylee Sharpston |
"Ooh, you guys are so fun! Normally the Pathfinders I work with are all so BOOORING! Yay for fun Pathfinders!!"
Kaylee is also ready to head out.
Sagart Laoch |
The fighter shakes his head, looks at his boots and tries to shake the look of disapprovement. As a child of slaves, he never was afforded the luxury of humor and gameplay, and this has warped his ability to accept it. However, he is keenly aware of other people's desire, nay passion, to enjoy themselves at every opportunity. Possibly one day he will harness his inner joy, but until then he will find his pleasure in vanquishing foes.
GM Crash |
"Yes, I took it from one of the other houses, along with this." She takes a necklace off from around her neck. It has two spheres on it. "I don't know who it belongs to." When someone takes the wayfinder and opens it up, they see Joadric Heimurl inscribed inside of it. "Yes, I can lead you to the horse-killing place."
When you report everything to the VC, she says "It is good that you are investigating this, but you need to disguise the goblin or put her into something that she can still see good enough through. Otherwise the people of Magnimar may attack. So, find the headquarters of these goblins, stamp out any threat the goblins pose to Pathfinder operations in Magnimar, recover any stolen artifacts they find, and discover why the goblins are targeting the Pathfinder Society."
Diplomacy or Know(local) to see if you might know or be able to find out information about the goblins in and around Magnimar.
Kaylee Sharpston |
Kaylee quickly talks to several people in the nearby vicinity.
Diplom: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34
She quickly finds out everything there is to find out about the goblins.
"Oh man, they're in the sewers. I hate sewers! I've had to go down there twice already for the Society... and now we have to do it again? Yuck! But yeah, the goblins live in the sewers, and they usually set up shop in, like, old hideouts made by thieves and stuff?"
Evan Everscared |
Evan tags along with Kaylee talking with people in the area that may know anything about the goblins.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
"Yeah, what she said!! Plus they come from the Mushfens a large swamp to the east. I use to live there a longtime ago." Evan's face loses it cheer and his eyes stare off into the distance blankly. ... I had a family once ... I miss them so much ...
Natula Icosagon Thako |
Flipping to the next page in her book, Natula says: "Uh huh."
Evan Everscared |
Evan tries to read Natula's book over her shoulder. "You read a lot, you must know so many neat things? So what you reading?"
Ka'zaak |
"I for one do not posses the ability to disguise a goblin. Do any of you? With your permission, maybe we can tie you up to look like a prisoner. What say you? Or if anyone has a better suggestion ..."
Natula Icosagon Thako |
Flipping to the next page in her book, Natula says: "Uh huh."
Note: looking over her shoulder might be difficult considering she's a tall, if slender, Ulfen woman standing about 5'10" or so. The book's jacket cover reads in Common: Birds of the West Indies, and seems to be a thick (five hundred or so page) field guide.
Julian Keenens |
When Evan pokes his finger in Julian's ear, the latter starts cursing loudly. "$#%&! He put his spit in my ear! $#&^%!!"
Julian runs out of the room, in search of water to clean his ear. You hear a whole range of curses as Julian runs down the hallway.
A while later, Julian returns. He points his index and middle finger first at his own eyes, then in Evan's direction. His mouth forms the words "I'm watching you." About half a minute later Julian seems to have already forgotten that he was going to watch Evan's every move.
"I'll put the goblin in my backpack," he tells the others.
Turning to Ekkie, Julian says, "Just leave the things in my backpack where they are, 'kay?"
I'll have to check if she hasn't taken anything when she comes out.
Kaylee Sharpston |
"Oh, I could TOTALLY get a scroll that would disguise Ekkie, if we can stop at a shop real quick!"
Any chance we could stop and get a scroll of disguise other? It would only last 30 minutes but that might be all we need.
Sagart Laoch |
"Save your coin, lass. If in not the sorcerer's, the little one can ride in this one's pack. She can not weigh more than a few stones. This way I can stay near the front if trouble arises, and the magus can remain protected further back in the pack. She can give us directions and have the advantage of being a little higher off the ground" the warrior states looking down at the slightly shorter Julian.
"Plus this one is not sure that your fox would care to share a ride on the same conveyance with a goblin."
Natula Icosagon Thako |
Flipping to the next page in her book, Natula says: "Uh huh."
Ka'zaak |
Sensing his companions are ready to depart, Ka'zaak gathers them together. He places the point of his nodachi on the floor, and reaches into his pack. There he grabs a leather bound cord, at the end of the cord dangled “the sword of valor,” which he attaches to the pommel.
"Iomedae, though we are all quite different, I pray that all come to know justice and honor are a heavy burden for the righteous. We carry this weight so that the weak may grow strong and the meek grow brave. May you bless us on this quest to end evil."
Ka'zaak rises and moves towards the door, taking the lead position.
"I am the first into battle, and the last to leave it." he whispers to himself.
Kaylee Sharpston |
Kaylee bounces along behind Ka'zaak, trying to make idle conversation with him but finding him fairly stale. She goes back and tries to talk to Ekkie through the pack, but her voice is muffled and Ekkie doesn't seem to speak terribly good Common anyway. She settles on chatting with Evan as they walk along, careful not to frighten him off with her excited chatter.
Evan Everscared |
Evan bounces along next to Kaylee talking about many/all the new interesting thing he sees while they walk thru the city.
Julian Keenens |
Julian overhears what Ka'zaak whispers to himself and smiles quietly.
What would happen if everyone vowed to be the first in battle and the last to leave it? Sounds like a bloody mess to me. The fighting would never stop.
Sagart Laoch |
Sagart marches side-by-side with Ka'zaak, pack on his back and his mighty falchion shouldered, all the while receiving directions from a goblin riding uncomfortably close to his neck. His eyes are ever alert to attack or trap.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Natula Icosagon Thako |
Natula grabs her travel pack which she had barely unpacked anyhow except for extra clothing and a couple of tapestries of the wizard Raistlin she'd already hung in her room.
She follows along in the middle of the pack reading as she goes, with Kalas, her bat familiar, keeping watch as they go.
GM Crash |
Sorry about not posting this weekend, it was really busy for me.
Following Ekkie’s directions, you head to Magnimar’s Lowcleft district. The knackery stands on the northern edge of the district, two blocks west of the Matador’s Lodge. Lame or old horses, as well as animals and beasts maimed or used up in events at the Serpent’s Run arena or the Matador’s Lodge, are brought to the knackery to be slaughtered and dismembered, and their meat and other remains are sold off.
Inside is a man that stands 5 1/2 feet tall with a graying walrus-like mustache. When Ekkie sees him, you hear her muffled voice come through the bag "That is the longshanks horse-killer. I know he is because I saw when I came out of the sewers."
Noticing you all, he approaches as he wipes he hands on a towel and says "Welcome to the Mariska Knackery. My name is Tersus Mariska, how can I help you?"
Ka'zaak |
Gave everyone time to post, but Ka'zaak can take point on this if you want
"Well met, Tersus. I am Ka'zaak and these are my companions.
"Unfortunately, I bring troubling news. We have learned that a group of bandits have been stealing in the area, and we ask your leave to investigate here.
As you can see," Ka'zaak holds up the pommel of his nodachi, "I am a paladin of Iomedae, and you can be assured every word I speak is true."

