Urktar |
sorry. I'm at a con and so I'm stealing moments to get online and totally missed your buff, Prisim. Thanks!
Urktar stands up and takes a very brief moment to enjoy his first experience with being embiggened.
"Oh my, Bert, you look so big and dangerous. Let's smash!"
He takes a hack at the red dog with his newfound reach.

The party makes their way upstairs, past a couple of more experienced teams combating owlbears and dwoemercats...
Gears, glass, and chunks of wax litter the polished wood floor under a sign that proclaims “Scars of the Lich.” The corpse of a Kellid warrior lies in a pool of blood, her furs soaked through. A constant ticking and whirring sound echoes in this area.
The party comes upon the source of the whirring.. 3 constructs start moving against you...

★★★OVERSEER ANNOUNCEMENT★★★
After a loud crack and a ripple of arcane energy, silence falls across the museum as the construct guards freeze in place and haunted relics drop to the ground. Nigel’s voice rings out, magically projected throughout the museum: “We’ve disabled the magical security measures. Since we haven’t found the thieves yet, they must be hiding in my third-story study. Please subdue them; they have much to answer for!”
Nigel Aldain’s announcement echoes through a museum littered with shattered clockwork and toppled exhibits. There’s no question that the Pathfinders have quelled the building’s defenses, and perhaps the peaceful silence will set whoever hides on the third floor at ease.
@Table GMs: Please begin Part C on page 14, but stop before reaching Part 2. Also, the Peace in the Museum condition on page 16 is in effect.

to be clear... you are taking the flank away from the rogue?
Samildanach The Dread |
Surely 'Peace in the Museum' means this should now be moot...
Gasping as he is gutted by the deadly automaton, Samildanach grunts his thanks at the passing agent for restoring him back from the brink. Seeing still one creature standing, the Cleric decides not to push his luck and hides underneath his shield before getting to his feet, hoping to deflect away the creature's grasping hands.
Total Defense and Stand, effectively negating the prone penalty.
Garrett Goodleaf |
Derp... I completely brain farted and forgot that Devonalia was a rogue. Garrett will maintain his previous position to allow the rogue the flank w/ Urktar. So, his attacks will both be 2 less than above.

CLW on Sam: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
The party finds the stairs leading up to the main office... they open the door...
A Kellid woman dressed in furs with intricate scars all over her body steps forward. She holds a hand up and says, “Stay back. We are members of the Twinhorn following, and we have only come to retrieve what was stolen from us.”
A towering figure steps forward; his translucent red form is that of a man clad in heavy armor and wielding twin warhammers. “Medda, they must be in league with the thieves; they should die for crossing us.” The man’s voice sounds hollow and unnaturally loud, and as he speaks, the chandelier glows with a dull light.
The woman, Medda, puts a hand on the figure’s arm and says, “Maybe we should give them a chance to explain themselves, Anok.”
Prisim |
Prisim noses forward and gapes at the translucent figure.
"Wow, are you like a ghost or something? I've like never even heard of the Twnhorn following. What do you follow, and what was it that was stolen?" she gushes.
As the woman seems to want to avoid a fight, she quickly nods. "Fer Sure. We'd much rather talk than fight. I mean if you want fights, there are like ten grillion broken clockwork guards downstairs that are like totally up for it. Speaking of totally up for it... perhaps you might tell us what you are totally up here doing. I mean like, did you chase a thief up here or...." she shrugs her little shoulders.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Turning to the red warrior she admires him for a moment. "Red is so totally your colour. I mean like, you are almost screaming 'autumn'"
Devonalia Crystalwind |
Devonalia stays a bit back from the fur dressed lady. After the lady speaks the elf asks "Who are the Twinhorn? What was stolen from you? And we are not thieves... well not at this juncture."
Seiran Leogil |
Aid Diplomacy 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
"I agree that fighting here would not help either side. Some questions would be useful and if so, we can help negoiate your freedo from this place."
GM.Kashka |
Is that a ghost? Anok growls, “I’m a phantom, not a ghost. I am Anok, and I protect the guardian of Ivvora’s hilt, Medda."
Who are the Twinhorn following? Medda responds, “We are from the northern lands—the Realm of the Mammoth Lords to you southerners. Our following, or tribe, has been searching for our stolen heritage for months.”
What was stolen from you? Medda responds, “These Blakros people stole our most precious heirloom.” Medda retrieves a bundle of bloody bandages, then unwraps it to reveal a dagger hilt with only the fragment of a black blade. “It belonged to Ivvora, a champion of Vildeis who vanquished the great black evil from our land over 900 years ago. We kept it safe until the Blakros agents stole it three months ago.”
Urktar |
Urktar looks around the room for any food or snacks that might have been left out. Fighting always makes him hungry, and he doesn't really care about some old broken weapon.
Urktar |
"No, Bert, it does not taste like elves. That's not what she meant by 'elven trail mix.' Stop interupting!" Urktar looks sheepishly at the rest of the party. "Sorry about that. Shouldn't take Bert anywhere nice..."
Samildanach The Dread |
Samildanach listens to Medda's story with a solemn nod, it was just like the underhanded Blakros to get in over their heads and even likelier that the Society would be sent in to clear up after the meddling elf's mess. Stepping forwards, though with arms by his side and Trident held loosely, the Half-orc shakes his head as he regards the tribesmen before him.
"Aye it sounds like Nigel to take what he doesn't understand. This ain't the first time it has got us into trouble, and wishin' it were the last is just folly." Samildanach sighs, "For what its worth, I say you leave with your heritage, the guardians have stopped going berserk at least."
Garrett Goodleaf |
Garrett steps up and clears his throat. "Honorable Guardians, before we conclude our negotiations, would you regal us with the story first? I am curious what the exact circumstances were regarding this theft. Perhaps Nigel would do for some of your local justice?"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
GM.Kashka |
to Sam Anok responds, “When the metal men attacked us, Ivvora’s spirit called through the hilt to her allies’ armaments. She protects us, even now.”
to Garrett Medda opens her mouth to answer, but Anok steps forward defensively and proudly announces, “She is the guardian of Ivvora’s hilt, passed from keeper to keeper for generations—or for her, from parent to child. She is the first evening’s daughter in decades,” he boasts, earning him a withering look from Medda before he adds, “And it is she who can sense and wield the hilt’s power properly.”
Medda continues, “We asked for it to be returned... That Nigel man refused. He said he did not honor ‘seller’s remorse.’”
Medda shakes her head and looks up again, “It is bound to me.” She grasps the hilt tightly, then her eyes begin to glow with a brilliant white light as her scars begin to seep thin rivulets of blood. “Does that answer your question?”