"Yeah, like, we need to stop the bandits! I'm SURE you want to help us out, we'd be SOOO grateful!"
Kaylee bats her eyes and sticks out her chest, enticing the man to think well of the group.

"Yeah, like, we need to stop the bandits! I'm SURE you want to help us out, we'd be SOOO grateful!"
Kaylee bats her eyes and sticks out her chest, enticing the man to think well of the group.
Technically, I think it's a 'pair.'
Natula Icosagon Thako |
"Where does the effluence drain to?"
Julian Keenens |
Julian's eyes move to watch Kaylee as she speaks, but he's not watching her face. "Uhu, we do certainly appreciate it... your help, we do."
He nods absentmindedly at the man's answer. With some effort Julian then pulls his eyes away and nods. "Let's go to the sewers then."
Natula Icosagon Thako |
"The grate?" Her vocal fry making the word itself grate.
Evan Everscared |
Evan could smell the dead of the horse-killing place a block away and stays at the door when others enter and watches the street as rear guard. ... I think I am going to throw up ....
As the group moves to the sewers Evan quickly walk thru the shop to catch up.
Sagart Laoch |
Sagart has developed an unusual ability to disregard the foulest of smells, growing up in the slums. He steps in and looks around trying to identify anything "out of place."

"Thank you for your assistance. Odd that sewers can be accessed through a door way. Has it always been so? Well you seem trustworthy enough, at least for my SM check. Come let us conclude this foul business as quickly as possible." Ka'zaak draws his nodachi, and casts light on it.
"אור"
Kaylee Sharpston |
Kaylee follows the others into the sewer, humming in what she is trying to make seem to be a carefree way, but you can easily tell that she's nervous... she seems to have an aversion to sewers for some reason.
Julian Keenens |
Julian hops into the sewers and draws his wakizashi.
Better to be ready for anything.
Julian has darkvision 60 due to his orc bloodline.

Kaylee can bring up the rear, though that will rob all of her companions of the nice view from behind her. :-P
Natula Icosagon Thako |
"Great. Just great. Starfire Kaylee, it's bad enough that Beast Boy and Cyborg Evan and Julian are up front leading this mission without you getting all pouty behind me."
Kalas the Bat |
"Sqeee!" Natula's bat shrieks at Kaylee from under her cape.
GM Crash |
Who is Robin, Natula?
Ekkie tells Natula "Just chant a little something to make you feel better. I chant 'ashwrath, metroid, sinthose' when I am feeling a little bad." Letting Ekkie out of the backpack, she leads them to the entrance of the complex in 45 minutes through clammy fetid tunnels. There is a little bit of ventilated air in the air so it is not as stale as the rest of the sewers. "I have never been inside so I don't know what to expect other than what we can see here which is a lot of darkness. Can I go with you and help out still though?"
